Mindless Drunkeness
It was just a strange day. I had my Ex over for dinner early in the evening which was a very spur of the moment event. It all begins when I received a text message from her and then I replied back asking for advice in regards in what to do with an old friend(An Ex wife/friend that I never married!) It was a tough decision to make, but I have to stand my ground. This person is just toxic, and has dragged me down for more than a decade! Allowing myself to get sucked back in her life will result in nothing good.

So I ended up inviting my most recent Ex over for dinner. Yah, good times. I feel a bit inadequate for the fact that we ordered takeout.

This was most likely the fuel for my crazy bender last night at the show. It was a blast seeing everyone out. It was a fun time having my DD ((e:theecarey)) and we had a blast. BTW, what the heck kind of pics were was taken and received on my phone last night? I honestly don't remember at all.

The highlight was seeing everyone out at the infamous Broadway Joe's. The second highlight was seeing that couple bump and grind to radiohead! Good Times!!! That place just has a soul for that kind of college age love. It wasn't as strong as the last time I went ther about 5-6 years ago, but they had a Dead band playing and Mickey Rats was open next door.

It was a great fun night out. Too bad I had way to much. That is why I'm updating so late this evening. Getting a call at 12 this afternoon from you parents in FLA and feeling like death worn over is not a great feeling at all.

I never made it around to making a post about the weekend. I had fun Friday evening. It was nice to finally meet Tom. Other highlights..Driving Misster Lazy ;) j/k.. being the DD was perfect,as the warm pint of Guinness did nothing for me! Aslo chatting it up with the others, playing really bad pool and chillin' with our buddy Scott. How many of us were from Lew Port??
End of night bathroom escapade was indeed interesting. If you dont remember.. I'm not telling you!! hahaha ;) Now, let me go find my camera, hehe.
ladycroft - 04/30/06 15:30
naw dude, i wasn't saying it was a bad time! i still had fun. those ass monkeys were slightly entertaining.
vincent - 04/30/06 13:41
Sorry, :-(

I guess they didn't read the "No Assholes" sign as you walked in the place!

Now I feel bad that the peeps had a negative experience. It was the bar, that back "patio" has a real scary feel to it.

When they play Goodbar in July I'll be lucky to have 1 person meet up for the show :-/

ladycroft - 04/30/06 01:57
yah...that stoned couple that were grinding...well, first she was peeing crouched in a doorway around the corner...then i got in my car and the guy passes, followed by the girl with her ASS hangin out of the pants that she forgot to zip up...then she fell into a for sale sign on someone's lawn...then the ran into the street and started yelling at some of the people we were with...

My Lame Happy Hour

Missing Image ;(

Well here is a pic of me and where I was for my lame Friday Happy Hour. I just love this place in quaint little Lewiston. It was really good to see a great amount of people out enjoying the sunshine. What really surprise me was the traffic outside of the Day Spa next door. Seeing these underage girls going in and out of this building that houses two businesses one being a more mature boutique and the other a day spa I knew which one they were patronizing. The whole Paris Hilton Phenomenon has finally hit home to me.

Then again I have lived in Lewiston/Porter most of my life this should not be a shock. Just I don't remember the girls in my high school wearing pointy designer shoes and wearing ambercronbiesque type of clothes getting their stuff done as frequently as the girls these days do. Then again now in today's America we are living in even "Fatter" times than even the 1990's. Feeling wealthy in regards to your custom home that you can touch and feel and buy stuff form Home Depot is a bigger boost to your financial ego than a stock portfolio that is extremely volatile of a daily basis.

I know where I am going to be tonight. Broadway Joe's on Main St hopefully around 10PM. The hockey game may complicate things a bit but I am going to the Karma Police Show tonight. If anyone has any idea's about tonight let me know.

This should be a good night :-)

ladycroft - 04/28/06 18:22
I will be there, with many peeps!

I have become a treehugger
Category: senseless killing
As I was leaving my "job" from the den of debauchery in downtown Niagara Falls I came across this as I was heading home.

Yes, I have lived here most of my life and am totally aware that the city of NF vibrates at a lower frequency than the rest of the universe.

But, this just made me really F*n pissed.

Why have I noticed a senseless war against trees' lately?

In Lewiston last week they just clear cut all of them on the riverbank leaving stumps. Must open up "The View!"

Arg, perfectly healthy trees. No, immediate threat to power lines and for what? Your casino $ hard at work I suppose.

Crackheads
Category: car break in's
So my friend's car got broken into this morning. They broke the window to grab a $20 portable CD player. The car was parked right on Elmwood between Allen and Virginia.

In a way I feel it was my fault. I should have been more persist ant for her to come down here and spend the night as I was casually mentioning to when she called after I got off of work last night.

