I can't believe this is still like this
Everyday I tell myself today is the day I am going to resolve this and then I do ten other things.

Somehow I still haven't managed to fix it. I wonder if I will someday sell the house like this.
matthew - 07/31/10 09:47
Lol. I started to strip the paint off tge doorway the day after we moved into tge house. That was 4 years ago and I haven't touched it since. It drives Paul nuts.
tinypliny - 07/31/10 08:31
Wild guess. The power socket has too many plugs?
jenks - 07/31/10 07:56

matthew - 07/30/10 22:13

Belgian beer garden on elmwood sucks
Category: food
I was walking down Elmwood and decided to take a pic of the progress on the new belgian beer garden in the former Merlin's spot

I was going to say something positive until the people working on it yelled at me and said I wasn't allowed to take pics without permission.

Well fuck you. If you want to be secret wrap it in black fabric like its some new secret iPhone. You don't need permission to take pictures of building from the outside. I can say now is fuck you. What the hell is Elmwood turning into.

Great way to lose customers before you even open.

That thing about the train is crazy. Any Place in public you can take pictures of. As long as you are taking it from a public spot. That reminds me I was supposed to start on a picture project of taking train cars with tags on them. Taking pictures from side walk or street ok, crossing tracks to take the pictures bad idea!!!!!
vincent - 07/31/10 12:38
(e:jenks) that is totally messed up as an entire subculture of "Railfans" just exist to take pictures/videos of trains.
jenks - 07/31/10 07:55
I just read some article about some guy getting arrested/sued for taking pictures of trains at a train station. Apparently you're not allowed to do that. WTF??

The place looks cool. Hopefully it won't turn out to suck.
paul - 07/30/10 17:51
Thanks, mobile phone typo. I have no idea if it was the owner or just a worker.
vincent - 07/30/10 17:48
you may want to put the M in elmwood just to make sure that people find your post. Too F'ing Funny Rich people trying to intimidate people with their pseudo legal release B.S.

Why don't they try to tell that to Google Street View? Ha Ha!

The Slideshow option sounds amazing.......
paul - 07/30/10 19:19
It looks a little better now and I added a slideshow option. Tested in firefox and chrome. Assume it works in safari. Maybe not in IE. Not sure.
metalpeter - 07/30/10 18:17
haven't tried it yet but sounds like a great idea
jim - 07/30/10 16:03

Before and after haircut
Category: haircuts
Sadly I really prefer the before pic, even though I look a little rediculous. At least it will grow back.

The continental is no more
It was weird to see the giant hole in the ground.

I think you went there for "The 3rd Floor". Not sure if there really was one but that is the hook up rumor place. I think the reason I didn't go was that I didn't really know about the place. Back when I was in school (Canisius, school and going to school and swimming took a lot of time). Also I think that when it was at its peak I was into bands like Dre and Snoop but I don't really know the timming so I could be wrong about that.............
libertad - 08/01/10 09:31
I had some good times there. I'm really shocked (e:metalpeter) that you never went there. You do so much more than I do in Buffalo, I just assumed you would have liked this place. I never went for bands but more to satisfy my goth side...hehe
metalpeter - 08/01/10 08:57
I never made it to the Continental for believe it or not some of the same reasons I don't get to Diablo Very often
1. Bands I have never heard of (Doesn't mean they aren't good)
2. Often late starting time (even more true of mohawk place)
3. Needing to be up early for work
4. Not exposed or knowing how people know what is going on there
My Point is I have no way to compare them

In terms of the bathrooms yeah they are a bit small, I got ya there. What I like about Diablo is the set up and all the Devil stuff and if there is something I want to see on the stage. I think If I lived downtown I would go there more often, besides I know of (if someone else does help me out) no bars that are rock music bars (meaning they play it and not have performances).

The thing I wonder if anyone knows about club diablo is what is on the 2nd and 3rd floor? It seems a bit rude to ask someone and what if asking is like an a way to go see and it isn't something I want to see.

I think going there would be a great idea, great idea for an (e:strip) excursion, I would like to go and check the place out. I being me would have to do the taking pictures of the place (no flash) and if there is a stage of any kind (flash). I'm sure it would be a great time.....
vincent - 07/30/10 21:03
(e:metalpeter) Personally I think Diablo is just a lame failed attempt to replace that the Cont was all about. Almost 20K in stainless steel bathroom fixtures does not make up for the fact that the place has one toilet per washroom. When some chick gets her Ke$ha on and yacks all of the place it's over, where else are you going to go to do your business? Plus I feel like I'm partying in someone's single wide trailer. At least with the old Cont you had room room to move around.

If you ever want to go to Rochester sometime and experience "A Living Continental" let me know. Actually that offer goes for anyone from this site. We could make it an (e:strip) excursion and meet (e:kookcity2000) there at Vertex.
metalpeter - 07/30/10 18:04
First of all (e:Terry) I love that shirt, I saw it in white at 464 but only in medium sometimes they feel tight, not sure if it mockery or priase of war and drinking and guns but I like it.

(e:vincent) Diablo kinda as you know took over that spot a little bit. I just have to add that the lady I think she has a blog or used to have one on here (not that I know her) Technoir is pretty hot, not sure how she is alligned with that club but I know she moved there at least to cover that scene and maybe more
vincent - 07/30/10 17:52
Yea, but now since Buffalo destroyed their Goth Club, I have to go to Rochester to hook up with females who cut themselves and shop at Hot Topic :-(

To me that was my own personal "Old Pink!" I never had trouble finding a friend for the night in there...

Plus the history of all the bands that played there is gone forever. Just think of Johnny from the Goo Goo Dolls as he bounced there back in the day.
tinypliny - 07/30/10 14:56
What was the continental? A hotel? Where was this?
matthew - 07/30/10 10:25
That place was a 'giant hole in the ground' before they knocked it down. I mean that in the best way possible.
