e:peep sightingCategory: not music
This afternoon I had the pleasure of running into (e:mrmike) at our local Wegmans. It was a nice reminder that the online community extends into meat space.

With out knowing where you two where this is what I will say. Walk down to frozen find that last isle and walk down it and the beer starts at the end. Then the back wall there is a beer cooler. Then there are two doors you can go through it is all beer in there. To the right of those doors are more doors to a cooler like as in the style of Wilson farms or a plus. When that ends there is an entire back wall of different beers. They even have flags hanging. I'm guessing that back wall of beer is about 50% of the back wall. (e:tinypliny) I know you don't drink. But sometime for fun you should check it out if you haven't seen it before, it really is a sight. So it is very easy for things to happen near the beer.

Actually, I think we were closer to the beer cooler. That seems logical as well

(e:tinypliny) - Yes, I know you are real. It's my reality that I question.

Too Drunk To . . .Category: music
Once upon there was a band called the Dead Kennedys. The first single I bought of theirs was "Too Drunk to Fuck." This is an acapella cover of the song by Camille who at one point in her life was in the bossa nova punk cover band Nouvelle Vague. Technically, I think this is an acapella cover of the Nouvelle Vague cover of the Dead Kennedys original.

That is a great song but not sure who's version I heard. My Question is now that all the Kennedys are really dead isn't the name redundant? Ha, oh wait I think there is a band like that with out the dead infront of it.

There used to be a band called the Dead Kennedys, who had a lead singer named Jello Biafra, who USED to be punk!
I'm just teasing, I like the Dead Kennedys. I'm happy someone mentioned them.

GHP Goes BananasCategory: music
I've been a big fan of Mark Vidler and
Go Home Productions for years. I think I think he is my favie mash-up artist. Here is one of his latest efforts. Enjoy it before it's gone
theecarey - 07/23/09 11:55
I like listening to the creative design of mash-ups, but had yet to literally see the efforts. This one did not disappoint. "Bananas lalalalalala" might have wormed its way into my brain already. Thanks ;)

A Pleasant SurpriseCategory: neighbors
Recently the Lovely Lettuce posted about our neighbors. and not seeing the nicer side of them. Well today, I did.
The previous administrations of our house left us with evergreen shrubs and landscape timber in our front yard. I got rid of the shrubs a couple of weeks ago. And today's project was getting the landscape timber into the backyard so I could decide what to do with them.
The previous admin's used round telephone pole like timbers. As I was struggling with a timber pretty much as tall as me, our neighbor (the male part of the couple Lettuce wrote about) came out and asked me if I needed help. This was a very pleasant surprise.
By that time, I was covered in dirt so I asked him "Are you sure you want to? You'll get dirty" He said that he didn't mind if he did.
So he helped me carry one from the front to the back. And in the middle of carrying the second large timber, my bad shoulder popped. We got it to the backyard. And I told him I would deal with it some other day. I didn't want him to do all my heavy lifting.
I thanked him for helping. He said it was just a small thing. I said to me it was more than just a small thing and that I really appreciated it.
Given everything that has happened, it was a very pleasant surprise that he would take the time and effort to help me.

That was nice of him and Neighboorly also. What it says to me is that you and him can get along even if the women can't. I think that is important to remember. What I mean is you both shouldn't get caught up in there battles, they are between the two of them.

It is great that he offered his help and that you are appreciative of it. Some people wouldn't see the good or bother, but you do and that is awesome. Certainly nice to see something good come out of what has/had been a negative situation so far.

Thanks to (e:all) for all the kind words. (e:paul) - The photo was taken on a trail on the grounds of the Royal Botanical Gardens :::link::: near the Burlington Hamilton border in Ontario, Canada.
The woood is part of a railing on a boardwalk over a marsh.
Great Photo. Where is that?
nice shot
Very nice, great photo!
Nice snap!
(e:tinypliny) - yes, I took it. As (e:terry) said, it is a chickadee.
chickadee-dee-dee-dee-dee
Priceless! Did you take it?! What kind of a bird is that? :)
