cyber warfare
Category: tech
Apparently, Russia and Georgia is at war. I didn't even knew they were fighting, but I guess its been a long-term conflict that has recently escalated.

The strange thing about is that hackers in the Russian Federation is actively attacking governmental, military, and personal sites in Georgia. Hackers spam the sites to the point where they stopped running. It's considered by some to be cyber warfare.

Such a waste of energies and time. :/

Good to know I have a twin out there! :) Unfortunately, I was not at the Shakespeare at the Park thing. Maybe next time when you are in town!
carolinian - 08/12/08 10:46
In my experience/observation, hackers are loyal only to their addiction to breaking into machines and doing immature/destructive things to them. Whenever conflicts (wars, mohammed pictures, whatever) break out, usually these events serve as an excuse for the hackers to take some time out from compromising and screwing up machines in their own countries (and the rest of the world) and compromising machines in the opposing country. The tit-for-tat retaliatory hacking that goes back and forth between countries is almost more a form of competition between hackers of the opposing countries (as opposed to an actual war).

shakespeare in the park!
Category: buffalo
Aaron and I are going to see Shakespeare in the Park this Saturday, the 26th. The play is a comedy, "the Merry Wives of Windsor". It is a performance that is free to the public in Delaware Park.

I don't know if anyone is free that night, but if you are interested, it would be awesome to meet up with people there.

Your yellow-orange waistcoat sounds cool! Thanks Tiny for commenting:).

Sounds like fun. Have a good time. I am not sure I will be able to make it but I shall try! If I turn up, look for a puny (4"11.something') Indian with a 90 degrees short broom-hair, a crazy grin and an equally crazy YELLOW-ORANGE waistcoat over black T-shirt and nondescript jeans.

America
Category: poems
I Hear America Singing- Walt Whitman

I hear America singing, the varied carols I hear,
Those of mechanics, each one singing his as it should be blithe and strong,
The carpenter singing his as he measures his plank or beam,
The mason singing his as he makes ready for work, or leaves off work,
The boatman singing what belongs to him in his boat, the deckhand
singing on the steamboat deck,
The shoemaker singing as he sits on his bench, the hatter singing as he stands,
The wood-cutter's song, the ploughboy's on his way in the morning, or
at noon intermission or at sundown,
The delicious singing of the mother, or of the young wife at work, or of
the girl sewing or washing,
Each singing what belongs to him or her and to none else,
The day what belongs to the day--at night the party of young fellows,
robust, friendly,
Singing with open mouths their strong melodious songs.

(Happy 4th of July, (e:peeps)).

That was me. I probably should have introduced myself. Some of the music you listen to seems like it would be interesting.

BTW, thanks so much for the last.fm friend-list. You are circleoflight, right? There is an (e:empireoflight) here on (e:strip) and I was a trifle confused but the profile pic resembles you. :)

ghost hunters in Buffalo
Category: buffalo
Has anyone ever been to the Iron Island Museum in Buffalo? I just read the other day that the television Ghost Hunters recently filmed the museum and some other sites around Buffalo.

I recently installed Firefox3 on my comp. Estrip looks great on it! I really like this version of firefox a lot better than the previous ones.
tiburon1724 - 09/03/08 23:10
Watching that episode right now...
tinypliny - 06/21/08 17:53
I did clean install this time. I uninstalled via the control panel > add/remove programs and then installed the new version (downloaded from :::link:::) And yes, the automatic updates didn't come up this time.
metalpeter - 06/21/08 16:15
FF Question I have the previous version and it doesn't ask me about upgrading to I have to go to their site to download the new version and when I do will it replace 2 or what ever version I have?
tinypliny - 06/20/08 19:12
Yeah, I like FF3 as well. Nice layout from the get-go.

Maybe I should check this museum out with my friend instead of blowing big bucks on the Wicked Musical (for crappy seats!)
