Adjust billy joel
Category: movies
So over the weekend I wrote a post and later that night I saw a movie that kinda tied in a bit called The Adjustment Bearu (or however the spell checker won't pic it up)... The basic of the idea of the movie is that there is a plan for you and everyone and when that plan goes off course these guys fix it... It is an action movie with a love story or maybe it is both... Even though it is kinda sci fi it also is about faith a bit......

Now the movie I watched today was on Showtime On Demand... It was called Last Play at Shea... It is about Shea Stadium and is intermixed with the last show there being Billy Joel and has his and the stadiums history and the concert it was pretty good....

skiffle Dec. 2 2011
Category: photos
So I took the Big Camera to see Skiffles on Friday.... Wanted to see the view from above it was a good time but there are a few draw backs... No bar yet up stairs.... You kinda have to guess when the kitchen opens... Something different about the Burger but it is really good.... Also not sure how well one can really see the band if not in one of the first seats... Also the lighting isn't set up for people to take pictures so with a band of this size you can't get the entire band with out getting the lights.... Now that being said it was a great time..... Enjoy a slew of Photos......

Amazing Grace?
Category: philosophy
I had this blog written in my head this morning and now to see how it comes out ones thoughts are always clearer in ones mind then on paper well this isn't really paper but you (ok 2 people ha) know what I mean?

So I hate to admit this but on Facebook/One of the news pages I saw a story (didn't follow the link) about some kid on the west side getting hit and killed by some kind of school bus.... My first thought was how ironic.... Kinda like if someone died in a pool on a cruise ship in the ocean... For some reason all I could think of was that it was Ironic.... Now today in tops I saw the front of a paper and it had a picture of the kid.... I thought how sad it was a little Asian kid... Now granted I can't pick up the paper and read the story in the middle of tops and I didn't go to the website and look into the story.... But what this tells me is that and this might be a jump but that everyone has Hate, Anger and rage in them.... We all claim we are good and great... But lets face it we all judge people and look down on them.... See what got me I think upset and why I thought it was Ironic is that I (and everyone) have stereotypes of others.... Now that doesn't mean we want to join the Klan.. It doesn't even mean we treat others differently.... But some place we have them and may not even know it.... See when this was some little kid of some kind of family well who cares really.... But now when this kid is from some hard working family who moved here so an evil army doesn't kill them then it is sad....

Now when I was done I went to catch the bus and some "Ghetto" I assume white lady is yelling at someone driving.... Um Stupid the car had the green light....ARGh... Oh yeah in tops some dude was playing his Music... What! Wish I had some speakers I would have loved to blast Some Devil loving Church burning Down Norse Black Metal right back at him.... Then Go have some respect now you know what it feels like.......

If anyone can follow what I'm ram-belling about good luck ..... Ok back to my story as waiting for the bus. There is a church and Amazing Grace starts playing.... Now Of course there aren't words to church bells.... But to me that song is about how those that are lost can turn to faith and no longer be lost.... I wish Faith really worked like that.... Wouldn't that be cool.... Well maybe if you turn to faith and leave out the churches then maybe it would? Now a great writer would say that once the song Ended the bus showed up think a Christmas song played next and a Funeral went past...

Sometimes I do think and this song made me think of it.... Or maybe it was the guy that got honked at for not knowing you don't cross when the cars coming at you have the green... Yes pedestrians have the right of way but only when it is lawful Jackass..... That maybe just maybe Humanity should just start over... Maybe another Plague and Like a great flood or what ever took out the Dinosaurs and let what ever form the new humans are if they can figure out how to read what we wrote learn from it and not be us....

Animals (yes we are an animal ) kill mostly to eat and survive.... For the people that don't eat animals got some bad news if you don't eat them cause something was killed how about those fruits and grains oh and worse yet those plants that died for your clothes and any thing leather, or Suede ! To live means something else must die.... Now most of us don't do that anymore... Yes some people hunt and some people work in Slaughter houses or even as a butcher..... But even these people don't live directly and only on what they kill.... I think that Humans have this instinct on how to kill..... I think that since we don't kill to live any more that is why we have so much hate and disgust and thinking we are better then others.... I think there is the natural thing of killing and since we can't and don't do it things build up.... Also if say you need to go out and say shoot a buffalo or something so you and your family or maybe even friends can eat ..... The only thing you are going to care about is things that interrupt that.. As an example Indians getting drunk on fire water as they prey for a good hunt as long as you can sleep you won't care cause you have to hunt in the morning.... Now one of your friends Blaring Metallica as you want to sleep or when hunting and it scares off Squirrels you want to shoot out of trees from your window then maybe you try human that night... HA....

Is there a point eh not really......

Now all that being said I did see a pretty cool action movie today that kinda fits in Immortals.... I Liked it... Didn't think it is as good as say Spartacus is .... But then again it doesn't have orgies, cocks the size of my arm ;), or the sexuality.. .... Didn't like it as much as The 300.... But it was a bit different as in it had gods and Oracles... Then say the 300.... Some of the battle where amazing.... Now there where parts where I could feel as if I was in the maze and the way some of the bodies floated in battle scenes was amazing.... Now I can never tell about the 3D ..... I think part of that is the way movies are filmed and the way stories go is you follow the action it doesn't come towards you cause once they got to you where would they go? Wouldn't they hit the cameras? That aside Yes it is a movie about gods and Immortals and was pretty good but also fit in with the rest of my day....

Maybe the holiday season is just weighing on me a bit I don't know.... I guess I would kinda like it if there was a push instead of black friday of come here save say $30 and donate that money you save to the Salvation Army on your way out... Or at a toy store it would be PS3 save $100 instantly when you donate $30 to toys for tots.... Or say maybe Wegmans : Donate $20 to WNY foodbank and get a free apple strudel pie and Half Gallon of Perry's ice cream or something.... Again some kind of movement where people mention listen when you shop here and buy stuff for mom or what ever take the last thing you buy or even just that thing you aren't sure if she will like and donate it.......

