I think they are for massage - not grating. Or are they?
I heard from a Hippie woman I flew with that if you are craving chicken stock and you don't have any at hand, you can potentially grate the keratin layer from your body and make some with half hour of boiling with spices.
I am not trying that anytime soon - its at par with the broccoli placenta stir fry.

Last night dinnerCategory: food
We went out to dinner at Curley's with James and Robert. I ate until
I was absolutely stuffed. The drinks were so yummy. I especially
like the "I'm going bananas." which is a frothy banana drink with
toasted coconut shavings.
Then afterwards we got home and Robert whipped out this cheese platter
extroidinaire. Needless to say I passed out on the couch and woke ip
at like noon.
