We went out to the outer harbor sunday night for the final part of citybration. We originally went for the hot air balloon ride but I was not about to pay $15 to go 40 ft up. What's the point of going in a hot air balloon that doesn't even go as high as your house.
They said it had to do with the wind but there was barely any wind for a waterfront location. Maybe, whoever planned it should have thought about that.
metalpeter - 06/27/11 17:33 only 40 feet and not 100 that is to bad but glad ya'll got to go....

Massive Fire Near Airport Category: buffalo
You could see the smoke plume from downtown. I wonder what it is?
uncutsaniflush - 06/27/11 18:59 Apparently, this was a fire at Twin City Recycling at Broadway and Indian Road at the Cheektowaga-Lancaster border. :::link:::
metalpeter - 06/27/11 17:37 It was so odd I saw it walking down Broadway and it looked like it was way down then as I crossed over the tracks and over near home depot it looked like it is in a different spot.... Wish I had a camera with me or a camera phone .... Today on my way home I also wished that cause I say my First Pride Billboard It says something about lesbian or gay and that we all work with you daily and all the rainbow is made by the peoples shirts but not sure what they all say one says solider .. It is on Broadway coming from the fire towards Downtown Near the Home Depot....

Server Maintenance? Category: estrip
The sprinkler got left on. The basement filled up with water. Luckily I have the server 6 ft up. Right now I can't even get to it without mopping up water.
matthew - 06/27/11 22:38 Opps.... It was a soaker hose, not a sprinkle.
fing - 06/27/11 22:20 You need a good disaster recovery site.
tinypliny - 06/27/11 21:50 So did your basement get a thorough cleaning?
metalpeter - 06/27/11 17:38 That is crazy that leaving a sprinkler on out side would flood the basement...

The best decision ever Category: housing
Not buying this house on North behind the linor several years ago. It would have ruined our lives.
I hope I never see any part of my house in this condition.
tinypliny - 06/26/11 19:09 Had you bought it, this would not have happened.
How's that for a guilt trip?

Steves clam shack at the harbor Category: food
I think its the same guy from elmwood. The menu is pretty similar. We got Fanny bay oysters and steamed clams. I wish I took pics but my hands were full of delicious shell fish.
I ordered the Fanny bay and he tried to sell me into trying a variety. I said I am pretty sure I like the Fanny bay and he said they were the best but he likes to save them for himself ;) They were really good.
only 40 feet and not 100 that is to bad but glad ya'll got to go....
