whipcreme flavored vodka was awesomeCategory: food
They came out with alcohol infused whip cream. I think the combination might be excessive.

So I get that there is whip cream with vodka in it (wish I had someone to lick it off of even if they aren't hot who cares getting smashed off of whip cream would be amazing) but now do you mean they have whip cream flavored vodka....

(e:mike), apparently your tastes in vanilla and cake flavoured vodka are impeccable. I sampled a few mls of your latest finds and it was fun. I can't think of a better way to feed the "world's best christmas cake ever". :::link::: :)

Trip Down Sketchy LaneCategory: mobile
So my nexus one's SD card died. Not sure what happend, I think it just reached its natural lifespan. Anyways, the card appeared empty but was not totally crashed so I mounted it in linux and ran dd to make a copy of the contents.
Then I ran photorec on it to try an extract the files
Its nice because I could run the photorec right on the disk extract so I had no fear about ruining the car any further.
It extracted thousands of files. Whats scary is that most of the files had been deleted for months if not years. I guess thats the nature of storage devices but holy crap, you think something is gone from your phone and its not.
I would never ever sell a phone ever again. In fact it makes me want to buy old phones just to look at people information.
Once I extracted all of the data I started coming through it for things. I search my name and matt's name. The weirdest thing was that matt's full name was embedded in a Pink - God is DJ song I bought from itunes. What is apple up to there. Is it to prevent file sharing or allow tracking. The weird thing is he never listened to that song and it was bought on terry's account using terry's computer. Somehow they have us all linked.

So basically, all that porn you looked at on your phone and personal information you stored and thought you cleared out - its all still there waiting for someone to discover it. I mean its the same with a computer, but you don't accidentally drop your computer out of your pocket.
From now on, I want everything mobile encrypted like my computer. Its not really an issue with android specifically but with any unencrypted drive.

In the end, maybe all those sci-fi paranoia they-are-totally-watching-and-tracking-you movies are true...
I was somewhat surprised at first that Google+ had suggested my name as a circle friend to you.. but then it was easy to figure out they mined your gmail contacts.

I don't like itunes. For a while there, (e:himay) and I had a music swapping experiment going. I coudn't play most of his songs even though they were unencrypted just because they have some complex linking stuff going on with the music they sell. The metadata on their mp3 or m4a or whatever format they are using now is all enmeshes WITHIN the song, so you can't strip them out without damaging or segmenting the song data itself.
Anyway, apple is like all_things_jennifer to me. same blind hatred.

this is so disturbing... and what if some designed some "cool" android marketplace app that people loved and extracted all of this secretly under the broad license and your consent that it can access most of your phone..

I don't even understand half of it. There are all of these gif files but inside them are like fragments of website text I visited altogether. Its not cookies but something way more intense. Or maybe its just the cache files all mashed together during recovery.

Its so much worse than I thought. All of the things you mistyped when typing things you wouldn't want kept are inserted into the freakin dictionary files. I wonder how much sensitive information ends up in people's dictionary files. Mind you I didn't even explore the actual phone, this is just the external SD card.

The very fact that I do online banking creeps me out sometimes... and I am sure my taxes and SSN are on this comp. Maybe I should just do all financial and administrative stuff on linux... thoughts?

I am more concerned about the lifespan of this phone. I know about how it is designed to die just as the new one comes out.. but hey! I don't want to go back to my lame no fancy screen phone or even that bulky google phone version one.. I kind of like this phone.

That is scary. Which is probably why I just accumulate laptops and computers and whatnots and diligently strip out hard disks out of every desktop I have ever owned before giving them to someone (rarely, if ever)
And SO sketchy about that itunes thing! How on earth? Do you guys have a joint account or something? Or do you have a music tracking and taste service in itunes like last.fm?
