The rabbit
Category: animals
Wow, a year lster he is still behind the hsbc in no man's land.
image

This (e:paul,45553) is when the rabbit was at its most disgusting peak, in case you don't remember.
tinypliny - 03/15/09 18:03
I never cross that lot. Why do you jog across all that rubble??!
theecarey - 03/04/09 18:41
The fate of the Easter Bunny is grim.

Dream about elmwood ave design
Category: elmwood
Last night before I went to sleep (e:matthew) told me about how elmwood enacted a design standard. I totally think thats great and support it. However, somehow in my dream it turned into some really grotesque, ultra modern, turqouise and blue, chunky plastic disaster. The bright blue was to represent the old blue neon lights on the tops of some of the buildings along the strip and the brown plastic was supposed to represent brick I think. It looked kind of like Room brown and blue meets 60s plastic future on the moon and had the same sheen as if it was made out of legos.

None of the parking lots were up front though.

I wish I had time to model what I am talking about.

I'm kinda mixed on the Idea my self. I get what they are trying to do they want to keep the place to look like the city and not the suburbs. Well that isn't right really. They don't want it to look like big box places. But see there is a danger in that. One of things that I think passed is no names on aunings or how ever you spell it, aren't there all ready places like that and doesn't it look kinda cool. If I where going to open a shop and I could go on another strip where I could design my building how I wanted it and I could do what ever with the sign then I would go there and not Elmwood. The risk you take is sending people away. The other risk that is bigger is by saying there are certain things you can't do at some point in time, then every place could wind up looking the same. If you don't believe me think back to what Grant St. Did. Yes it was a good idea but it didn't work and lots of places closed anyways. Grant St. came up with this cool looking signs. All the places had black signs and around the edge was Bronze/gold and then the raised lettering was the same color. Yes it was cool and made all the places with them look unified. I'm guessing that with all of those bought they got a good deal. But what about when you need a new letter or a place closes.

Not Clean Shaven and Boobs
Category: body
Don't try and outshine my blog with your empty promises of clean shaven (e:hodown,47934)

I swear I am buffer than the pics look, I am finally starting to really have a six pack but the fur makes it hard to see, lol. My back is also strong for the first time ever and I am actually within the healthy weight range for my height for once. I just wish my body was not an iphone advertisment. I really need a less conspicous camera.

After reviewing my photo album I decided that (e:hodown)'s boobs would boost the ratings even more and help make the journal have a little bit for everyone.

An the upclose version

Kiss my ratings butt - bisnatch, lol.

hodown - 07/13/09 17:49
This is still one of my favorite posts of yours. It's so funny.
tinypliny - 03/15/09 18:05
Haha - actions speak louder than words?
joshua - 03/04/09 19:16
(e:paul) - nice work fella... do you think if you put on another 10 lbs. of muscle you'd be too beefcake?

(e:hodown) - what's so wrong about these? Now I wouldn't defend Paul for provoking you, but they are nice pictures. You have a really pretty smile in the first picture. Chesty girls have nowhere to hide!
mrdt - 03/04/09 18:59
Congratulations on your physical achievements, the both of you... It's taken me alomst 6 months to add 2 natural pounds of muscle. Your post has almost tempted me to come out of retirement with some shots in the buff but alas its winter and I'm heavy til May comes.

Also it must be nice to eat whatever - whenever and not worry about body fat...

You can always wait til summer and buzz the hair off with a beard trimmer.

metalpeter - 03/04/09 18:40
I forgot to mention Nice picture in the mirror. I don't know what the lighting is like but with a camera that has a flash you have to turn it off and be very still or figure out how to get the flash to light everything with out hitting the mirror, good job, or maybe you just used the natural lighting and that was enough.
metalpeter - 03/04/09 18:39
I agree with (e:Jenks) your right hand our left looks like you are jerking off and that like the cock was removed and then the leaf was put in. There isn't a way to do it on (e:strip) but what would really be funny is if Jessica's picture was next to Paul's so it looked like she was looking at him in the mirror. Of course there are ways to put pictures together so it looks like that. I'm not sure if I have any flab and I don't think I will try to compete with either of you 2 anyways, I think I have all ready shown more skin then I want to on this site, hope you two have fun with this little battle. That being said what Am I missing how do you know how many people saw each journal?
jenks - 03/04/09 17:07
lol I guess you're flexing in that first pic? that was not what I thought the left hand was doing at first.
hodown - 03/04/09 16:59
Paul my competition is NOT with you. However now that you've started this- game on sucka. Ok not really cause I don't plan on posting naked shots of me or my boobs. Just know that we are so not BFF right now and I know that hurts you.
theecarey - 03/04/09 16:04
Yes, Paul wins. If only for the fact that the leaf doesn't quite cover it all. Nice job!
libertad - 03/04/09 13:50
P.S. You are falling out of your leaf.
libertad - 03/04/09 13:49
I'm jealous but I will use my jealousy to get rid of my flab.
lilho - 03/04/09 11:59
i am so ok with (e:paul) and (e:jessica) creating scandal.... good job guys. and (e:paul), what a post!
paul - 03/04/09 10:11
That was before you started the competition.
hodown - 03/04/09 10:01
Wait Jerkface you said you wouldnt post those. You are so on FP (friend probation) & BP (Boob Probation).
matthew - 03/04/09 09:50
Yes, I am jealous of jessica's boobs.
businesscheese - 03/04/09 09:25
Paul wins, Jessica. Paul wins.
paul - 03/04/09 09:12
I think you are wrong you just refuse to look becaus eyou are jealous, lol.
matthew - 03/04/09 09:09
I hate to break it to you but these pics of you make you look WAY bigger than you do in real life, must be the tilt of the mirror. And jessica's boobs actually look smaller than they do in person!

