When it rains...
Category: frustration
Roommate hanging out with wannabe boyfriend. Mutual friend (who introduced us) stuck in rochester with a boyfriend and a car with not enough gas. Various other friends with no cars or no gas. Recent strife with last girlfriend, so feeling lonely. Working 10 hour days, and it still seems to not be enough. Still ruminating over love lost from time to time. 2nd anniversary of mother's death coming up this saturday.

Well, at least I have House... I guess... Very good episode today anyway.

And I'm not as depressed as I could be. (Especially compared to my friend jim...psychotic depression...oof! At least he's being taken care of well. We should all be so lucky to have a significant other like that...)

Seriously, I promise not to whine too much here. Sometimes it's gonna slip though. Everybody has ups and downs. And I don't believe in filtering myself too much... At least online anyway.
theli - 11/26/08 20:12
Ah yes, internet arguments... Used to do those. Not so much anymore. Sometimes fun, sure.
metalpeter - 11/26/08 20:03
Often times debates start about things like what parts of the show people don't like or how the old cast was better, or house shouldn't have said what he did to a kid and stuff like that. It is fun but can be very time consuming. Ok I'm off gotta go watch bones.

gardenmama: Thanks for the kind words.

metalpeter: Nope, haven't bothered to join anything related to fox. Uhm, what's there to agree on again? :p

If it's that house is a great show...sure!
metalpeter - 11/26/08 19:13
House is a great show. If you go to fox.com/community there is a message board for it. If you are a member and we have agreed cool if we didn't agree that is fine also. I'm use to him speaking like an American so it sounds weird to hear how he really speaks.
gardenmama - 11/26/08 15:25
Sorry about your mom - those anniversaries are difficult - especially when they fall around a holiday. So many other people feeling good and/ or happy can sort of make the nagging saddness seem even worse - so it's ok - go ahead and while if you want. You're right we all do have our ups and down. Hope tomorrow is better for you.

The thought of Hugh doing comedy fills me with dread and glee.
leetee - 11/26/08 09:56
Fuck yeah, he is. LoOOoove him. Of course, the fact that he did a comedy skit show called Fry and Laurie that i think rules has me kinda biased.
theli - 11/26/08 09:53
Heh. Apparently british actors can play americans better than most american actors can. At least according to Jim... Haven't really seen enough material to make that judgement myself yet. But Hugh is pretty damn good.
leetee - 11/26/08 09:47
Love House. Still freaks me out to hear Hugh Laurie with an American accent, though. I wonder how many medical mysteries there are left for them to do... Haven't seen this week's episode -- i work during prime time!

Yeah, it's a picture.

Wanna fight about it?
theli - 11/21/08 18:40
Mostly stuff related to little league sites, sometimes others. Work in a small business, so it's pretty tame. And I tend to get stuck doing a good deal of the administrative stuff. We do a decent amount of work with UB as well...
paul - 11/21/08 18:29
What web software do you develop?
theli - 11/21/08 09:24
Yes! Score one more for the optician mafia!
tinypliny - 11/20/08 23:03
I DO. Man. It's blurry! (I am having trouble deciding if its the picture that's blurry or my eyes that are damaged.)

Signed,
your neighbourhood whiny old hag.

Been meaning to create an (e:Strip) journal for a while. So here it is.

Anybody up for some games of whatever variety?
theli - 11/17/08 17:22
Yeah, I noticed the Monty Python one. Should be pretty funny.

Monty Python itself is kinda odd in the scheme of nerd/geek/dork culture... They became famous because of this incredibly surreal/unexpected/spontaneous comedy...but now they have achieved cult status and have their jokes repeated over...and over...and over...

It is a wonderful perversion. :}

I'm bad at reading comments after I've read the initial post so I didn't see these until just now. Yes, Fluxx is lots of fun. I've got a very early version of it and only have some of the extra cards issued. I really want a copy of Stoner Fluxx and to be totally nerdy, the new Monty Python Fluxx. I think Aquarius is awesome. Chrononauts requires a lot of concentration but it's very interesting to think about. The various Icehouse games are neat but I don't know very many of them.
theli - 11/12/08 09:20
I have a bunch of card and board games myself. Such as Girl Genius, Anima, Gloom, Nexus Ops, Order of the Stick... And then there's always video and tabletop... Yeah, I love games maybe a bit too much.
theli - 11/12/08 09:17
Ahh, yes. I've played Fluxx a few times with someone who had almost every single card. Fun and crazy.

And I've seen Treehouse and Are you a werewolf? played. Both seemed pretty fun.

I've been thinking about starting, or joining, a weekly game night...
heidi - 11/11/08 20:53
What kind of games?

I have a bunch from Looney Labs :::link:::
metalpeter - 11/10/08 18:55
Welcome to the site
tinypliny - 11/10/08 18:10
Yo. And welcome to (e:strip). :)
