Voted (Barack +1)Category: politics
The line wasn't bad at all. Our old school mechanical voting booths are actually pretty awesome. The only bad part of the experience was that I almost missed the referendum above the political offices.
Not sure what I'll be doing tonight, but probably will be at the Erie County Democratic Headquarters with (e:James) once he's done working.
If Virginia and Florida are both called for Obama before 8pm, it's going to be a huge night for him. Otherwise we may be up very, very late :)

Don't forget to vote, even if it's not for my guy, Obama.

Election CountdownCategory: politics
Today is Saturday. The election is Tuesday. I can't wait for it to be over - I can't stop paying attention to it. Will miss it, too, it's very exciting this year.
Don't forget to vote!

On a side note, I hardly know what to do with myself while I'm on vacation. I've already checked in with work twice this morning to see if they need me. Sigh...
My goal today is to finish learning map/reduce in CouchDB views, maybe posting that here will be incentive to finish it :)

You're on vacation, don't work! Pretend you're in Timbuktu and can't call work! Don't learn new programming! Eat good food, read silly books, watch movies with Drew... so much to do other than work!
<giggle>
I'm so jealous.

Official!Category: work
My new position is actually a position, instead of some de-facto thing! I clarified that I have the authority to back up my responsibilities, and my Projects Manager title will be made public to everyone next week when my boss gets back from vacation. Happy day :)

I voted at the Summer retirement place too! No line for my 01, whatever that means. (precinct #? is there more than one precinct in the voting location? I can't even figure out how many state reps & senators there are. where's an 8th grade civics teacher when ya need them? can i get a crash course in NY state civics?)
Me too, sad that it took longer to get coffee (Spot ran out) than it did to vote over at the Summer Richmond Retirement Home.
I took care of my civic business this morning, too. I hope the day goes smoothly.
