Heavy whipping cream 50 x 32

I knew that heavy whipping cream had a lot of calories but yesterday
evening I read the nutrition facts. 50 calories per serving sounded
reasonable till you realize that it has 32 servings per container.
Holy crap.

This explains ice cream's calorie count. The last time I went to
nutritionist a while back they suggested adding some igh calorie
snacks like ice cream to my diet.

In general terms the more costly ones like Hagen Daz and some other brands, taste better (not the right word really) and have more calories and fat. Of course what flavor and what things are in the ice cream are a factor also, but I mean for just the Ice Cream portion.
tinypliny - 01/12/09 09:52
I feel good about skipping lunch when I have ice cream. No wonder.

Working out with James
Category: body
I went to the gym with (e:james) today. It was fun to go with someone who seems really into it. I tried the free weights room for the first time. For some reason I just hadn't done it before. I feel like I would have no problem doing it by myself next time. Using the free weights feels different because you get more movement than the exact up/down, left/right motion that you get with the machines. I think I am going to buy some additional ones.

I wish Allentown Atheletix had the same stomach twist machine that they had at the BAC downtown. I am determined to have a ripped stomach for summer. If only I had some more danicnig opportunities I could make it happen faster.

I want to gain 10 more pounds so bad. It feels liek I am always saying that. I am hoping the addition of free weights and more food will help. This morning I made my protein smoothy with left over heavy whipping cream from last nights dessert (e:paul,47360) instead of milk for extra calories. It tasted so freakin good but then I was in a food coma for like an hour.

Update: I found someone with exactly the body I want, one that I think is attainable for my body type.

eat peanut butter.

Peanut butter on wheat toast with apricot jam is a good start.
metalpeter - 01/12/09 18:55
In theory you should be able to lift more weight on a machine then with free weights. With a machine you are just using your muscles to push the weight and then let it back down. but if it comes down a bit to fast it just makes a big loud bang and people know you are using to much weight. But see with free weights you use more muscles. The term used to be stabalisers . There are muscles that say keep the bar bells in a bench press for example as opposed to a one using a bar from falling over. I wish I was better at explaining it
paul - 01/11/09 19:03
It was a whey protein and banana smoothy, lol. Normally I use almost milk as the base to mix into, but this time I did half almost milk, half heavy whipping cream. I just added the cream and peanut butter for extra calories.

I need to gain some more fat too. I have no fat reserves and all the olive oil and fish fat I eat does nothing to give me an body fat it seems. I just want some body fat to be warmer. The year before I had a little more fat on my body and was warmer in winter. Since working out I lost like all the of the minimal fat I had and I hate that.
james - 01/11/09 17:41
There are a few dozen exercises that work the same muscles that twisty machine does without the injury that machine usually causes. I could show you a couple next time.

And with calories, quality needs to be balanced with quantity. That extra saturated fat isn't as useful to building muscle as lean protein. Is whey protein a problem? If so :::link::: protein factory has pretty cheap egg white protein and rice protein. And I know how much you love rice. yum, yum.
tinypliny - 01/11/09 15:52
"If only I had some more danicnig opportunities I could make it happen faster."

Ditto. But I am lazy and have poor time management. :(

Human and Tortoise Strawberry Treats
Category: food
Today, organic strawberries were on sale for $2.50/quart. They were pretty yummy.

I bought organic cream, raspberries and ghirardelli chocolate to go with it.

I whipped the cream with out new beaters, it felt like cheating because I have been using the old fashioned crank ones for years, till (e:lilho) insisted we get the electric ones during her visit. I added a little vanilla nd sugar. Then I sliced the berries and rubbed them in a little organic, evaporated cane sugar and hand grated the chocolate over the top.

image

Basra (e:paul,32584) got a treat out of it too. He loves the strawberry tops.

Speaking of treats for Basra, he got a new UV lamp today and also discovered humping things. I think its like a whole new world for him.
heidi - 01/13/09 12:14
(e:zobar) - those are definitely awesome... (esp minus the cream, sugar & vanilla)
jenks - 01/11/09 21:32
omg zobar I have that thing, and it's pretty much... AWESOME.
libertad - 01/11/09 18:27
It would seem so ridiculous to have an electric knife and not an electric mixer.
lauren - 01/11/09 17:06
i have to say i was a little misled by your title... although i am open to the possibility that anything, including human and tortoise, would go well with strawberries and cream.
metalpeter - 01/11/09 11:07
That looks really good. Now here is where things get silly there is one thing that might make that better in stead of using glass, use Bacon Cups as per who ever wrote that blog, HA.
zobar - 01/11/09 10:52
If you're cool with cheating, these are the best things in the world: :::link:::

Dump in a pint of heavy cream, a little sugar and vanilla, and a bottle of nitrous. Boom: fresh whipped cream, in your coffee, every dang morning. It also keeps the cream fresh longer.

it was light, fluffy not too sweet, sweet enough...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. This is the kind of dessert you can eat after a big meal without feeling too stuffed
tinypliny - 01/11/09 09:55
OMG! I NEED THAT STRAWBERRY CREAM CHOCOLATE THING!

Possessed by the devil
Category: hair
I cut my beard and then tried to take a pic of my new facial hair.
Each pic came out crappy because of low light. The iPhone is pretty
terrible with low light conditions. This one was especially scary
because it only blurred my eyes.

tinypliny - 01/11/09 09:57
LOL you just need some wings over there...
james - 01/10/09 22:05
Your demonic face makes me homesick.

Organic grass fed beef sirloin
Category: food
How is the coop going to compete with this? Wegmans now has organic grass fed beef at such a great price, and it looks really good too.

These two cost $7.60. Considering that each one is enough beef for a
whole meal, that is a pretty good deal.

It's also super tender.

joshua - 01/10/09 20:52
Interesting question. I *never* buy protein at the Co-op.
