Hooray!

Opening soon, on the Utica block of Elmwood. I hope it doesn't suck.

We could make reservations - so they expect up to turn up in a horde, no?
metalpeter - 09/26/09 11:03
I think (e:tinypliny) has a great idea. That being said if that was to happen I think people need to remember that places often have trouble with big groups. My point is if a place is staffed for say a slow night and 15 people all walk in it is tough on them. I'm not saying not to do it, what I'm saying is that if you get slow service don't get upset. Just think about the job you do and what would happen if you where prepared to do it and then something comes up out of the blue and now you have to do 3 times as much work or do the same thing 3 times for each person instead of just once.

I cannot wait to eat there.
tinypliny - 09/24/09 08:28
I say (e:strip) crash the opening night as an estrip eat-out party. Do they have a date on there? (Its too small to see).
james - 09/23/09 21:25
I always said an Asian fusion place would do well there.
metalpeter - 09/23/09 18:03
Well I always wonder about a place that serves two kinds of food other then a Greek or Italian place. I have never eaten Japanese food but I know that it is nothing like Chinese food, so that makes me a bit off. That being said it is a sit down place and if it is a real sit down place that is made for you to eat their and not a take out place (yes those take out places are good but they are Chinese fast food, and why are all there signs the same kind?) that has a place to sit then I think the food could be very good.
tinypliny - 09/23/09 17:55
I hope they don't serve the usual greasy mess.

Email posting, the subject of the email becomes the post title, but I forgot to add it.
tinypliny - 09/22/09 18:45
How do you even post without a title?! Doesn't it throw up its hands and say you definitely need one?

Burning Vacation Time
I have 8 days of vacation time that will expire if I don't use them, so I'm taking 8 Fridays in a row off, basically all of Oct and Nov. I wish I'd taken them during the summer instead of winter, this happens to me every year.

I really hope I use those days off productively, working on my own projects or learning stuff, instead of sleeping in and watching crap movies and TV.

Note to self: use this time wisely!
tinypliny - 09/22/09 18:43
Yeah, it sounds good enough to make people jealous. As an added bonus, you would be saving the planet!

jim - 09/22/09 18:38
Well I thought about it, and it came down to wanting eight 4-day workweeks in a row, which is actually pretty awesome.
tinypliny - 09/22/09 18:31
So (as I tweeted before), why not take them all together - maybe for a train trip through fall scenery? Remember (e:metalpeter), we saw something like this offered at the Fair. Do you remember what it was?
metalpeter - 09/22/09 18:29
I'm kinda in the same spot with Vacation Time. Not sure how I'm using mine though yet. Hopefully I'll use all my days and hopefully all your days off work out to be Productive ad/or fun.
tinypliny - 09/22/09 18:28
Oh man, I don't as well but Hulu is super-evil! I put it in my "hosts" file so that when I am tempted to click on hulu links or automatically type "hulu.com", the browser refuses to budge.
jim - 09/22/09 18:24
Actually I don't have TV. So no worries, except for Hulu.
tinypliny - 09/22/09 18:23
Get rid of the idiot box. It's evil.