Eating out is so good though ;( but I know what you mean....
tinypliny - 12/03/11 21:18
^I meant the food at restaurants at home.

Everyone should endeavour to eat at home on a regular basis by all means. :)
tinypliny - 12/03/11 21:17
Actually, even the food at home might wreck havoc with your health if eaten on a regular basis. I guess I could say this for eating out, in general. Not a very wise thing, I am afraid.
metalpeter - 12/03/11 20:08
I like Indian Places here.... But if I was from India I might not... Like if I was Italy I'm sure my home food would taste different than people who moved here hundreds of years ago and then open of a Restaurant ....... Never been to merge but I thought the point of going there (might be the wrong place) wasn't really the food but that like people come out and do skits or read Poetry or what ever I read about on here.....
tinypliny - 12/03/11 19:41
The great vegetarian Merge restaurant for instance gets my absolute thumbs down. its a miserable joke. I don't particularly like Indian restaurants here either. granted they have an expanded vegetarian menu, but eating at them frequently is guaranteed to mess with your health even more than a balanced meat based diet.
tinypliny - 12/03/11 19:39
vegetarians meals at restaurants here are a joke or overly done or substitution-based, too rich, too greasy, too non-everyday, or imbalanced, too bland or just plainly unpalatable.
tinypliny - 12/03/11 19:38
(e:metalpeter), in this part of the world, if you would like to give vegetarianism an honest shot, you definitely need attempt to cook. :)
metalpeter - 12/03/11 19:23
Here is my thing on eating animals... Every culture has animals that they eat, Keep as Pets, and can't be ate... Some of this does tie into religious faith... But that isn't the same thing as Faith on its own... You can believe in your self and think things will work out with out having a god one believes in.... One can also believe in things or a greater power that wouldn't be called a god.... Now if I say fairies you would call me crazy and most people who say they believe in Angles get called crazy as well...

Ok back to the animals thing.... There are things that support that humans don't need to eat animals like we only have 4 canine teeth and that we can choose what we eat... Then if we don't eat meat for long enough our stomachs can't handle the meat and we puke it up... Of course there is the fact that Red Meat is bad for the heart and there are hormones in it and things like that and mad cow... And that some animals have been feed the same type of animal....

I admit I stopped or tried to stop eating meat for about a week it was really bad it didn't go well at all..... Long story short is there is a band I liked and (they might have been Vegan don't remember) on as a bonus on their CD they had some video.... They way these animals died was brutal.... Granted it was kinda not super clear and on a small little picture but it was bad.... I have no problem that an animal is killed so I can eat (well until you make me watch Charlotte's Web at least).... What I do think is just kill it and then butcher it and work hard.... None of these machines that drag it and put it through agony... Kill shot to the Brain Maybe? That is why I stopped going to KFC... It made the news how badly they kill those chickens so no more KFC for me... Do other places do this and I don't know.... I'm guessing so?

metalpeter - 12/03/11 19:10
Now that being said I like that you have a different View on things.... No maybe it isn't that your view is different maybe you have a different perspective not sure how to say it.... Again maybe it is just how you talk and present your self (or maybe you don't have that being an AMERICAN!) but it seems like the way you look at things you don't look down (or maybe it is a not being tall thing...HA) on people of different views... Just my think is that most of us or a lot of people who have one view think that the other peoples view is cause they are evil or less then us or something.......
metalpeter - 12/03/11 19:06
The Thing with Stereotypes is that they are both Positive and Negative... For example if you and i where in school and I forgot to study I know that when I sit down next to any of the (e:peeps) to my right I'll pass the test! but if they aren't around I'm going to sit next to The Asian Kid who has no friends cause he is going to get all the answers right as opposed to say the fastest kid on the track who is that way cause he has been running his entire life .......
tinypliny - 12/03/11 18:53
Yes, that is exactly what I find odd about "ethical vegetarianism". I don't think we were made for living independently. Instead of killing animals, vegetarians kill plants. It's the same thing and natural to being on the top of food chain from an ecological perspective. Many "ethical vegetarians" I know have pets. Why? Having pets is like owning rights to another living soul and constraining their natural behaviour. If you are so against killing animals, why not against bonding them into an artificial subservience? On the flip side, you could argue that having a garden is the same as having pets. You could also argue that even though you may not have pets, not eat animals and not have gardens, you are still indirectly enabling all of these by financing them indirectly. The fact of the matter is humans are top of the food chain and we cannot avoid the consequences of our position and behave like ostriches hiding our heads in sand to block out the obvious.

So the arguments can actually never end and anyone can take any side and argue forever. :)

tinypliny - 12/03/11 18:43
Interesting stream of thoughts. I worry a lot about a ton of stereotypes that I have in my head and can't get rid of. It annoys me to a point where I purposefully start avoiding everyone and become completely silent because I feel I am too prejudiced sometimes. At other times, I think having attitudes is what makes us human and different and voice my (correct or not so correct) opinions.

I think I have faith even though I don't believe in organized religion. In my line of work, I cannot possibly go on without faith that I am making a difference. Sometimes this faith wears thin and that is when I have feelings of desperation and panic. So yeah, I think what you describe is possible. Without faith, I would be lost. I would certainly not describe myself as a religious person. So I guess they can be independent if you have the capacity to dissect them from each other and honestly see them for what they are in and of themselves.

I want to see Immortals someday. It was directed by the same director as "The Fall". I am not surprised you found the visuals compelling. He is known for his razor sharp artistic tendencies and sweeping imagery.
