KearnsI had meant to write an impassioned plee for registered Democrats in the city to vote for Mickey Kearns in the primary tomorrow.
But, I only slept for three hours last night, got home at 11PM from work, and I need to be up at 4AM.
So, vote Kearns.

He would have been a great mayor. I helped the campaign a bit, went door to door, marched in the parade with him. He's a really good honest guy. I'm not too upset about the loss, hopefully it puts Brown on his toes like Esmonde says :::link:::
There's a lot of corruption in Buffalo, NYS, and DC, Kearns isn't one of those guys.
I have to criticize that debate though, Kearns was not ready for primetime. I bet he was nervous, but he was making no sense. I'm sure that hurt him a little.

WeekendAh,
I was forced at gun point to organize a fundraiser/rally. Not at gun point. And not forced. But no one in the group wanted to do it, understandably. It is so much fun organizing something like this when everyone is half hearted about it, including myself.
But, that headache is off in the mail today so I am done. I hope this weekend will be spent sun burnt, half naked in a lake, with a large glass of wine.
So (e:drew) and (e:janelle), I look forward to seeing you on Monday. red, fully clothed, and with French toast.

If you know me you are aware of my distaste for LOL but but OMG LOL. For real. This had to happen on Oklahoma because this shit would not go down well on the East Coast. I'd like to think even East Coast Christians have more respect for music than this.

It isn't just bad. It is a perfect storm of bad. First, take your shoes off? Hell no, it is a crowded room and darkly lit. I am never getting those shoes back.
Then, take off my socks? Isn't there broken glass and vomit all over the floor like in any god fearing concert hall?
Wait, you want me to wave my nasty socks in the air? Really?
WTF are you doing? A praise cover of Dead or Alive? Really? Really?
Oh, you aren't covering the whole song.... IT IS A MONTAGE OF JESUS-IFIED CHORUSES FROM POPULAR SONGS!
The ho down was really just the cherry on the sunday. And sunday is the lord's dessert.

I think the variety of churches we have in America is interesting, and what kind of pastors we have as well. I like that people take different approaches to try to get people into the pews. This is hilarious though - why take my shoes off? Why do some Christian Weird Al style take on a song? It's baffling.

I stopped watching when he commanded everyone to take their shoes and socks off. As I probably would have started yacking and left at that point with the nasty collective smell that would have clouded over with everyone waiving their socks around, WTF!?

ok, now I am home and catch fully watch and listen to this. All I have to say is,
this.is.AWESOME. Such a great find. LOVE IT!!!!
(e:joshua)- Carl probably WAS in the middle of a driving marijuana high! haha It is no secret about his affinity for it.
I'm in public without a head set, but this looks like an episode of Cosmos where Carl starts hacking away at an apple/apple pie.
This is one man I would love to have sat and had a drink/smoke/conversation with. Cosmos truly has a special place in my heart. It continues to be relevant on many levels and it is hard not to share in the authentic enthusiasm when Carl speaks. RIP, man.
I have a huge affinity for Carl Sagan. I wish he were still around - he is the type of guy that could convince young people to study the sciences. Even now I have episodes from his Cosmos series on our DVR. Still, this video is trippy! Carl Sagan and Steven Hawking (sort of) autotuned? Why is Carl Sagan smiling like he's in the middle of a driving marijuana high? LOL!
