Pride Parade
Category: gay
Sunday, we headed over to the pride parade. (e:paul) had the great idea of using sheets to cover up the protesters - there were only about 5 or 6, so it went perfectly. (e:paul), (e:flacidness), some co-op house kid and I held the sheets and actually ended up chasing them away.

Afterwards was the festival down at Canalside, which had a count of 20,000 people. It was so packed.

The rest of the night was spent having a good time in the backyard. It was pretty much a perfect summer day.

Wut? No caption for the somersault pic? I want to take back my comment from before for missing captions. One needs some standards.

Dyke march
Category: gay
Saturday, after the skyride, we went down to Allen to watch (e:heidi), (e:dianne), (e:xandra) and a bunch of other people we know march in the Dyke March. The weather was perfect and the dancing at the festival after was fun.

<3 the last pics. (e:Paul) has got somehow better looking (and his perennial brow frown has worn off a bit). Must be your charm rubbing off. :-P

Skyride Skyway ride
Category: bikes

(e:Paul), (e:terry), (e:yesthatcasey) and I rode the GObike sky ride today. Casey and I volunteered for the preregistration and setup.

The day was perfect for a ride. The skyway itself was a anticlimactic but still very cool.

The ride was about 28 miles, and Paul managed to make it the whole way. I was proud.

Dammit I never biked down that skyway!

So Nice photos I would think that some of the views might be pretty cool since when in a car the rate of speed is so much higher ..... Assuming the other riders aren't in your sight lines .....

The Mystery Machine
Category: buffalo

Who drives this? It looks like they invested a lot of time in it. (e:Paul) wants to drive it.

Oh man, didn't you get a good look at WHO was driving it? I say next time you see it, chase it down and demand to see the insides!
metalpeter - 06/03/14 17:45
What I wonder is if you go through all the trouble of making your van look like that do you also drive in costume ? You couldn't do scooby cause that could cause crashes and eye hole would restrict vision I'm sure but one might at least wear some of the out fits ?? but I wonder did they get the insides to match or just keep that regular van ???
tinypliny - 05/31/14 22:07
Hmm... that looks like a vehicle for hauling bound and gagged kidnapped people.

paul - 05/31/14 19:07
To be precise, I want to be driven in it.

Coconut curry
Category: food
(e:terry) has been teaching me how to cook. I know how to follow a recipe and end up with something resembling food. But I don't have a good workflow, taste for what needs spice, when foods are done cooking, or anything a recipe doesn't tell you. I've already learned a ton - soon I'm going to go all domestic and have June Cleaver dinners ready when P&T get home after me.

Wednesday we made a huge green coconut veggie curry with rice. It turned out pretty good, but a little bland without added spice so (e:paul) could eat it. The only thing I would do differently next time is use actual coconut milk rather than the coconut cream that we had. It made it too thick and sweet.

Yummmmm coconut curry! Try a variant where you roast dried coconut flakes (4 tablespoons), coriander seeds, curry leaves, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, shredded galangal, ginger, green thai chillies and red thai chillies together in sesame oil and then add this to a stir fry of veggies with soy sauce. The results are amazing! :)
