Here is some alcohol you can really hate on
Category: alcohol
And this is why bootleg is bad:

What else can you do with it: :::link:::
metalpeter - 12/15/11 18:41
Here is a side Business from what I have heard people have this here for club drugs... Sell a tester it would test certain things turns one color might be safe a different color has things that are toxic like the other type of Alcohol (rubbing as an example)
tinypliny - 12/15/11 12:11
% 5 percent — roughly 60 million people — are alcoholics.

I think that might be an underestimate.
flacidness - 12/15/11 10:57
Oh shit!!!! No good, only the good stuff.

Apple - I still hate you
Category: apple
So I got an ipad today through work that I am going to use to test web/app dev for ipad.

1. Why still no file upload in the freakin browser. Even my old nokia bar flip phones could do that. Basically, apple just wants revenue on the apps and by not allowing upload you basically cripple web apps from being all that relevant forcing people to develop app store apps.

image

2. While I can probably use a corporate dev account for work stuff, if I wanted to dev anything like an estrip.org app to match the android one , I would need to spend $99 to become a developer. This isn't a one time fee, it's $99/year. That is such a rip off. Android market place publication privileges is a one time fee of $25 and you could avoid that if you just wanted to make the app available from your own website instead of the marketplace. And furthermore there are competing marketplaces like amazon's which will keep the prices low.

I mean in this case I just want to develop a free app (like the android one) that allows you to upload pics and other content to your blog. I have to keep paying $99/year?

Just as I was thinking about getting another mac as a dev laptop (for lightness sake) I came across this anger from the evening. Instead I just bought another SSD for the Dell.

How many people at work use ipads for work on a regular basis and to do what? 95+% of us seem to be stuck in encrypted slowed-down WinXP land with no hope of ever getting out. Doesn't it seem a bit odd to be pouring so much effort on web development for maybe the 1% apple fanboys?

Penasquitos Canyon Preserve
Category: hiking
Between LA and San Diego we stopped at Penasquitos Canyon Preserve. (e:Terry) saw a bobcat here. It was really pretty, despite being right down the path of a massive electricity transmission field that buzzed so much that it was loud.

Black's Beach
Category: san diego
I made it to the beach and I swam in the water, despite it being quite chilly at around 60 degrees out and windy. Still nothing is as cold as the time (e:terry) and I swan in glacier lake. That time I had to down a 40 before I could even step in the water.

I don't call anyone but family and that too in dire emergencies (so almost never). The phone plan was grafted on me by my family who probably thought I live in a war-torn strife-ridden battle-field where I would need to phone them every single day. But since I don't, I don't really call them more than 5-6 times a year. I use skype for talking with them every week. I hate talking on the phone. I can't maintain proper attention when I can't see the person and I drift off very often.

So the phone is mainly an alarm and weather device for me. When it is at home, it logs into my wifi and acts like any internet device. I use it as a camera outside and upload pics when I am in range of wifi.

metalpeter - 12/11/11 09:24
Interesting.... See I doubt I would really call anyone very often... But it would be for mobile posting and like pictures and stuff like that.....
tinypliny - 12/10/11 21:26
(e:metalpeter), I have a pay-as-you-go plan with no contract. :::link::: I don't have a data plan because, I just don't need to be connected all the time. I just took the SIM card off the plain phone that came with the plan and put it in a nexus one. I can access wifi points just as if I had a small mobile computer whenever one is nearby. But without the wifi, the phone works just like an ordinary phone.
metalpeter - 12/10/11 19:57
One of these days I need to get a Cell Phone and one that has a nice camera... One reason I don't is don't want a long term contract and have no idea what unlimited plans are really the best... That is a great app though I can see...
paul - 12/10/11 19:24
There is a parorama app for ten cents in the app market in honor of their 10 billionith google market download or something. Just search ten cent apps.
metalpeter - 12/10/11 17:52
Great Panoramic shots and nice beach shots.... Think if I went in the water ... Oh no way.... Not sure if this is true or not maybe it is until certain point.... What makes one cold or feel so cold in cold water is that the air and water aren't the same temp so you can be warm in the water and stick the head out and freeze?
tinypliny - 12/10/11 17:24
I love your panoramic shots! thanks for sharing!
tinypliny - 12/10/11 17:23
Its been so long since I have been to a warm beach. I can't wait to get gingerbread sandwich on my phone and see if the panoramic mode comes with it.
