One of my employees just called me to let me know that if i wanted some extra hours that I could come in early and he would get out early... Nice to know, Anthony... I'll keep that in mind... thanks much. no.
I'm not allowed to wake Lauren up until Noon. She has been working crazy hours for the past two weeks and finally has a morning wherein she can sleep in. So... noon. I have another half an hour to dick around on Wazina's laptop while she gets ready to head into work.
I'm thinking about spending a little bit ripping up that horrid bush in the front yard. Actually there are four bushes there, surrounding a large boulder. And of course, it is all boxed in by very contemporary wood edgers. (sarcasm) I imagine that the roots run very deep as well.... this should be interesting... By the time I am done, I would not be suprised if we end up with a shovel across the yard and me having a hissy fit.
Wow that just reminded me of the time i got stuck in the driveway here and looked up to see all of my housemates watching me try to shovel my way INTO the driveway. and then the cheap ass shovel broke and I proceeded to throw it across the yard. We found it when the snow melted.
I think I just realized that I'm a total impatient, hot tempered asshole. Which is funny b ecause when shit goes down at work I'm the last person to lose it.
anyway... I'm going to go clean the kitty box.

confabulationI've noticed that, more often now, I have been absorbing as much about the Hudson Valley and the Catskills as I can. I'm savoring the sites and the sounds. Soon I'll be leaving all this behind, and it makes me sad....
Lake Minnewaska
Katerskille falls... (i don't even know if i spelled that correctly)
There are Waterfalls everywhere I go
I'll miss looking out over these beautiful mountains....
and seeing her with this beautiful backdrop up at the Rock Garden..
I guess I'm just being overly romantic of this place... its not like i don't stop at least once a day and think to myself "I can't wait to get out of here!"

disruptedWe decided last night that it would probably be a good idea to not move out of new paltz officially till the end of july. I would still like to get an apartment in buffalo sometime in the beginning of july and spend the month getting there and getting everything ready for our official arrival, but there is too much going on in July...
First of all my family (who lives all around Buffalo) are having a family reunion [idown here][/i] in the middle of July. Also there is a large fourth of july campout at my friend's house that I do not want to miss...
Also I have spent almost ten years in this little town, and I have to admit that as much as it pisses me off some times, I really am quite attached... I have only made one big time move in my life... home to new paltz... now its new paltz to buffalo... all my 8 gazillion new paltz friends and aquaintances.... gone...
anyway... its now after four and I am supposed to finish sanding down this dresser and get it stained and finished TONIGHT>.... so yeah i got lots of work to do..

Yes'm officer ma'mI had a customer just enter my store and chat it up with me. He asked me if I had ever thought about a career in corrections. He wasn't trying to sell me on anything, he just thought I should be a corrections officer. I wonder if I give off that vibe...
I used to be the head of security at this bar/club here in NP. I was badass and made a LOT of enemies. There were a lot of underage whiney little girls that hated my guts every thursday night when I denied them entry or kicked them out. Part of me really loved that job. I am such a nice, compliant person that to have a job where I HAD to be strict, mean, and controlling was sort of a stress releif. It was like all that secret inner aggression that I had lurking under the surface of my glassy and calm exterior was able to escape... I just hated the drunkards....
The funny thing is that a couple of the 'perks' that the guy had named was that I would get to carry a badge and a gun. Do I really want to carry a gun?
that is an interesting question to ask myself. because part of me is opposed to guns, and the other part of me would love to go to the shooting range and try it out. I don't think I would carry it around or anything...
Anyway... as intersting as it may sound, I don't think that being a corrections officer is the game for me... i do enjoy an occasional smoke if ya know what i mean.. ;)

the final countdown...T minus two months till the big move...
HERE WE COME BUFFALO!!! are you ready for us?
or, more appropriately, are we ready for you?
not really... i need a job and i need an apartment.... its rather nervewracking to be so close to the move and yet so far from being ready... i have no idea what my life will be like in two months. All i know is that I'll be with my lady. I'm just going to go with it.
rock on.
anyone have a job or an apartment that you want to offer me?

prime time! wow that was a blast from the past... i've had some... er... interesting moments at that place!
yes i'll be sorry leave these beautiful mountains behind, but alas, we must move on right?
I'm not sure where we are moving to in buffalo - whereever is cheap.. my lady will be attending grad school at UB so i think we will try to stay near the north campus - but we may venture down to elmwood if we find something perfect!
craiglist does, indeed, rule... i've been checking daily... perhaps hourly!?

Oh, and I see you are moving from New Paltz.
I am from Putnam County origonaly and I have dated a few people in New Paltz. Once upon a time, I partied at club Prime Time before they closed.
Buffalo is a lot of fun. I just hope you don't miss the catskills.

www.buffalo.craigslist.com is your new best friend.
Job listings? You got it.
Apartments? Up the wazzo.
And while it is on topic, is wazzo another name for anus?
No, that is off topic.
Welcome to Buffalo. It is a grand ol' burg.

I think you'll be ready for us - we are a simple people that rely on foraging and trading with other like-minded tribes to survive.
Ok, I'm only kidding... but welcome anyway!

These pictures do remind me of where I'd rather be than in an office or a city sometimes. I had the urge to bolt for a weekend a couple weeks ago, and although I didn't, these pictures were sort of my idea of paradise without cell phones.
The Sabres are messing my tree hugging plans up.
With photos like this you will not be short on comments.
no problem... i'm new so i need random comments to make me feel more secure in my blogging. :)
I'm sorry, I couldn't avoid a post called "confabulation" and I had to post a comment! Its one of those things.