My buddy Jeff was right. In my neighborhood it is like a nice "Easter Basket" nothing bad happens and it's that warm and fuzzy feeling :-/

This is just evident that I have to be sliding by on something when it comes to women. It sure isn't my Don Juan suave that is doing the job that is for sure.

I'll think I'll change this journal name to Mr. Passive or something along those lines.

I have to say that by stating only people living in cities, which are the only places for diversity, are open minded is the most ridiculous close minded stance I've ever heard.

I'm catholic and italian, not to mention the most open minded person that I know. I spent lots of time growing up in kenmore, buffalo, amherst and niagara falls while attending various schools and working. I don't think I'm an exception to the rule either. My neighbor, who also happens to be catholic, is one of the most brilliant painters/artists I've ever met.

Long story short - there's diversity every where, it's just more concentrated and prevelant where the population is denser. and the same goes for open/closed minded individuals and you proved it with that belief on the topic.
dcoffee - 04/26/06 22:35
I live on north street and someone broke my window for a portable cd player too, it was a piece of crap cd player that I got from wal-mart before I was boycotting the place. and it cost me $160 to fix the windshield. crackheads. I still like it here though, there's pros and cons everywhere. in Allentown, you can't keep anything in your car over night, but you can walk anywhere you need to go, and the trip is always scenic.
lilho - 04/26/06 18:17
al i have to say is this. their ain't jack shit to do on grand island or in the burbs, everything is drive, drive, drive. and that just sucks. plus, i hate bush, and you should too.
matthew - 04/26/06 16:12
i should have been more clear, i meant open-minded as in "everyone doesn't look/act the same". Haha. I'm talking about diversity! And it's living in and around diversity that creates open-mindedness (i belive). I wasn't talking so much from a political point of view. How many non-WASP's live in east aurora or williamsville? not many. why? because of close-minded people.
scott - 04/26/06 16:00
Now now... that's not a very open minded view of the 'burbs, is it?

I think there's sections of the 'burbs with every bit as mich personality as Allentown. (i.e. East Aurora... very quaint and charming) An open-minded view would see that there's good and bad in both places. I think elmwood/allen is rather closed minded when it comes to conservatives. If the area is so open-minded, walk around in a "George Bush Rules!" t-shirt for a day. (The idea's laughable, isn't it?)I'm not conservative and I'm not liberal, and I seem to think noplace is terribly open-minded in Buffalo, quite frankly.
matthew - 04/26/06 15:38
where is your neighborhood? Allen & Elmwood can be pretty sketchy at times. But most of the people in the area would agree that things are getting a lot better. It just takes people with positive attitudes who want to see things change in their community.

At least it has personality and an open-minded community. These are somethings the suburbs will probably never have.
mrdt - 04/26/06 14:20
I live on Grand Island. Last week I left a portible boom box, a case of wegman's bottled water and my rollerblades on my porch. the next day I woke up and everything was still there. am I lucky, maybe; do I live in a great nieghborhood; maybe, did I beat the shit out of a few punks that stole stuff right out of my house years ago, yes; did they finally move, yes.
plus I never lock my trucks with valuables in the glove box. (gotta stop doing that) but it goes to show you it's not so bad in the burbs

Empty/Full
Category: living situation
So my Dad/Housemate is off to France today. Leaving me just a little bit empty on the person to go out to dinner department for the next week or so. At the same time eating just doesn't seem like a good idea, I believe I have put on a few pounds recently. I must get motivated and rotate the wheels on my blades for the basic fact that my marathon skates have worn them down to nothing last year.

What really is bugging me lately is the fact that it now appears that I did not learn anything from last year from my "relationships." For some reason, "they always keep coming back!" ((e:theecarey)) gave me some insight into this weekend. It's good to know those sort of things for the future :-) and why women find me attractive in this way. It is just if I had the opposite problem of not having anyone want my company, overcoming that adversity to fight to get any kind of attention from a woman would be a battle that I may really not be up for. Then again it is one that I haven't had the need to take on in a long while. After years of thinking of locking my drive in a box figuratively speaking due to a lack of outlets and opportunities, I have now finally become one of those confident, normal, red blooded males. While at the same time bringing all of the problems, but compared to the alternative I can't complain.

vincent - 04/25/06 11:26
I'm Sorry,

Unfortunantly it seems that women have the slight upper hand here in Buffalo. You could always move to a place with a more favorable ration like D.C./Northern Virginia. My best college buddy's wife says she could hook me up with 10 of her co-workers if I ever moved down there!
mrdt - 04/25/06 03:18
I've often wondered what it was about me that women found attractive.

Whatever it was it's gone now so I too am joining the confident, normal, red blooded males who aren't getting any.
