The National Rockin' at the KnoxCategory: concerts
I was pleasantly surprised by the event last night. The crowd was well behaved with the exception of the typical cloud of smoke that seems to hover around every WNY outdoor concert. It seemed that they were there just to be seen and to support the Knox, which is fine and good in my book.
Just to be perfectly honest the only reason why I went was to see The National and Matt did not leave me disappointed at all. Here is the final song "Terrible Love." Plus I have to say the way it ended left me left me ecstatically shocked! It was good to see that he kept the momentum up from the Radio City show 2 nights earlier. Totally reminds me of the Pearl Jam Even Flow video back in the day.

I actually thought of this song when I first heard Alejandro. Why "borrow" music nowadays when it is so easily referenced?

I have just been into Depeche Mode lately. I went out on Friday night and heard 3 of their songs! So here is one of their songs
It's funny but with Depeche Mode I didn't really like Songs of Faith and Devotion back in the day. To be honest I just thought it was them being "Grunge" as it was out at the same time as Nirvana and Pearl Jam's 10. But it really has become one of my favorite albums. I think what screwed it up for me as my first girlfriend was really into it at the time and there was thing insane tension and drama after we broke up. It's crazy how someone can just ruin a song or band for you, at least in this case I came back to it but only after I saw this performance live.

eh, they're not really SP anymore. I went to Tampa last year as they were playing there on my birthday (and I lived in Orlando for so long)...it was HORRIBLE. At one point he was standing on stage playing the kazoo for a good 20 minutes. People booed them, Billy told them to leave if they don't like it....was really sad :(

I was over on the left side of the stage with (e:joshua), sound mix was a little crappy, but the band put on a great show
(e:vincent), I think I was standing close to you for the National. They were amazing -- every bit as good as promised and then some.
Rufus was also amazing in his own way -- but I expected that. The National was my personal revelation of the evening.
