This might be easy for some of you, but I am doing it because I have to remind myself.
1. Spending time with people I like.
2. Snacking while I work.
3. The moment when you turn off the overhead lights and look at the glow.
4. Trying to take low-light pictures of the tree.
5. The smell of a fresh tree.
6. It only comes once a year.
7. Happy memories.
8. The celebratory cold one at the end.
9. The fact that other people do a lot of the work.
10. This year, the churches decorations DO NOT include a live tree--which makes my life a lot easier.

Football tonightCategory: football
The game starts at 8:15, but I may not be able to leave house church (it's like church, but in a home, and with snacks, and better) until 8:30.
At that point, I will go to Casa di Pizza, where there is NFL network.
It's the Steelers vs. the Bengals, so hopefully the game will be pretty much over by halftime, and I can go to bed at a reasonable hour.
If you want to watch some football, stop on by.

I don't know if you remember this, but it just came back into my mind, and it is one of the funniest things in my life that I have ever enjoyed.

We'll have a live tree in our home.
I <3 this post Drew. One of my favorite things is my church all Christmas-y. They don't do this anymore but when I was younger they would get one GIANT tree for the sanctuary that must have been 15-20 feet high. They would use just white lights and white doves and it was gorgeous. Now they get three smaller trees which is nice, but not quite the same. And on Christmas Eve we do the candle lighting ceremony where the entire congregation gets a candle and they shut off all the lights except on the trees...silent night...holy night. you know the drill i'm sure. i love it.
Cleaning up a live tree can be a real pain in the ass. It depends on how the needles are. Some trees lose a few and some they go everywhere and you track them in when you bring the tree in and the same thing as on the way out. But some trees don't really lose there needles. There are options for people who don't want to kill a tree to get a tree that can be replanted after Christmas.
No live tree? To me the one thing I love most is the smell of the fresh pine tree. I've never had to actually clean up after one though, rumor has it they are a major pain in the ass..
