Seriously, news channel 4 just did a special report about the "growing
trend of staycations."

They are a great idea actually.
1) Staying in NYC or some other city for 5 days is costly enough with Just the hotel plus you have to eat
2) Yes doing all kinds of things is fun, but I've none people who are so busy they come back more worn out then they where before they left
3) Traveling is a pain. If you have a car you have to drive it to the airport, then park it and pay for it then take your heavy stuff with you. I won't even get into all the airport security and if you have a long enough lay over to make the next flight. Then after you get off the plane you have to find your lugage and rent another car, ARGH........
I didn't even get into what happens when there are kids.
So I say stay at home and do stuff that you want to do around where you live that working gets in the way of.

The pear treeDespite the wind throwing lots of pear babies on the ground, it looks like we might have the most pears ever. This year I am just doing pots of juice and a pear themed party.
