So my Dad/Housemate is off to France today. Leaving me just a little bit empty on the person to go out to dinner department for the next week or so. At the same time eating just doesn't seem like a good idea, I believe I have put on a few pounds recently. I must get motivated and rotate the wheels on my blades for the basic fact that my marathon skates have worn them down to nothing last year.
What really is bugging me lately is the fact that it now appears that I did not learn anything from last year from my "relationships." For some reason, "they always keep coming back!" ((e:theecarey)) gave me some insight into this weekend. It's good to know those sort of things for the future :-) and why women find me attractive in this way. It is just if I had the opposite problem of not having anyone want my company, overcoming that adversity to fight to get any kind of attention from a woman would be a battle that I may really not be up for. Then again it is one that I haven't had the need to take on in a long while. After years of thinking of locking my drive in a box figuratively speaking due to a lack of outlets and opportunities, I have now finally become one of those confident, normal, red blooded males. While at the same time bringing all of the problems, but compared to the alternative I can't complain.

Trying to redeem a weekendCategory: going out
Well after not doing much of anything this weekend it came to the point where I had to do something. So in speaking with ((e:theecarey)) I suggested that we go out in the immediate locality. In doing so I guess I took her Lew-Port bar virginity, Ha Ha! Initially we were going to go to "The Stone Jug" but it just looked really dead. So we went to Lewiston and checked out the Brickyard. Not too lively either, but I knew a few people in the place so we stayed. We ended up hanging with all the members of The Karma Police which was an enlightening time for Carey. We also ran into an old friend of ours Scott.
My two Blue Moon's just made me too much of a debater/conversationalist, but it was fun. The low point of the night was some skinny blonde chick that just gave me some weird vibes. As we were walking outside to enjoy the fog on the patio she gave me the old scratching my eye with the middle finger thing. I had no idea who she was, but her constant talking to anyone that would listen really creeped me out. Other than that it was just a chill night in Lewiston, 7-1 guys to girls. To think my Ex thought I would go out locally and pick up women to cheat on her with, Ha Ha
Anyway this is to see if My Camera phone posts better pics that Carey's.
This was taken about 40 minutes after the place closed. It was nice not to be screamed at to "GET THE F* OUT!!!" or "PUT IT IN A CUP AND TAKE IT TO THE SIDEWALK!" When we decided to leave it was, "See you later, Take Care." Ah, Small town bars where everyone knows you.

Things that make you sighCategory: love & relationships
I was looking around last night for something for my date last night with an old friend. I stumbled across my blue faced Timex watch that my Ex bought me. I had thought I lost it in Vegas, but I had it all along. It was just a bit of a sting since I had considered it our "relationship ring." I don't think the universe was telling me that I was making a mistake for going out last night, but at the same time I have never felt the kind love that L* gave to me. It did make me a bit sad and distraught. Then I remembered that she did dump me.
Why do they always seem to come back? I got another text from my Ex/Old Friend D* today. After a while I am just not sure what to actually call them.
Well I think I'm finally awake. Time to figure out what and where I am going to go tonight.

being anti-socialCategory: blah
This week all I wanted to do was accomplish this one thing. It should have only taken a normal person 1 day to do this, I stretched it out for an entire week. Argg!!
Not only that but I really have just felt totaly isolated and blah all week. The only real social thing I did all week so far is have ((e:theecarey)) tag along on my degenerate mega millions run on Tuesday. I haven't even been getting my usual spam e-mail!
I think that I am just afraid that I am going to fall off the face of the earth of something.
Really I know that I am just being irrational right now.

Dyngus DayCategory: wholesome fun
So in a moment of keeping with my heritage I ended up celebrating Dyngys day with my Dad. It really boiled down to having a craving for a good old pork chop. So we ended trying out luck at this place called the "Polish Nook". Needless to say to get my fill of authentic Polish food we had to fight to get in. The place was packed to capacity. Initially they told us that we were not going to get in for the fact that we didn't have reservations. The fact that my Dad does some catering business with them and they were desperately out of singles and I had about 25 dollars worth since it was tip day at work for me, we squeezed our way in. So I had my Polish food fix as I recalled my old dearly departed family relatives. To see the energy and people just taking it all in was great. After dinner we just briefly stopped by and checked out the Polka band.
It was just great to see the place packed and the tradition kept alive. In actuality I thought that something like Dyngus Day would be falling off by the wayside, but here in WNY we keep any reason to party alive I suppose.
It is in the "old neighborhood" in east Niagara Falls a place where my great grandparents, grandparents and great aunts and uncles lived for about 75-80 years. It was a nice descent place when the factories on Buffalo Avenue pumped out cyclical goods. The neighborhood was filled with mostly people of Polish Heritage. Obviously this type of American dream in this area died when all of the factories closed. We all know the rise and fall of Western New York.
I lived in that neighborhood for about 2 years in my great uncle's house. When we had a buyer for the place we just took the money and ran. Ok, it was strange to try to take a trip to the past for one night for dinner. Just driving through the area and seeing homes that go for about 25,000 will not life your spirit.
Just for one day to see it alive and thrive it was a great sight to see.

I'm Sorry,
Unfortunantly it seems that women have the slight upper hand here in Buffalo. You could always move to a place with a more favorable ration like D.C./Northern Virginia. My best college buddy's wife says she could hook me up with 10 of her co-workers if I ever moved down there!
I've often wondered what it was about me that women found attractive.
Whatever it was it's gone now so I too am joining the confident, normal, red blooded males who aren't getting any.
