May showers
Category: weather
(e:terry) and I went for a bike ride on a hot night. the new canals are so nice in the warm weather. definitely can't bike in them though.
we got home just in time to avoid the storm and watch it from the porch. Check out the crazy gifs I caught of the lightning from our porch. (you may have to click for full size to see the animation)

Mothers' day dinners
Category: family
Despite the drama between (e:paul) and (e:mike) we managed two successful mother's day dinners. We stopped by (e:mike) and (e:libertad)'s for a really nice brunch they made with the Visco parents, and with some preparation still had enough time to cook out with my family. I think everyone was really happy with the day - I know I had a good time.

Paul makes the berries and cream dessert look so fancy.

Spring clening
Category: house
In preparation for Mother's Day dinner at our house we absolutely hauled ass and cleaned for 10 hours. (e:Terry) made exorcized the public restroom smell from our bathroom and made it smell like new. He also made the foyer polished and shiny like I've never seen. (e:Paul) dehoarded the kitchen spotless by dumping Bush era food. And I cleaned up tortoise land and dusted and vacuumed all the dirty corners.

I don't know how any less than three people could ever maintain a clean house this big. Its almost gross. Good thing (e:yesthatcasey) is moving in, he can help out :)

Later we went to Wasabi for dinner with (e:yesthatcasey), and my old friend Julie's birthday at Goodbar. I hadn't seen her or my other old friend Jennie in forever.

Later I got probably the craziest and sickest I've ever been from a cookie. I felt like Terry does in these pictures.

Linwood demolition derby
Category: cars

Last Saturday at 3am, we woke up to a huge screech and crash and blasting car horn outside out window. All of a sudden this lady starts wailing. it turns out this car turned off of north, crashed into three cars on our side and then plowed into another across the street. Right away 6 different cop cars, an ambulance, and fire truck came.

They hauled the man away (drunk?) while the girl's dad showed up on the scene to scream at her about how stupid being with that guy was, and that she let him driver her new car.

The whole neighborhood was out on a walk for this. After a half hour the horn finally blew itself and we could go to bed. Fucking drunk drivers and their death machines.

I thought this was crazy and was thinking it would be in the news the next day. It turns out Buffalo was even crazier that night because they were all talking about the stabbings in Caz Park, a double shooting and a cop chase of an ATV on Hertel that ended when the driver crashed into a cop car.

Yikes!

But it's sad that human nature keeps the same type of destructive romantic relationships cliche.

I can just picture pissed off Dad right now with the wreckage of that new car.

Buffalo Bike Birthday
Category: bikes
Its been a year of Buffalo bike parties now. Alex made amazing cupcakes. (e:paul), (e:terry) and (e:yesthatcasey) didn't seem to like the ride but we really didn't mingle.

I love riding together, but sometimes I think going alone forces you to be more social because every time I go on rides by myself it seems like I talk to more people.

Front Park's phallic cannon aimed at the passing cars. Too bad it's not functional.
