Fake Empire
Category: concerts
The National "Fake Empire" off of Boxer.
Rockin' at the Knox 2010

The first song that I ever saw live by The National, as well as the first full song that I ever watched from my seat at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre.

The National were awesome. Went there with Josh and the object of my affections. Did you see Atlas Sound? It is a one person act, Bradford Cox from Deerhunter, who are also really awesome. He is a very talented and creative guy - on his latest album he did collabs with Panda Bear from Animal Collective and also Laetitia Sadier from Stereolab. Honestly I was just as stoked to see him as The National and it was a great time. Didn't see all of Rufus but what I saw I enjoyed immensely.

I checked out that version, WOW great stuff!

This is one of my favie Leonard Cohen songs. I think Rufus sings just about better than anyone. But I have to say that I am quite fond of John Cale's live version from the 1990s.
