Pretty much sums up my feeling about vendors.

Another day of repair and paint

The morning started with a call from my boss at 8am that I was late
for a presentation to the leadership forum. The meeting was two and
half hours before my usual start time and I had taken today off to
work on the house, totally forgetting about it.

So, i rushed out and made in time for my presentation and it went
awesome. Work has just been awesome in general. I even got an award
for innovation. Find out more about that next week.

So back to the house, I am capable of doing so many more things now
thanks to my new wood chisel set. I made some fancy new replacement
parts for the house facade and replaced some more shingles with
(e:matthew)'s help. Some bees has gotten in where the insulation was
blown in. We stuffed them shut and replaced the shingles that were on
top of them. You can't even tell which ones are new.

I was also able to finish half of the driveway-side cornace in brown
and orange. I had my dad come and watch me in case i fell. I think
he enjoyed watching me work, haha. It was also nice to spend some
time with him.

It's crazy how much you an get done in a day.

Painting the bathroom
Category: linwood
We are hosting the Linwood Historic District home tour after party next weekend. I have so much crap to do before then. I am going to hanve to take off some time from work.

Today we painted the back bathroom. I really want to redo it but it will have to wait while we finish other stuff. In the mean time we sanded it all down and painted. It already looks so much different. It was time for the stupid red sailboats floating in the clouds to go.

What I really want is a walk in shower. At home depot the other day I found this ad for showers. Who has a Kohler shower with a steam vent and disco lighting. I know I want it. I hope it comes with the costumes.

If you got a shower like that at the next Party that would change the entire meaning of (e:strip) non of the pictures could be posted cause they would all violate the TOS, HA. That is not like a 10 minute shower and get out kinda thing. There is like a 2 or 3 person minimum and the water will only go on if if judges the two people awesome enough....................................

I love fancy-pants showers. But that one is a little intense. How do you escape the water? The overhead one rains on you, so you step out of it and there are two jets squirting your face. Then that crotch sprayer... It is so intense there is no escape. You need to approach this shower with equal intensity. Thus, don't even bother getting in there unless you are porn mogul Michael Lucas with a show girl strapped to your back.

If I found those people in my shower I would go get the Comet.

Possible Threat Of Weather Apps
Category: web
This is too funny. I love when local media has articles about stuff they do not exactly understand.

This one article on wivb was about the danger of installing 3rd party apps on cell phones and how they can have viruses or be full of exploits. That is true and there is real danger there but what's weird is this passage.

Another possible threat is simple weather apps. GPS technology conceivably could take control of a smartphone, by reading text messages and address books.

Loosely translated into english: I don't understand cell technology but I heard some of it is scary so I will name some random part of the system I know the acronym for as dangerous and make up some bull shit reason.

The real thing they should say is this. Like desktop apps you shouldn't install apps from sources you do not trust.

Apple's shitty web
Category: mobile
I am so sick of not being able to see flash media on my iPhone. This
is excactly why I did not buy the iPad. I mean who can live without
the strawberry shortcake site? Specifically,

No seriously, it sucks. I get the whole, they want to control everything and have optimal battery life but flash could be offered as an option you can turn off. It could even be off by default, or not installed by default. Clearly the phone could power it like android or maemo. And clearly, adobe is interested in that happening.

I realize HTML 5 is better in the long run but so us HTML 6, 7, 8. Unfortunately sites are still designed for media delivered by flash and major changes are expensive to make. Not to mention that IE does not support HTML 5 and they are still a huge percentage of the browser market.

I'm case you are wondering what the web full of hole looks like, this is what it looks like.

Notice its not like removing flash removes adds. They just do those with javascript and HTML5.

I don't know enough about computers but I have 2 ideas.

1. Apple likes to pride its self as being different, you see this in all their ads and I think they think different is superior so if they don't like something they don't care and think their way is better any way and people will have to take it.

2. They are working on something that will be their own version of flash and try to get it to take over the web.

In Other words they are trying to take over what ever they are trying to take over.
uncutsaniflush - 04/18/10 19:50
How is this situation advantageous for Apple? I assume that Apple is doing this for a reason. Do you have any idea what it might be?
