So If you have never seen this band go see them... They are called "Those Idiots" they take Rock songs or hit songs and do them Polka style but they still rock and lyrics get changed like Poker Face is Polka Face plus they play fun instruments as well...

So the one Piece of art is from a guy I have some other art from Paul Massaro (not sure on the spelling) he was telling me that is about some bitch of a judge who likes to take kids away from families ... Now the Black and White is a Sean Madden Original yes a 6 armed Jesus with money, flag, burger, Hot Dog , Gun, Beer and wearing a Micky Mouse Hat..... Then a clown Vomiting is a print and so is the Massaro... Who also does Tattoos ....

This is true except for the Americana stage... At first though it was tough to keep what stage was what.... Since I didn't know about the Hoyt lake stage I assumed they meant the DJ place was that stage... Then later when I found Hoyt lake it made sense... The thing with the hill Is and I didn't try this out really is there is some point where you could only see one stage really and then past that point you could see all 3 but I never really went down close to try and find that perfect spot.....
paul - 09/22/11 23:27
I kind of wish I had caught some of the daytime part. I didn't realize it was in the park until we got there at night. I liked it so much better in the park than at the art gallery because the venues were far enough apart that you couldn't hear one from the other.

I thought the hulas with fire where really cool. I'm not good enough with dark pictures to use enough flash so that the camera doesn't keep the shutter open and so that you get the fire to be bright with out the entire stage area being bright. So you either on your own or let the camera capture the moving fire and the pattern of the moving fire is the streaks......
metalpeter - 09/22/11 18:01
I didn't notice the sword flying free... What I did see was something covered in fire rolling towards me and I back up and they grabbed it before it hit the grass.... So didn't get a picture of it...
tinypliny - 09/22/11 17:41
Where is the sword flying free photo?
tinypliny - 09/22/11 17:41
Its almost like someone just painted them over your pictures.
tinypliny - 09/22/11 17:40
Wow! Those rings of fire are amazing! Thanks for posting!
metalpeter - 09/20/11 19:49
After this I saw that there was a stand up base so I hung out for a bit... And during that time ran into Cyndi and Keith.... That was nice... I just wish I also got to see all the people in their dresses hoping to post more pix on Wends....
paul - 09/20/11 19:30
We must of just missed you. We were on the other side of the stage. It was scary when the sword flew free.

metalpeter - 09/22/11 17:58
Yeah won't say what she could do to me.... Not only was she pretty but could sing pretty good... I don't remember what type of dance it was....
tinypliny - 09/22/11 17:44
Interesting photographs! That singer is so pretty! :) What kind of dance was the couple with the lady in the blue dress, dancing?

MIA Part 1 2011
Category: photos
So Music is art was great... Yes a bit different this year around Hoyt Lake and the Sledding Hill but it was a lot of fun and it was nice to run into a few (e:Peeps).... Loved all the food trucks being there well here are a few... New camera is awesome so much stuff I have no idea how to do.... Darkness is tough it is amazing what a zoom can do though.... With pregame and football and WWE PPV won't be many... For some reason Having a problem put photos on facebook through the software going to have to figure that out....

Things are moving slow right now so that is it for Part 1....

metalpeter - 09/22/11 17:55
Now in terms of the Dancing each set of partners would come out and do a different Ball Room Dance but I can't remember what ones where What ones... That is one reason why a phone is great when they say what it is you could type it out then click. I thought one was a rumba and I remember them saying that one of the dances was done normally with couple and they mixed it up a bit by having both couples on the stage....
metalpeter - 09/22/11 17:52
The Canoes at the Albright Knox .... Think it looks better in the picture then in person but hey check it out some time even if you just fly past it on elmwood going someplace else...
tinypliny - 09/22/11 17:46
I really like the strange looking sculpture in your second photograph.
tinypliny - 09/22/11 17:46
What dance was in this series of photographs?

Food Trucks redux
Category: politics
So on here and on Facebook I got into the food truck Debate....

