Shopping Update + Summer UPDATE
Category: summer

UPDATE: Just wanted to add a few Pictures!!!!!!!!!

On Saturday after I went to see The Prince Of Persia, I went to tops to get food. When I was there I saw that they now sell Mexican Coke in Bottles. I think they where 4 for 5$ but they where indivual bottles not in a case. When I went to the cold section I saw them there also, man it was tempting to buy a few bottles. But there was also a lot of alcohol I wanted to try. Sminorf now makes a lemonade, like mikes that really looked good.
My Mother went shopping on Sunday so I went with her to Tops Niagara and bought more food that was on sale. Hey I get stuff that I like when it is on sale. It is so weird to go shopping two days in a row. Oh yeah (e:Enknot) it was nice to talk to you for a couple minutes. Tops on Niagara had the Coke in Bottles there also but I had so much I didn't pick any up. One of things I did get on saturday was a recomended by (e:Jason) I think. Johnie Ryan cola was very good and so was the orange thanks........

Both earlier in the month and Saturday at tops and then some sunday really got me thinking about how it is really summer now. Well or maybe it is the temp that makes me think that way. The one thing that I don't like about my place it there is no place to really BBQ, even if it is just throwing something like a burger on for a few. That is because I don't have a porch or any thing. For those of you who do have them be thankful and use them. I mean the porch and or a place to grill if you can do both on the porch even better. There is nothing quite like drinking a lemonade (assuming it is as tastry as the companies make it look) or and ice cold coke (I love pepsi but it just isn't the same image) relaxing on a porch with a tasty burger or some other piece of meat. Yum Summer. This reminds me of an old MTV ad. It went along the lines of Pop It open Pop it open MTV, and they had these summer images, it was great. So on one of the following ads MTV had been on a can and some one pops it open and drinks it and spits it out and the line was "Hey we never said you could drink it", it was to funny back then. But there is something About the Summer and cooking on a grill, or even just going someplace for a burger and looking over the water.

For those that think Summer hasn't started yet The Allentown Art Festival starts in about 2 weeks. There are many people who bash it and they make some good points. But there are also local artists who have some cool stuff there, or atlesat local enough that they are also at the Elmwood Festival of the Arts. I assume that The Allentown West Festival is going on as well, and then this weekend is Pride weekend, other then the Parade not sure what that is so That Area of Allen is going to get pretty busy for 2 weekends in a row I'm sure. Oh yeah wait Sat. I'm supposed to be going to see the stripteasers at Nietheches.

Allentown Art Festival:

Back to Allentown. There is something going on with it that is really going to be pretty cool. If I understand this right on June 12th and 13th at Good Carmel Recording Studios on Franklin (Where music is art used to be) they are having as Mark Freland Display. I admit I'm not really a fan of his art but It will be nice to see. What I want to see is on Sunday 3pm. There will be a MIA press conferance. This I can't miss, I want to get there early. I don't know if it will be inside or outside if there will be 30 or 3,000 people But I want to be there. One other reason is that they had this photo contest last year for MIA and I would like to see the winning pictures and find out who won. I admit If I won something it would be amazing but I'm guessing if I did , I would have been told all ready but hey who knows it should be a great time.
MUSIC IS ART:

MIA on Facebook:
Oh this reminds me of something. At Many events we all wind up people watching. I'm no different. Sometimes my mind is on gettiing pictures of the event. This is why often my camera will be inhand and I run into people and don't think to snap there photo quick if you see the camera just ask and I'll shoot one and we can go back to what ever we where talking about.

Working this week will suck, the hot I can deal with but doing the 5 days work in 4 days will be tough. But this weekend will be fun the party at (e:PMT)'s with the Peterazzi in full effect sunday I'm sure I'll check out the Parade and then Friday stripteasers Hello Summer.

Parade Routes:

Main Page:

Well I Think I have said all about that I can say. Hoping everyone is having a great Holiday weekend, and if it wasn't all ready summer is now here, I just hope we all know how to have that peak amount of fun with out overduing it.

Prince of Persia + A-Team
Category: movies
(e:Enknot) wrote a great review of Prince of Persia, he did a much better Job then I could do. I thought the movie was very good. It is nice to see a tiny bit of a love story, with one liners, and a good story and kings and battles and action. I thought it was pretty good.

