What stops you from posting?

hahha, I have to live up to the reputation of the human-comment-bubble. I actually was a comment bubble in one of the halloween extravaganzas at the 24.

I really want to add new features and modernize the mobile app with Paul. Maybe even advertise more. I just don't know when there will be more time- maybe winter?

(e:tinypliny) you manage to write more than I post with your comments. I always appreciate the email storm I get when you log on.

I still haven't posted about iphone , Hoping to try a mobile post today if I can click on the mobile part it isn't easy but do have a sort of copy paste one coming up hence why I'm here today .....

Bunch of reasons.
I am so exhausted in my mind and spirit that I think I have very little to say nowadays.

I thought my life was somewhat boring in Buffalo, but here it is at a standstill. Now I just take a million pictures and since all of them are automatically uploaded to G+ its super easy to hit a button, write a sentence and send it along to my family or to a small circle of friends.

I write a LOT, all of it pretty technical. On an average I start 2 Google Docs a day. On top of it I just started a github blog for notes. All this writing highlights my dreary existence even more.

I love coming and here and hearing all about the best friends whom I left behind and I always wish I had met you before I left. :-)

My phone's apps all decided that they wouldn't cooperate with estrip and/or estrip itself kept crashing (see my April post). I think the latest update that happened about two weeks ago might have fixed it but now I've gotten out of the habit. I really enjoy your and everyone's posts, and want to contribute more.

No sleep
Category: random
Ich have zu viel Energie.

Its 3:30am and I am not tired. Everyone is asleep. i just got back from Jims with (e:yesthatcasey). I got the veggie taco and and mac and cheese bited for $5 and the cashier said they both were vegetarian. They both also smelled like fried dough.

Now I'm sitting in the park at Franklin and North. It's really nice but almist never used. I woke up a drunk guy so his phone doesn't get stolen.

Maybe I should Deutsch üben. Or program. I have a bug at work that needs to be fixed but Terry might kill me if I work more hours like Paul. I wish (e:terry) would post.

If someone were awake right I'd go for a walk. woof woof. I bet midnight would.

Night walks are my favorite, I kind of like having the whole street to yourself with no cars or other people.

I think so too (e:tinypliny). Maybe we'll have to visit one day.
tinypliny - 07/18/14 23:31
I totally would have gone for a walk with you. I am seldom asleep at 3 ... though I am mostly coding either another algorithm or deadly boring processing/clean up job.
tinypliny - 07/18/14 23:29
You are a vegetarian. *High Five* me too. :-) The more I learn about you, the more I think we could have been great friends. Someday.... maybe.
ExBuffalonian - 07/18/14 10:46
I love being out and about at those weird off hours. Insomnia rarely happens to me, but when it does, I sometimes take my dog out for a walk to the park near my house. There are always some unusual characters hanging out at that time, and a strange energy in the air. I probably wouldn't do this without my German Shepard mix with me. It's so great to be awake when the sun rises.

Gone for good
Category: preservation
So 23 North is gone for good. The claim according to this Buffalo News article is that a lightning strike did it in. They also day it was *just* about to be redeveloped.

But if if the disqus comments by benfranklin are to be believed:

StrikeNet provides lightning strike data for the insurance industry. The last bolt of lightning in that area, was July 7 at 11:29 PM, with a latitude of 42.90457, longitude -78.87158, which is about 2 tenths of a mile a way. The strike was -19.3 kA, making it a less than average strike.

Stand at the corner of North and Main, and you can see the buildings being demoed near the church, and also this property on North. The property is within a few hundred feet of the Medical Campus. I'm all for them doing what they want with their property, this just seems a bit too convenient, and flies in the face of the facts (facts they probably didn't realize are readily available)

(yeah dubious whatevs), there was no lightning strike at the property. According to the comments StrikeNet, an application used by insurance agents to determine lightning strikes, says the nearest strike was on Summer Street 4 hours earlier. Its easier to avoid the preservation board when the building is half collapsed.

So fuck you First Amherst and fuck your demolition by neglect. I hope lightning burns down your offices.

Allentown's garbage garden

Maybe if we plant enough in it, it'll start reproducing enough trash to reforest Buffalo.

The blind store
Category: work

At work there is a convenience store in the building next door. It's manned by a guy who is completely blind.

I went with Paul yesterday and today for snacks. He knows (or at least I think he does) every price on every item in the store, but you have to tell him what you are buying. You also have to tell him how much money you give him which seems like a gaping hole for scammers, which he puts into a talking cash register.

I want to ask him how he ended up this job but that's probably not PC. Its so strange if its a program match up the visually impaired as cashiers.

tinypliny - 07/18/14 23:36
He is so sweet. :-)
joe - 07/17/14 00:09
Wow, that's awesome. I've never heard of that.

I guess if he runs the entire operation it makes sense that he would know all the prices too.
jessbob - 07/16/14 23:48
There is a state program for the visually impaired to run newsstands in state buildings :::link:::