-I think they are a great idea
-What got me so upset to begin with is that people where saying here are places that are concerned with their business and so they are pushing for laws that will protect and since they are doing that we won't eat there anymore....
-My main concern was that with them being mobile that a system needs to be in place where if there is a problem you call someone and they come out right a way and make a decision that is binding.. Say I get food poisoning or they have a guy with a big sign in front of my place stealing my customers... then someone comes out or maybe a few people they make a decision as what is to be done on the spot...

-Certain Festivals and places you need a permit for I think Delaware park is one of them... Food trucks should be able to get a permit for those places....

-Police shouldn't be pulling over trucks! unless they do something wrong like run a red light...

-What I thought should have happened was bar owners and street vendors and Pine Hill Coffee trucks, and James the Ice Cream dude and everyone who sells food or drinks should all have a big meeting with law makers and work out what is fair....Cause if I own a Juice stand or what ever is it fair that a truck can drive around and sell juice to people who are running not really......

Not sure what is going on with the great food truck race but hope Lloyds wins....
metalpeter - 09/18/11 09:53
The thing is that two competing places that serve the same type of stuff but that are different say McDonald's and Burger King have been found to be good for each other... Now granted I have no idea if since they figured that out if new research has been done to see if it is still true... But that is why if travel any place and get off at any where in any town or huge city you pretty much see them both some where not to far... Now maybe it is a hardees or Harvey's some where but you get the point....

I do think that more Jim's Steak out more then Just Pizza maybe does have a claim to not like food trucks... Yes all the people here currently are great.. But it does seem (not saying this is true) that all you need is to be like two guys who trick out a truck and people will flock to it.... I can see why they don't want the Whole Hog taking food away from them on Allen as an example.....

That being said I think from a Business side when ever any thing new comes along it can take away the old it doesn't all ways... But these sit down order out fast food kinda places it is natural to think that some day you could be closed by the truck on say the "Chip Strip" . Video didn't really kill the Radio star...Computers didn't kill the type writer.... CDs didn't kill Tapes but there sure aren't many of those things left... So I can see why they are worried...

Now Just Pizza is a little different... People who decide not to go there that I get and here is why they are different... They are Mobile.. Name a festival that they aren't at... and no one could... With them I think they don't want to compete with others. Just Pizza is great if you buy it on Elmwood can't say that is true for them all though.... Not sure how much they do this but they Pimp there shit out or they use to a lot..... Went to one of them years ago out some place and walked in with someone else no slices what the.... Also the pizza wasn't as good.... I think they make a lot of money off selling their name to others and at festivals where they don't have all the different kinds and where they raise the prices... I laugh when I see people buy it at Allen Town it is like walk the two blocks... Really....

Onto MIA for a second it was a great time and loved all the food trucks there.... Roaming Buffalo's was awesome and yeah the Pretty girls helped but the food was really good... Found it kinda funny that Think it was Just Pizza was down there away from like the other food trucks......

What I would really like to see happen is take out politicians who aren't doing any thing anyways on a board... If you walk into mighty taco say and they make it wrong some place doesn't give you your fruit... Pull out the cell phone call that number and these people stationed all over buffalo and burbs (what else they doing anyways ok could use real people I guess) come out make a decision... Of course they would have to teach the mighty taco people how to roll those things so the sour cream runs through the thing instead of being at one end...HA... But other then that....

My point is leave the food trucks alone... Just have some back up thing that hopefully we never need so that both sides are protected so no one does the Gum Salesmen thing from Clerks... Great bit.... Like having People from spot talking about how the coffee sucks near that mobile coffee place is all I'm really saying... On a side note why can't Jim's go Mobile ?
mrmike - 09/17/11 16:56
Well, nothing stopping two coffee places from thriving next to one another, think aroma and starbucks on Elmwood. So, I think that argument has a few flaws in it. I think Just Pizza, ETS and Jim's should concentrate on offering good product and people will come. Asking to preserve their space isn't cool either. Make good stuff people will come. The trucks haven't been by any of these places yet.