I have to say one thing about the movies that I saw a preview for, and have seen this same preview numbers of time. The A-Team. I have some mixed feelings about this movie.
1. Yes it is great that they Finaly made an A-Team Movie
2. Here is an idea it should have been Made years ago like maybe a couple years after the show went off the air.
3. This Action movie will be Pretty Good
4. Liam Nesson will be Pretty good

But Here is my problem. What made the A-team so good wasn't the action (ok I was little maybe it was the action) it was the same thing that makes House so good. The Characters. Hanibal I can being redone and he will be close. But BA, Face, and Murdock I'm sorry you can't really re do them.

The counter point to that is, even if you had all the same actors it would still be a bit different anyways. Movies and TV are different Media and so they tell the story differently. This is often true of when a movie spawns a TV show think Terminator and Clone wars.

In any Even I enjoyed Prince of Persia and look forward to The A-Team. Even though I have never seen the Cartoon Avatar:The Last Airbender it looks like it will be a great movie also, lets hope so.

Colas
So I can admit that I Don't know if I have blogged about Cola before. I don't know if I can say what I'm trying to get across really. I am not going to get into the Soda Pop debate and talk about Ice Cream Sodas and all of that. Doing that is kinda Point less really.

When I was growing up I had never heard of Fago or what ever that cheap Pop that ICP likes go through a truck load full of at a show. When I was growing up there where 3 Colas. They Each had there own taste and there own thing.

Royal Crown was the 3rd Cola but it was on Par (still good) with the other two. I remember it only came in 2 liter bottles. I have no idea how to say it tasted different then Coke and Pepsi but there where those that thought it was the best tasting. I liked it. But now a days it is thought of as the cheap pop and has been pushed to the side.

I admit that I miss those glass Bottles. If any of my relatives are reading this do you remember what that brand was in Glass bottles, I may have had at your home. At the aunts house at christmas there where was this glass bottle soda that I don't know the name of that was pretty good. The point is that Cola or any thing you drink has a different taste out of plastic, Glass or cans. Yes glass breaks and is a mess, but I think that it made the Cola colder, but not sure about that. I loved the Pepsi and Coke out of those tall Glass Bottles. Yes I bought the Mexican (with american stickers of some kind on it) from wegmans. Those bottles I think are smaller then the size the bottles used to be.

I like Coca-Cola. I remember when they Changed their Recipe and it pissed a lot of people off (not when they took the cocaine out I wasn't alive then). People got so upset that they "if you believe them went back to the old Formula. They then called that Coca-Cola Classic and Just kept the new stuff coke so you could tell what you where buying. I admit not sure what wound up happening to that and what you drink it when you drink it now. I like coke because it reminds you of the old times and it has that international tie in. If you have ever seen those ads with the large glass bottles you know what I mean. But there are events like the olympics that they have sponsored since before Pepsi was around. It is a more old time feel and is more classic. That being said it also seems more fizzy also. I can drink Pepsi every day with no problems. But coke does some bad stuff to me if I drink it to many days in A row.

Pepsi is my Cola of Choice. I like the name and the taste better not sure why but it is what I prefer. That being said to me that is the Young, cool, and Hip cola to drink. Pepsi sounds Asian to me, plus their symbol is a take off of a Ying Yang. Their new symbol I don't like as much as the previous one.
I have tried many types of coke and Pepsi. Pepsi Vanilla
tastes like Cola with Vanilla, where as Vanilla coke tastes like Vanilla mostly, Coke wins that one.

For years Cherry Coke was very tasty. The Pepsi fans wanted Cherry Pepsi and I will admit it is Pretty Good but Coke wins out again I'm sorry to say, The Cherry Pepsi (wild cherry now) Just isn't the same. I tried this new Cherry Vanilla Pepsi a few days ago and it was very good.

I can't keep up with all the kinds of Coke and Pepsi there have been to many like Pepsi Blue (that was good) and the clear Pepsi (that didn't always taste the same to me), and the Lemon Pepsi (now only in diet I think) then there was lime or diet coke with lime. I wish I could find the Lemon Pepsi in non diet.

For those of us who are young we think all these flavors are new and great and what a way to make cola taste great, that is true but not really. I found out that back in the old days that this was kinda a standard thing. You could go to a place not sure if they where malt shops, or soda shops or just a place to eat and you could get flavored cola. Now I don't know if the idea was from the people who made the cola or from the shops them selves. I remember being someplace with my family years ago and you could get cola with chocolate added that sounded really good but I wasn't brave enough to try it.

I don't have a point other then to say go out and try some cola someplace, and have a good time.

