It will be Bud Light for Obama, Blue Moon for Crowley and Red Stripe for Gates, the White House says.
So we have InBev for Obama (Belgium/Brazil), MolsonCoors for Crowley (Canada) and Diagio for Gates (United Kingdom) What happened to having all of the stimulus money being directed to be spent buying products from domestic companies? ;-)
Then again their only choices would be PBR, Genny and Sam Adams if they were to stay with USA owned companies if you think about it on a macro scale.
I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Rolling Rock, they sold out to Bud at the time. The whole thing with them was sad as they moved the production from Latrobe to New Jersey. Needless to say I never had it again ever since.
I still can't believe Bud sold it self out like that. I still think of them as an American Beer, because it is and it is made here. Someone with a sense of Humor should have Had Busch that would have been funny. I think Yuengling was bought by Anheiser Busch A few years back and that is why they got the big push all over the country, but not sure if that is true.
Sam Adams Light would have been a respectable choice for the President, if he wanted to stick with light beer. PBR would've rocked though.
Yuengling, if you go for a macrobrew. But I would have a micro on hand from each of the 50 states if I were president.
There was a politician from Mass complaining that they should be drinking Sam Adams since its the largest American owned brewery. The founder of Sam Adams said he would brew a special beer for the event if they picked his beer. Which I thought was pretty cool.
I'll have an Aviator Red Please. (although my usual is a Yuengling :), don't tell me "America's oldest Brewery" is owned by some overseas Schmucks too..
Yuengling.
