Testing new app version
Category: testing
It seems to work.

Its not that intuitive. The only reason I figured it out is because the iphone had it that way and so I tried when I got the nexus.
heidi - 09/16/10 18:44
Yep, it works. *blush* thank you for the instructions.
paul - 09/16/10 18:39
Your gallery app doesn't let you select multiple images? I can't remember if that came after 2.2 or not but basically the steps are:

1. Open gallery
2. Long press on any image and it brings up checkboxes next to the images.
3. Select the images you want.
4. Hit menu, share, select estrip and it attaches all of them.
heidi - 09/16/10 18:35
it's a pain to add more than a couple images from the phone - too many steps. (open estrip app, tap the gallery icon, navigate to the first picture, it returns to the app, tap the gallery again, repeat....)

nice, I am glad it is working. When you get a chance, try one with like 5-6 images that is when the problem was occurring on my phone before the update.

Kristen Becker vs. Carl Paladino
Last Thursday at the Dykes of Hazard Variety Hour, Kristen Becker told a story about her interaction with Carl Paladino at Roxy's one night... Luckily, it was video'd by the folks at www.wnymedia.net.

The Washington insider rag Politico picked it up on the 10th. And tonight, Rachel Maddow talked to www.wnymedia.net guy Mark Odien [clip]. No mention of Kristen's completely NSFW video, but it's cool that her video is bringing more attention to wnymedia's exposure of his racist, sexist, bestiality-laden emails; crazy policy proposals, and all-around ick.

That dude is CRAZY! ...even for a politician.
vincent - 09/14/10 22:43
It looks like he's going to take it.

In reality that describes a ton of people that I've encountered in WNY. I guess the prototype extends statewide as they all voted for him and it never even crossed their minds.

I've been taking jaunts across the state recently, and it's surprising how many Paladino lawn signs and bumper stickers I've seen. Saw a huge row of those signs in West Seneca (probably a rental mogul putting signs everywhere, my best guess).

Can't believe that crap with the e-mails didn't completely euthanize his campaign. That's a shock and a half.

Wet nisha
Category: home
Nisha dipped her front paws in the amd pond so she got a shower when we got home. I rinsed it off her as soon as I realized she had done it... Ugh strong sulfur smell. I think she drank a little too cuz she coughed a lot and puked once on the rest of the hike. I hope she doesn't get cancer or something from it.

What is AMD?

First tracks post
Category: home
This route isn't recommended. We did not travel across the body of water... it's the AMD pond I mentioned in the last post.

The track is also not complete because the phone was out of battery. We walked the road back to my truck.

Not sand run falls
Category: home
My friend J and I have been having fun forging new trails in the tioga state forest outside of arnot, pa., and not getting to sand run falls. There's a perfectly nice marked, maintained trail to sand run falls from the arnot road, but being the oddballs we are, we have been refusing to take it, knowing there's a more obscure shorter path from Landrus Road. (I'm hoping my Tioga County friends don't read this but it's kinda embarrassing but funny.)

I tried out the android tracks app for our adventure. Ran out of battery before we finished but we were nearly on the road by then. Tracks is cool but the elevation gain stat is weird, it seems to record every foot up, not a net gain. So we went over 700 feet up, but min and max elevation were 1543 & 1905, still significant.

We found a huge old boney (shale) pile, waste from coal mining. Then we found a disgusting amd holding pond that the babb's creek watershed folks have been remediating for at least 20 years. Didn't take phone pix of it but did take real camera pix that I'll try to post soon.