Ok one thing I need to touch on: The Harness: When I first saw them and leashes was in Canada. My first thought was that it was cruel or just wrong. But then once I thought about it, I decided it only looks that way and is really a great idea. The modern form of this is a back pack version. Little kids move pretty fast sometimes and since they are short they are easy to lose, very easy. You try and see someone as high as a pair of knees and and thiner then a pair of normal legs among legs it can be tough. The Back Pack version is even better. I think it is a great idea and wish more parents would do it. That being said it isn't to be used as a leash, like that is far enough from mom come over here so I can emotionaly smother you or a hard tug like you would with a dog. Ok back to the walk.

Good Bye and Thank you 24
Category: tv
So Tonight is the Series Finale of 24. Every show must end at some time and now is 24's time. I think that people in the entertainment industry need to come up with some correct terms for when a show ends. I have seen many shows that I really enjoyed Cancelled . When a show is cancelled the Network says no more, we don't want any more episodes, I've also seen shows pulled in mid season when they had more episodes they could show. I don't really get the entire ratings system but that is what causes most cancelations. But then you have other shows Where the story just needs to end. I don't know much about lost, but that is an example. I remember I used to watch a show called Millenium and I thought well once we get into the new Millenium and we all live then what will the show do and it went on. There needs to be a term for when the people who make the show say this is where it ends or they agree with the network that it is time to move on to something else. This is the case of what happened with 24. Keifer acts and produces and he thought this is where the show should end so it will tonight and Cancelled is the wrong word.

24 does have a lot of critics, including people who watch the show. Yes there is a formula they often follow of a mole, and twists and Jack winds up all ways being correct in the end and things like that. But any show has a forumla or a way that it works. I admit I miss the message boards they where a lot of fun aka Forums. Most people where there cause they loved the show. Plus it was fun to guess what would happen, and people would talk about how something didn't make sense, and then others would counter that. But even for those who bashed it some there they where still watching it because they liked it. Yes there where some who did stop watching it but that was the minortiy.

Why I liked it:
1. The Real time thing: Yes there are some little things in it like no travel time, and how do you go for 24 hours with out a bathroom. But it is real TV time, where travel takes how long you say it does and things like that. The time was a bit off becuase of adds. But one thing I really liked about the breaks is when they come back and you get those little pieces of what was going on............

2. Action: There is no way in a blog that I could cover all the action of one season let alone the entire series. The Action scenes are shot great and it isn't just lets blow things up, but that is part of it. It isn't lets just tourture this guy. I don't have a % but many of the scenes also of dialouge. The ones that doen't have talking int hem still move the story along. There have been shot outs and explosions and escapes and all kinds of amazing action scenes.

3. The Story: Lets face it action is great but with out the story it is kinda pointless. With 24 though I think that with a couple exceptions (The Famous Kim cougar story got bashed a lot) the story could hold it own as a series by itself. There are plots and then these people are really supported by these people. Then the people get caught but that is only part one of the plan. My point is that there are twists and turns and the stories are fun.

4. Acting: I can admit that before 24 I wasn't a Sutherland fan. But he does a great Job in 24. I wish I had a huge HD TV so I could see all the facial stuff he does, he really does a lot of it. He goes through all the different emotions pretty well. Yes Jack has cried a couple times and it has always been very convicing even if some don't think it really fit, story wise. He isn't the only one who has done a great Job. There are way to many people to list. Plus that is more of a I like this person and not that person kind of thing also...

The Thing is though that a show can have qualtiy writers and actors and story and all those things that make it a good show, and you still may not like it. A good example of this for me is ER and Dexter. I used to watch ER all the time, I really liked it. The problem was the operation scenes I just couldn't watch so I gave up after some years of watching. The Same thing happened with Dexter. I loved it what a great idea. He is a detective who goes around killing Serial Killers, what a great idea. I loved how he would go into flashbacks about how he learned to kill. One day during season one the gore was just to much so I had to stop watching. That is why I call Dexter the best show on TV I don't watch. I think that 24 is the best show on TV I do watch and one could argue that it is, the best show on TV currently. But after tonight that will be no more.

There is good TV and Great TV. I think the difference is that Good TV you like to watch great TV you watch and can't wait a week to see the next show. It could also be maybe just that each show is connected , that is one of the things that I really like about Heros. That may take over my best spot for shows on TV. Yes I also really like True Blood, but on Cable they can get away with a lot more so I don't know as compairing them is fair.

To Sum up:
Thank you to all the writers and actors!
Thank you Fox for not cutting them down after season 1
Thank you to whom ever came up with the Idea
Thank you to anyone who isn't covered by the 3 above

It is to bad 24 couldn't last more days (seasons) then 8, but it has been an amazing 8 years. If this was another network or another show at the end everyone who worked on the show would come out and bow but it isn't a comedy filmed in front of a crowd. 24 you will be missed Monday won't be the same with out you.
