(e:Janelle) and I had a great fun time at Lafayette Church (another shameless link), including a potluck lunch/carol sing. Then we came home and decorated our house. Check it out:

This is the tree at church.

And the nativity scene on our mantle.

I also put a string of lights on our porch. Here's hoping a drunk doesn't steal our extension cord to pay for a quick buzz. Maybe I will take a picture of the lights after it gets dark. (actually, you can see some of them out the window in the pic taken with the flash. I am amazed at the power of my camera sometimes.
And in case you were wondering, yes, that is a sombrero on top of the tree, and those are chili pepper lights. They are happy memories from our "South of the Border" wedding reception. Any ugly and/or tasteless ornaments, however, are courtesy of (e:janelle).
Lovely treeats :)
That sounds like fun. I was just asking cause I have heard that they make little beer bottle ornaments but I have never really seen them.
no, they aren't. But I will start making ornaments out of Tequila bottles soon (I got a bottle of 1800 Anejo last Christmas, and I wouldn't be surprised if something similar showed up for this one.)
First of all that second tree is huge it really is. In terms of the tree being fake there are some advantages to that, like if you forget to water it the house won't burn down. You don't shed needles all over the floor when you hall it out and into the house. You don't have to pay for a new tree every year. Plus there are more trees growing that are not killed so they can look nice in a house for a month. I do have to ask are any of the ornaments Mexico Alcohol like Corona, Neer Beer or any other hard stuff.
Condolences on the blowout yesterday. ;(
Sadly, it's a fake tree.
The hats (sometimes called sombreros) were centerpieces at our reception.
that is a huge tree at church! Whoa!
Love the hat :)
