Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!Category: buffalo
{For, I have a wonderful pair of snowproof boots this winter.}
And Prof. López-Piñeiro is embarking on some really cool art with all that snow!
I have one question, though... Where exactly is this front park? Is it the same as the "park" near the boardwalk where we go to see the July 4 fireworks?

It's the one at the end of Porter St (North turns into Porter @ Symphony Circle). I think this looks like great fun - Buffalo needs little places to sled. The mounds could be hobbit hills! (e:dcoffee) & (e:mmtornow) made a snow fort out of their mountains of snow a few days ago.

Braiding Specialist in Buffalo?Category: buffalo
Does anyone know of any spectacular braiding stylists or salons in Buffalo who can do an especially good job of braiding really curly hair?
Will be eternally grateful for suggestions!!
Okay, I have some recommendations from people online, and people on the street.
Germa's African Hair Braiding
1231 Hertel Avenue
Buffalo, NY 14216
716-986-1675
(Can't locate any reviews... To trust or not to trust?!)
Hair to go Natural
Main St. (Near Chow Chocolat)
(Disturbing review on yelp.com)
My.braids.com
Hair by Khaili
Apparently, this stylists travels to your place.
(Same situation... To trust or not to trust?!)
I have now registered on 2 African-American hair forums specially to ask for recommendations. Let's see what comes out of that.
And braiding is expensive! It can cost you anywhere between $150 and $250 for braids... which makes me think that if I put in some effort and practice, I could possibly do it for free.

Maybe I should just get that tattoo I have been coveting for so long AND do the braid/bald thing...

Good point, (e:heidi). You are correct, she might have got the locations wrong... I am considering braiding my hair. You have no idea how long it is right now! :) It is the longest it has been since I came here. But I am in half-minds whether to chop it or to braid it. I am slightly tired of looking so uninteresting, braiding seems like the way to go to get some "street cred". I went bald for a bit, and kind of liked it... so I don't know. Maybe the real question is to go bald or braid it?!

I think the yelp.com review confuses the shop that is on Allen with the one on Main Street. The one on Allen hasn't moved and they aren't natural-focused.

I've heard good things about Hair to go Natural.
But all this begs the question of why? You have very short hair.

LOL
It's not that bad of a route, really! I haven't got heckled in a long while now. I avoid the metro station vicinity, though. That's where some of the really loud ones seem to hang out.
You'd fit in real good on that route.
That's actually a brilliant idea. The dancing, that is. I am not very sure about all comrade-in-loony-arms shouting.
Maybe you should start dancing to and from work? Or you can pretend(?) you are insane and just take extra time screaming at everyone and everything. I'm sure they both would spend more calories than just walking alone.
