Oddly, this is a follow up to (e:heidi,49711) and the cheese conversation. They're from a tiny village called Germania in Potter County, Pa. Germania has one of the oldest continuously running volunteer fire departments in the state, the Goodyear Hose Company #1.
Germania Hotel (I have some pretty cool pix of the inside - just amazing that the place hasn't been abandoned.)

Real sharp cheddar

LootCategory: food
I went in the Can Can Candy store on elmwood after hitting the coop for lunch. The hot bar choices sucked so I got some discontinued amy's organics freezer food and mango sorbet. And then I got all this loot! Not the aqarius game... That just looked pretty with the candy. All my childhood favorites :-)

Wow - I have actually not had any of it. Well... I think I may have tasted starburst but I haven't even heard of any of the others.

Oh man I loved fun dip. I probably ate a metric ton if that stuff as a child. Looking back I wonder if cocaine was its inspiration.

Cabot with wax coating? I'll have to check it out. In the meantime, I've got this one.

I gotta try that fancy Cabot :-)
Yeah, I like local cheddar cheeses a lot - the texture is sometimes dryer, a little more crumbly than regular packaged cheeses, and a fresh sharpness. Yum!

I also buy a much cheaper cheese at Guercio's. It is made in NY and I think much better than Helluva Good Cheese which I think tastes kind of oily.

That's good too. This is what I buy now when I want an extra special cheese. It is at Wegmans in the same section you would find the cheese you already have. This is exactly what it looks like. :::link:::
I think it is about $8.
I really like that cheese on these Herbes de Provence flatbread crackers. :::link:::

Years ago my favie professor (and Melville Scholar) Seymour Gross) glossed Samuel Beckett's mesage as "fail. fail better." And told us Beckett was an optimist. But I agree it is a very rude parking meter.

How funny that (e:mrmike) would post that title... The Grateful Dead version of this American traditional has been on an inaccessible edge of my consciousness since posting all those bluegrass tunes.
The video on this is terrible but the sound quality seems to be better than average. Alpine Valley, 1989.

I love that song, too. It does stay with ya.
I enjoy seeing Sonic Garden and was kinda annoyed to have missed that St. Paddy's show. Dark Star Orchestra @ Canalside this summer... It may be the closest I get to Dead show until fall.

LOL cheese bitch!
the post was called cheese and there were only two pictures of cheese. can you say "rip off"!?
Yum
Yes, it does. :-)
I have more pix from that weekend that are worth sharing... maybe I'll do that if I take a break sometime this weekend. They're making me giggle just reviewing them.
Haha, does that guy's apron say "cheese bitch"? :)
Yummy, that cheese looks amazing.