Couch Shopping
Category: furniture
The drexel has finally had it. We have a book proping up the missing middle leg. This couch has come a long way with us over the last ~10 years. We were just discussing the day we got it. (e:matthew) was mad because I guess we left him at the laundromat for two hours while (e:hodown), (e:terry) and I got it and this was before cell phones.

We got it at some fly by night antique shop next to the laundromat on elmwood avenue right after you cross the Kenmore ave line. I remember that it was $125 and that we gave the guy $100 and told him we would bring back the other $25. I am pretty sure that we never did because when we came back like a week later they were closed forever. I remember it seemed so expensive, like we were being totally crazy spending $125 on a couch. It was in relatively good condition then although I think it had already last about 10-20 years since its creation.

image

Somewhere along the way we also got my grandmother's old couch which was worn out by the tenants that lived there after her. The fabric is all ripped and its not a good lounging couch.

image

So we decided to use some of our tax return money to get some couches that will last, not smell like chemicals, be hypo-alllergenic, and allow you to sit up straight. I was sold on leather because it doesn't create so much dust like cloth couches.

We shopped around and went to Value City (crap), FWS (ok), Rosa's (ok) and Raymour and Flanigan's (awesome), Our saleswoman at Raymore Laurie Guerra was really helpful, I would definately recommend her. We sat on every couch in the store, it took us two days between the stores. In the end we liked the first couch we decided on like 15 minutes into the first day of couch shopping. Same with everything in my life e.g. the house, the car. Its just after the matress fiasco I decided to go ahead and make sure this time.

Along the way we saw some crazy couches. Including the one with the cupholder form my previosu journal (e:paul,47910)

A fully denim couch by Cindy Crawford?
image

The sex room couch?
image

And this really big comfy, recliner couch that i wanted but that (e:matthew) couldn't stand the look of. It was pretty comfy and fully reclined almost like a bed.

image

In the end the two we chose were pretty contemporary but classy italian leather with hardwood interior couches. They had some eco friendly hypoallergenic stuffing as well which made me happy.

Instead of getting a couch and a loveseat, we got two couches because we are tall and it allows two people to lie down. Did you know that buying an additional couch is only $30 more than the loceseet. That seems like such a deal when you think of all the extra fabric and materials. This was the model, called "The Morgan Leather Sofa"

image

Here is the glam shot of it from their site.
image

FWS had a couch that was cheaper but they didn't have the same service plan and I didn't know what the stuffing or frame was made of compared to the raymour one. This was especially important to me after the mattress fiasco from last year. Also the leather was thinner. However, the salesguy at FWS had a really nice butt.

image

The other thing FWS didn't have was the 5 year warranty plan that Raymour and Flanigan's does. Seriously, it covers everything from scratches and tears to cigarette burns fully for five years. How could you turn that down.
tinypliny - 03/15/09 18:07
(e:Matthew) makes a gorgeous sofa model. :D He is like one of those 60s-70s beatles-era model in these pictures!
mrdt - 03/04/09 18:52
I agree R&F's furniture is so much better, especially along the lines of craftmenship. You're liable to get twenty years vs. 5 from discount furniture stores.

metalpeter - 03/02/09 19:36
Well that sex room couch would go great in that dark room that has like no light and the cage (I don't even remember how to get to that spot in your place) Hey you could have an entire different kind of party in there, HA. Glad you found stuff you like I hope it holds up well.
theecarey - 03/02/09 18:06
A few years ago when in the position and need for new furniture, I decided on Raymour too. I eventually ended up buying two couch and love seat sets (I have two living rooms). A large fabric set and an awesome leather set. I love it all. The leather they carry is very comfy, sturdy and attractive. The set you chose is very attractive. Good stuff, fair prices and kick ass warranty plan. enjoy!!
matthew - 03/02/09 17:59
correction: The laundromat was next door to the thrift store we bought the drexel from. It took you, (e:terry) and (e:hodown) two hours to "get rope from Jessica's house". In other words, to get high. That's why i was mad, cause you made me wait for you in the smelly laundromat.
james - 03/02/09 13:49
Getting up from being naked on a leather couch on a summer day is like a fly on flypaper, except pleasant.
libertad - 03/02/09 13:30
I love leather couches. I got to remember to give you guys a electromagnetic cloth to use for dusting. Works good on the leather.
hodown - 03/02/09 10:09
You totally should have gotten the ultra lounger couch! Can you imagine? No one would ever leave the house..
paul - 03/02/09 09:43
Thank god it's summer for only like 2 months.
lilho - 03/02/09 09:01
i can't wait to test those bad boys out! :)
mrmike - 03/02/09 08:59
Only downside is stretching out on a hot day, the sound your leg will make when getting peeled off the leather.

The snow in the south
Category: web
This is what the associated press had to say about the snow storm that hit the south.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A potent March snowstorm blanketed much of Alabama with up to 4 inches of snow Sunday, covering Civil War statues and forcing the cancellation of hundreds of church services.

How did they manage to bring up the civil war in the first sentence of a totally unrelated article about the south? I know its not written by a southerner or they would have said "War of Northern Aggression."

I love how the people try and sled down the grassy mud hill. That grass is going to be trashed.

image
tinypliny - 03/15/09 18:08
He's going to end up with one pair of dirty jeans. ew.
metalpeter - 03/02/09 19:41
I don't think he has a sled. I have heard if you have the right kind of spray you can use it on your clothes and you can slide but I don't think it would work on Jeans. I think the reason they mentioned the civil war was because to say that there where statues covered in snow wouldn't sound as good or sound kinda vague but you mention Civil War statues everyone knows that you are saying it snowed in the south and that is more dramatic, if that was the only part you heard you would know it snowed in the south.
janelle - 03/01/09 20:42
Is he even sledding on anything?
