pizza hut yo

today our manager bought pizza and pop for our department. kind of a holiday treat and 'thanks for the good work this year" kinda thing. it was pizza hut. this was the first time i had ever had pizza hut. it was pretty damn good. my parents never let me have it as a kid - with may have traumatized me. granted , they also named me after an allman brothers song so i suppose i shouldn't expect much less.

a few weeks ago i wrote about how i got a desk ergonomic evaluation. i finally got my new keyboard tray installed. i freakin hate it. i am more uncomfortable then ever. and all my cords keep getting tangled. i am going crazy.

also. they guy in the cubicle next to me (aka the sneeze guy) keeps farting out load. i find this even more bizarre then gross.

last nite was beamer's cd release party. considering i am probably the worst friend ever i went to luna with rachel and missed it. stopped by 1039 later though and stayed out much later then i should have. especially after going out everynite this week. i think i have a problem.

flying bison scotch ale

ok work wasnt as bad as i anticipated. i may have a tiny tendency to overreact. a few jabs about here and there. but i made it through the day.

went to brennans to watch the game last nite with chris. again it was very crowded. a lot of drunks 50-somethings in suits. i kinda hope i am never a drunk 50-something in a suit. afterwards i picked up the girls and stopped into hardware for a drink. why i felt the need to drink on a monday nite i don't know, but it turned out for the better when i came home to a party in my living room. friends were in town visiting - and (unbeknown to me) 3 of them were staying in my living room. the party at my house that eventually moved to mcgarrets allowing me to fall asleep and sleep right through afterhours as well. thank you flying bison scotch ale for making me sleep peacefully despite the hippies parting outside my bedroom door.

i am going as dyans date to her christmas party tonite. her boyfriend is working. luckily i know a lot of the people she works with so it wont be too bad. and there is open bar. i really need to be xmas shopping. i havnt bought one gift yet. i am going to be doing it all tmw and thursday after work. friday i am going to the party at sphere in which ron jeremy is mc. this should be interesting.

monday morning regret

friday got my ticket cleared up. i called the courthouse like 3 times on the way in desperate hope it would closed due to weather. i got there late - but it didn't even matter. i waited for about 3 hours. $110 - no points on my license. i guess i can't complain too much.
when i got home marla and i decorated the house to the extreme, listened to burl ives and drank hot cider and rum. i was a touching scene. apparently the mantle we have in our bar room is removable and we moved it into the dining room and decortaed that as well. cozy. later on people came over and we drank more rum and cider and watched "the aristocrats." it put me in a vile mood for the rest of the weekend. something about watching bob saget talk filthy made me disgusting. the things that came out of my mouth this weekend really surpized me. and i think everyone around me as well.

saturday. game day. going to this game may have been the 2nd biggest mistake of my life. the first being getting completely wasted at it in front of my coworkers. i spent yesterday looking for a new job as i couldn't fathom coming in today. but here i am - hiding out for dear life in my cubicle. if i can just hide for the next month hopefully it will be forgotten.

23 is the new 33

luna and roxys were fun last nite. my chest still hurts from roxy smoke. i sang 'beast of burden.' after the first verse my lyrics shut off. it is funny because i know every word to that song - but i blanked. yikes. i almost choked but luckily pulled myself together.

after roxys i stopped by coles to say hi to my sister. while i was there i started chatting with 2 gentlemen who were quite sweet. after about 20 minutes, the one asked how old i was. "23," i replied. this guy acutally says back to me; "oh man! i totally have an older brother that is perfect for you!"
i am never going out again.
to make matters worse, after exiting directly after this i fell right on my ass on the ice outside.

i overdrew my bank account by $436.52

with every good thing there is some bad.

good thing #1:
i wanted to get my dad a business card scanner for christmas. yesterday i got one free from work!

bad thing #1:
i overdrew my bank account by $436.52. that is real bad. i don't understand how i have the best paying (if not the only paying) job of all my friends and i am the one that is always broke! holy crap it is gonna be a dollar store christmas.

good thing #2:
i won a $250 dollar gift card from best buy at work today. maybe it wont be a dollar store xmas after all.

