At Schuele Paint on Summer
Category: housing
I saw this flyer an it was interesting for two reasons.

1. I really can't understand why a presentation for something like
this would be at lazerton.

2. I realized that having a pile of flyers is becomming less and less
necessary since people have camera phones. I barely ever take paper
anything anymore.

Teaching myself inkscape
Category: linux
I spent years using illustrator but now that I am dead set on a FOSS path I decided to learn inkscape. I was following this nice wiki article on inkscape for illustrator users

The one thing that I really miss is the gradient mesh tool. Just about everything else is fine for me, but that one feature made illustrator so awesome. It looks like some people are working on it for inkscape so it may happen sometime but in the meantime, blah.

Tonight, I followed this guy's tutorial on building a rock with inkscape. I think the tools are pretty neat still, althoug it is hard to train you hands to do something other than what they are used to.

Six Catholics and Two Jews
Category: government
Who would have thought, it's possibly the end of Protestants on the supreme court.

Today, the court is made up of six Roman Catholics, two Jews and Justice Stevens

Fedora 12 - a month later
Category: linux
Well its not just my server OS anymore. Its been one month and two days and I haven't gone back to os X yet. I am totally in love with linux desktop this time around and don't anticipate going back ever. It just seems so freakin fast, like I have a new laptop. Flash always used to be one of the big issues and they seemed to have fixed that mostly, although who knows, I bet flash starts to die soon anyways - but I thought that for years.

On monday my big project launches. It represents a lot of work but more than that an entirely different approach to managing data by distributing the authorship to the individuals it matters to most with very little constraints. I hope people are ready to take responsibility for their own data. Thanks you linux for making all of this possible. I would never be able to keep up with the computing demands of my job with any other platform.

I hate krab

Went to Saigon in the blvd, my favorite restaurant, and had crab
soup. There were so many real crab options including the asparagus
real crab soup I usually I get and somehow I ended up with fucking
krappy krab.

I really think that should have to state when the crab is krab.
