Dinner on the porch
Category: food
With the new porch furniture (e:Paul) went and bought, dinners in the summer are now oh so fancy. (Not al fresco as I thought earlier, because in Italian that apparently means in prison ) Here is are white bean and artichoke linguine with chard, plus farmers market fruit, beans, and grilled tempeh. Yum.

Dionysis at Brushwood
Category: camping
Warning - flowery butts ahead!

We headed to Brushwood on Saturday for Dionysis with (e:Terry)'s mom. The weather was sunny and perfect. A ton of Buffalo people including Mike, Seth and Dana were down there.

The night itself was crazy and I talked to a ton of people. Not that I remember any of them. Terry even had a conversation with a skunk.

We blew ourself up a breakfast fire in the morning and had some delicious cheesy eggs courtesy of Terry. (Too bad it was full of plastic and garbage - Brushwood hippies are really the worst kind of hippies.)

And (e:paul) weaved us some beautiful flower tails, which ended up in Terry's hair.

Family reunion (almost)
Category: family
I went to the first night of the family reunion last week with some of my cousins. I felt bad missing the bigger second day, but it was Dionysis and I really didn't want to miss out.

I saw two of the three cousins that used to live with my family for about 4 summers. It's insane how much of an impact we had on each other. I can barely imagine how we fit 4 additional people in our house for that long. But we were basically inseparable. I haven't seen them since 2010.

We used to be really into making stupid home movies, especially my oldest cousin Andy. Sadly they are all still on mini8 cassettes. How have they not been digitized yet?
