This sounds good:
  1. made with plant based ingredients
  2. quick and complete biodegradability
  3. minimum impact on aquatic life
tinypliny - 09/04/11 20:56
okay I coudn't resist

Complete ingredients list from :::link:::

that is not bad AT ALL.. except for a 4 that could be essential soap chemicals. I learnt about soap and detergent composition in high school but everything is forgotten now. Old age does that to you.
paul - 09/04/11 20:42
I agree I have no idea.
tinypliny - 09/04/11 20:29
Clever. What I would like to know if what comprises the anionic and non-ionic surfactants?

But it does look good. Next time, I am getting this.

Bird Bath
Category: pets
The bird freaked out when I left the computer where he was perched to take a shower so I decided I would take it with me.

At first he perched on the curtain rod. I kept splashing him and he freaked out until he jumped on my shoulder and got blasted with the shower. At first he seemed scared and ran down my arms but then it was right back up under the water where he seemed to really enjoy splashing and cleaning his feathers.

When it was time for me to soap up I put him on the soap rack where he preened his feathers. Its amazing how much smaller he looked when wet.

Afterwards, I blow dried him while he sat on my shoulder. It was so cute.

Bird-Bird's wings are clipped. I think bird-bird thinks its human.
metalpeter - 09/05/11 10:12
I wonder what water is like to a bird? yes it is good to get clean and all but at the same time they need to be able to fly and I would think wet wings and feathers not to mention the added weight would make that tough so.....

On an aside, you have a deadly phone addiction - probably among the 0.0000000000001 % who can't even part with their non-waterproof phones in the shower.

The last photo is the cutest ever! You have to teach him to speak!!

Tugboat Rebecca Lynn Pushes Oil Tanker Down the Canal
Category: buffalo
(e:terry) and I were on a bike ride that included squaw island yesterday. When we got there, a giant oil tanker was bring pushed through the canal. I didn't even know giant oil tankers came through here. Nor did I realize just how big the exhaust pipes on those are. You can see it at the end of the video.

Imagine if that thing spilled. The falls would be destroyed forever.

Here is the half of a bikeride worth of tracking data. I forgot to turn it on during the way there.

metalpeter - 09/05/11 10:08
not that there would be a spill but if there was I think the falls would be fine... The oil would go over the falls and get on the rocks and the power of the water would push it off and then the oil would settle someplace but not sure.... Think the power plant would have to turn of though since you don't want to suck in water and oil or maybe if you could turn it up all the way and turn off the falls almost and just suck down all the water with oil on top of it....

Now me I'm kinda twisted a bit I think the thing that (yes very dangerous ) is wait till the water goes under the bridges and once it hits the rapids (all the last pieces) set that on fire and watch as fire dances on top of the water and goes over the falls and of course have about 40 camera views of it!

tinypliny - 09/04/11 12:26
When I read that title I thought, wow, who is this woman who is singlehandedly polluting the canal?

Little Fancies
Category: alcohol
I went with mini top shelf bottles so that we could taste more flavors without getting sick. The only glaring exception was the UV cake vodka. Believe or not their is no premium cake vodka that I could find, lol. So I went with the next best thing Faretti Biscotti Famosi liqueur has a recipe based on nuts, fennel, citrus and caramel and which tastes like biscotti.

I am particularly excited about frangelico hazelnut liqueur.

I also finally got the Italian lemon frenetic liqueur I wanted for the last million years.

Yeah, a fresh salad with red and black raspberries, Madagascar vanilla, Moroccan citrus peel, honey sounds with cashews and almonds sounds pretty delicious.
paul - 09/04/11 12:31
No wonder chambord royale is so good: "Chambord is made from red and black raspberries, Madagascar vanilla, Moroccan citrus peel, honey and cognac." I should make my own.
paul - 09/04/11 12:06
I never thought I would say this about (e:mike)'s birthday party at his first apartment but it was the most responsible drinking party I was ever at. I was even able to drive completely sober at 2am. I think that mini bottles is the way to go from now on. In face all of them were 50% full when I left and the lemon drink was 3/4 full. Mike promised to keep the lemon drink for me. Lets see how that goes. I at least want my mom to try it.

In general there was enough liquor for each person to have their own personal bottle. I guess (e:mike) and (e:libertad) get a good start at having their own liquor cabinet that they can make mixed drinks with.

For the mini bottles:
Faretti Biscotti - delicious as a mixer - I am not a big fan of fennel.
Frangelico - One of the best tasting liqueurs I ever had. It almost tastes like liquid nutella. I think if you mixed it with a dark chocolate liquor you could make an excellent nutella flavored cocktail.
Chambord Royale: A deep blackberry flavored liquor :::link:::
St Germain: The elderflower taste is so sweet and delicious. Great mixed with champagne.
metalpeter - 09/03/11 19:57
UV Cake sounds interesting...
lilho - 09/03/11 16:43
You're so cute. I can't wait to see you again... Honeybadger is coming too. Caviar fancy mini bottles champagne oysters?! Did I miss anything?
paul - 09/03/11 15:40
They are so tiny.
tinypliny - 09/03/11 15:21
and yet you wonder why people think you encourage drinking.
