I believe it is the only place in town where you can get Turkish coffee. So freakin good! Of course, everything is great there.

funny that we live so close yet have only been there a couple of times. i wish they were open 30 minutes earlier so i could grab something on the way to work in the mornings....

A gem of a place. I've enjoyed everything I have ordered from there. I'm overdue for a visit for their Turkish coffee, my personal favorite.

Peace and boarded up buildings
Category: art
Someone doesn't like peace. I am divided on if I like it when they paint the boards on boarded up buildings. Does it look better?

I updated this. It makes a lot more sense with the photo.

Oh wow odd maybe it looks artsy ?
metalpeter - 03/12/11 14:58
I think if they paint them the same color as the building then it makes it less of an eyesore from far away it also makes it not a target from far away... Wood boards a mile a way almost yell come inside and hide... I also wonder does the paint help protect the boards any.....

Neitsches Microwave
Category: food
Last night at the artvoice Mardi gras party, (e:Mike) and I saw one of the patrons with a whole bunch of frozen food. Which seems like a weird thing to bring to a bar until you consider there is an accessible 80s style microwave between the men's and women's bathroom. Okay, its still strange.

He shoved a paper box along with several bags full of frozen food and set the microwave to high for 24 minutes. I can only imagine how nasty that turned out, not to mention full of weird toxins from the plastic.

I have never noticed that there before... My cousin was part of a show there where they had food provided but what I don't get is why would a bar let you bring food in?
tinypliny - 03/09/11 16:52
Ew. I have seen several people just microwave foods wrapped in the flimsy shrink wrap, have these wraps melt on their food and then pick out the bits and eat it all as if it didn't matter.

24 minutes? Ugh.
