Tricolor Pulao
Category: food
We didn't have the right ingredients to make a curry with paneer, so instead (e:terry) and I made a Tricolor Pulao. It was super simple - just cook some vegetables with cumin, chili powder and some other spices, and then add the rice to cook with the vegetables. It turned out okay, but adding habanero salsa added enough spice.

Shaggy at the Square
Category: thursdays

Yesterday (e:Terry), (e:Paul) and I went down after the pouring stopped to go to the first square of the year. Shaggy was playing - not only was he really bad (half the songs were him talking over other top 40 songs), he thought he was in Albany. The music might have been better after but we left to make dinner.

Bierklub
Category: beer
Another month, another bierklub. This month had a bunch of pale ales, and a few IPAs. The weirdest was probably a pineapple beer - it was so sweet and light it might as well have been a wine cooler. After, we got back and played bocce (better than board games to me).

Daniel's birthday
Category: birthdays
Last night we headed over to my parents' for Daniel's 18th birthday. It was actually on June 1st, but they were in NYC for the Colbert Report and Daily Show that weekend.

My mom made kebobs, quinoa and fruit salad, stuffed shells, and then we had three different desserts. I tried to make goat cheese brownies, but the goat cheese I bought had thyme in it. Instead, I just made regular ones.

Cake - I wish I recorded it because birthday cake and candles makes Midnight bark along to "happy birthday"

Yes, but where is Daniel in these pics?

Basra the battering ram
Category: pets
Basra is a lot smarter than you'd think. I came home to find that he has moved the canoe right up against the wood barrier and started banging it open. Soon enough he'll be able to climb out if we don't reinforce it - he can't be tamed.

image
He's also a huge bastard. He ripped open this bag of wood chips and spread it all over the yard.

He did escape a couple years back - I think he knows about it. Paul found him a couple days back when someone from the pet store spotted him across Main St! (I think!) He knows the world and is quite evil.

The canoe has just been sitting on the lawn and he drags it around, but I think he's capable of just climbing over the cinder blocks and wood if he could figure it out.
tinypliny - 06/11/14 01:29
so he can actually get to wherever the canoe is stored and get it out? amazing.
