First Day of Vacation
Category: work
I have to burn up my remaining vacation time before it expires April 1. I am not actually going anywhere because I can't afford to, plus (e:hodown) and (e:lilho) are coming to town and it is (e:matthew) and (e:keithT)'s birthday.

So day one, I ended up working from 12-5PM. Great.

It started with an emergency phone call about a system that was not working. I didn't change anything so I really didn't expect it was my system. It wasn't, then it was just one thing after another.

Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.

Parking on the Lawn
Category: linwood
I guess the church folk next door are not the only people that think parking on the lawn is acceptable. The people at the trashiest house on the street do the same thing. Their lawn is so jacked up now.

I love how they threw in some wood planks to try and make it parkable. This house is one plot that would be better off as a parking lot.

Ew. where is this?
flacidness - 03/14/11 13:58
That is so nasty....

I can't believe how much there is between the sidewalk and the street. Why not just put down a cement pad there and use it as a driveway or is that not allowed?

Made in America Store
Category: shopping
I headed down to the made in America store in Elma with (e:libertad) and (e:Mike). They had some interesting stuff including some nice outdoor grills and firepits. In the parking lot they had giantist snowman I ever saw.

I ended up buying raw honey and beef jerky.

eWWW. (I don't want to make this a trend but really, this does totally ask for a emphasized ew.)

That Huge Snowman thing is wild...........
jbeatty - 03/14/11 14:37
That snowman reminds me why I hate this time of year. Everyone is sick, whats left of the snow is black, and all of the trash that was discarded is starting to appear. Apparently popular on Linwood Ave. the tire marks where all the idiots drove on the grass are making themselves visible.
theecarey - 03/13/11 15:30
Imagine the size of that snowman before it melted down?!

I have a pair of something that resembles those leaf scoops. They are wonderfully helpful in yard clean up work. Nice to know where I can pick up another pair when needed.

I believe it is the only place in town where you can get Turkish coffee. So freakin good! Of course, everything is great there.
leetee - 03/12/11 23:54
funny that we live so close yet have only been there a couple of times. i wish they were open 30 minutes earlier so i could grab something on the way to work in the mornings....
theecarey - 03/12/11 20:18
A gem of a place. I've enjoyed everything I have ordered from there. I'm overdue for a visit for their Turkish coffee, my personal favorite.

Peace and boarded up buildings
Category: art
Someone doesn't like peace. I am divided on if I like it when they paint the boards on boarded up buildings. Does it look better?

I updated this. It makes a lot more sense with the photo.

metalpeter - 03/14/11 17:18
Oh wow odd maybe it looks artsy ?
metalpeter - 03/12/11 14:58
I think if they paint them the same color as the building then it makes it less of an eyesore from far away it also makes it not a target from far away... Wood boards a mile a way almost yell come inside and hide... I also wonder does the paint help protect the boards any.....
