Weather insanity
Its hard to believe winter has not started yet. There has been zero feet of snow on the ground and it's already January 6th. Today, in Buffalo, NY it's 43 degrees already at 10:30am and in Rochester it's already about 50 and sunny according to weather.com.

Something is really up. I don't remember every experiencing a mild winter like this. Did it happen before and I just forgot? Part of me loves it. I mean even if winter goes full force now it is going to be so short compared to the years when it started in october. Another part of me is totally freaked out. With this kind of weather continuing the trees are bound to bud soon and then they will be in really bad shape if winter does actually happen.

I tried riding bikes but the trails were all too muddy.

It has Snowed just not in the City of Buffalo....

I can remember a time when I was a kid I think it was about 65 for a few days of winter.....

Last few years there have been some Brutal winters that missed Buffalo... They where these storms that moved down the coast and since Buffalo isn't on the coast we didn't get any snow....

What I think is going on and it is just a theory is that the seasons are starting to move.... Winter currently covers the new year so we get two winters a year... We get the end of one and the start of the other.... But not saying I will see this not saying peoples grand kids will see this... But at some point I'm guessing winter won't cross that year time line. It won't snow untill feb and summer might end in say November.... Of course this is relative to where one lives on the planet.....

Gluten Free Pizza
Category: food
(E:kookcity) brought some delicious gluten free pizza dough from Rochester. We made pizza two nights in a row. That night it was Meunster, parmesan, Swiss with steak. Thanks kook.

metalpeter - 01/07/12 10:51

kookcity2000 - 01/07/12 10:29
you've made a Meunster-piece
tinypliny - 01/07/12 00:12
To make up for it they piled it with three different kinds of gooey secrets, enough to burn off anyone's crust!
mike - 01/06/12 23:37
the dough is diary free? No diaries? no teenage secrets in this crust!
paul - 01/06/12 22:08
Oops no I accidentally reposted that pics.
tinypliny - 01/06/12 20:52

tinypliny - 01/06/12 20:51

The best lamb ever at Blue Monk
Category: food
The other night I headed down to blue monk with (e:terry), (e:yesthatcasey), and (e:hodown). They had the most delicious lamb I ever ate. I think hodown would agree. It came with pureed squash, Brussel sprouts, and parsnips.

On the other hand I was not very fond of the marinated olives appetizer. It came with two olives. Maybe they should just say they are out at that point.

I wish Mike would go there with me but he for some reason doesn't ever want to go.

The organic ham that tried to kill me
Category: food
After 3 days my $45 organic Ham from the lexington coop looks like a trip to the hospital waiting to happen. Luckily, I am so much more inspective of food since raspberrygeddon. I bought it on sunday 01/01 and this picture was taken on wednesday 01/04. I had to throw most of it out. I am going to bring pictures with me when I stop by next time and see what they say. I was so sad because I love that ham so much.

metalpeter - 01/07/12 10:31
So I don't claim to be an expert but since it is organic doesn't that mean no preservatives so it is meat so it goes bad quick? Or at least it would have a much shorter shelf life... That I think is the reason why Organic stuff is at or should be at a higher price level cause it goes bad quicker... In other words there is less time to sell it and eat it... Wonder though if the amount of time it took to go bad on you is typical?
paul - 01/06/12 12:33
Ya it was totally delicious.
lilho - 01/05/12 22:56
it was so good, i can't believe it is the same stuff i ate just a fe days before.... barf.
libertad - 01/05/12 18:45
I have never seen ham that looked like that before, I'm so glad I didn't buy it because I was going to. Did it smell? I'm sure that they will give you store credit with how much money you spend there.
