Favourite movie, Favourite scene
Category: the odes
I though this was a swell idea of (e:matthew)'s (but I can't see his post anymore). So the concept is to post a simple screenshot of the favourite scene from your favourite movie.

Here is mine:

I love the music, the dance the whole concept, the flowing tattoo map that forms out of nowhere, the drums, the drama and the breathtaking awesomeness of this scene. From "The Fall".

I really liked this movie.

The Fall Is a pretty cool movie.... Not that I even know how to take a normal screen shot of a PC let alone one from a movie even if I did it would be pretty tough to make up my mind of favorite scene from a movie.... Or is it favorite movie and then a good scene from that movie there is a big difference between those two....

Subletting in Queens, NYC
Category: flat hunt
My brother is moving out of his big and happy 1 bedroom flat to move closer to his workplace in Manhattan. But his landlord won't let him out of the 2 year lease he signed. :(

Would any of you happen to know of anyone who wants to live in a nice 1 bedroom in Forest Hills, Queens for a year on a sublet?

Here is his ad on Craigslist:

I just remembered your friend in NYC and shot her an email... of the off chance that she might know of someone who wants a place!

hahaha - yes, he does have more furniture. Well, technically he has a bed and a chair extra... and I have a pygmy table instead of a regular one. :)

Your brother has more furniture than you?

According to Google, its the 160th Anniversary of the First World's Fair.

I love this really cool illustration on the Google homepage with the gold ornamented magnifying glass and several random fun animations as the magnifying glass hovers over details.

I had to look up what it was all about. According to wikipedia:

The first Expo was held in The Crystal Palace in Hyde Park, London, United Kingdom in 1851 under the title "Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations".

And then I realized that the Pan American Exposition in Buffalo in 1901 was a World's Fair! Those were the glory days for our city. Look at all the pomp and circumstance...

But has it come back after the pink took over?

PS: I am not very obsessed with accuracy when I record my diet. I just record approximations. If I can have a fair idea of whether I am eating right, I am pretty happy. After a while, you just approximate quantities and you get pretty good at it. If not for this tool, I would never really have know how terribly high my sodium intake is...

I stopped measuring. It was too time consuming and I have resigned to having orange tongue forever. At the dentist yesterday they said it could be a reaction to the metal or even possibly the dental cement.

They said they could replace it with a less reactive gold tooth but if its the cement it might make it worse and so I should wait it out a bit more.
