You can also just click the location button on the regular mobl publisher

And from the non mobile site publisher for those using it on mobile devices or devices with accurate geolocation like a netbook or ipad.

Unlike facebook, everything on estrip is public so think about that before you publish something you don't want people to know about.
I'll make it do some fancier stuff when I have some more free time. I wanted to do this for years but everyone always thought it was so creepy. Now its practically mundane.
I thought if you collected it all you could start forecasting social occurances like weather. e.g. there is a 40% chance of someone from your social group eating at panos next tuesday, etc. I am sure the folks at facebook and foursquare are already developing that. It must be nice to have so much data to mine.
I switched the default map type to satellite, it seems more interesting that way. Especially at the zoom level I have it at. If you click any of the maps on the journals themselves, they turn into dynamic maps you can move around, change map type, etc.
This seems like a pretty cool idea even though I don't have a mobile device.
In terms of being creepy yeah I think if it did it automaticly it would be. But the user choses to do so..... It is also a nice way (I assume) to let someone know where you are or if you are there live or delayed. What I mean is say I'm at the fair as an example and I take a picture of this huge organ, then I use my phone to automaticly say where I am then you see the location and know I'm at the fair. Then you can post a comment I'll be there in 20 minutes. As opposed to this. I'm at the fair and take pictures and one of them is of a ride that is lit up and then I leave and when I stop to take a picture of the Basicilica and find something to eat I upload the previous picture. Well now when you see the post you know that I'm not at the fair ...............