bad thing #2:
dinner last nite was torture. my uncles girlfriend it the worst. it was so uncomfortable i almost had to leave. they have been together about a year. i havnt really liked her off the bat. i hate to be a girl hater - but she is so awful. i wont launch into detail too much, but last nite she spent dinner talking about when they are married and birthing their children. i'm sorry, but in my family these are not subjects to be brought up in front of my grandmother with out a ring on your finger. i thought poor nana was going to faint. man, that was awful.

i know with the current status of my checking account i shouldn't be going out...but its wednesday! luna then wherever later

mooshu who

last nite theresa and i ordered chinese and settled down for my guiltiest of pleasures - The Gauntlet.i drove from her house on Bryant to pick it up at that place on the corner of Elmwood and Delavan. When i got it back to her house i noticed the veggie mooshu i ordered was chicken mooshu. i called and they offered to deliver which was badass. theresa was excited at the prospect of more left overs. but when i went downstairs to meet to deliveryman - he asked me for the other back. i find this bizarre. what was he going to do with it? gross

i was awakened at 5am to my room shaking and pounding with music and dancing. i hate my housemates. hate. them. seriously - 5am on monday? what the hell. i don't want to be the cranky neighbor, but this is ridiculous.

cecilias tonite for matt's bday (my uncle.) i can think of nothing better for a 25th bday present the Trapped in The Closet Volumes 1-12

ellis and douglas

eread Less Than Zero today. i havnt read it in a long time. i think the first time i read it i didn't really grasp it, because now that i just read it again i am so blown away. it is wierd how that happens. different life experiences make you identify so much more with something that was just 'good' before.
anyways. today i did the tree thing as well. for whatever reason my mother felt the need to get one for the upstairs living room and the down stairs family room. this seems fairly unecessary to me. i got a small tree for the apartment as well. i wanted to get a normal full size douglas fir - but the idea of transporting it in the colbalt back to buffalo and moving the furniture etc. for it seemed more trouble then its worth. i ended up with something a little more charlie brownish. i will provide photos when i am home and it is decorated.
ps - don't leave (e:jason)

rochester nite

in rochester tonite. needed a break . something about coming to my parents house that is soo soothing. seeing my parents together, seeing my puppy, my brothers... is it wierd to miss home at 23? maybe i just miss good food and a thermostat turned past 58.
last nite we did tudor , hardware, pink - the usual friday sequence. i skipped out on the party on highland with the girls to hang out with the boys. bad idea. i kinda regret it. tudor just annoyed me. there is only so many times i can hear harrington sing 'Obsession' at karoke. the girls said the party was fun too, like a broadway joes renuion from the old days.

buy me this

another brief story about how ridiculous my job is. the man in the cubicle next to me sneezed earlier. i said " god bless you." he acutally complained to HR about my religious propaganda. my manager pulled me aside and told me to watch what i say. wow. a few minutes ago the sneezer informed me that i can say "may the druids watch over your spirit" next time he sneezes. i told him i didn't appreciate his satanic black magic viewpoints.

i also just got back from a training in the new IPAQ's coming out. i'm obsessed. i never realized how bad i needed a pocket pc until today.

i love you:

r.kelly is a lyrical genius

last nite after the game i went back to the 1039 house. i didn't realize you couldn't park on elmwood over nite anymore so i paid tony $4 to move my car at 12:55. i can't believe he did it. the catch was though, he wouldnt tell me where it was. at the time, this seemed like a great idea because i didn't have to leave the warm house and i was in the midst of a rousing round of the Trapped in the Closet drinking game. this proved to be a terrible idea this morning when i wandered around a 4 block radius in the snow for 45 minutes.
so the trapped in the closet drinking game you ask? ah this was the brainchild of scott a few weeks ago. seriously the dvd of volumes 1-12 with the commentary is most likely the funniest thing i have seen in a long time. we made it so you have to drink at certain points during this cinematic masterpiece such as when r.kelly talks into the wrong camera, when 'big man' (a midget stripper) takes a puff of his inhaler etc. i have never seen someone take themselves as seriously as r kelly does.

okay this may be one of the most embarrassing entries ever. not only does it show how lazy i am - but that i have seen "trapped in the closet" more then once
