Planting seeds of disastermy world is simple and yet frustrating at times. This is a story of how i made the attempt to transform my black and shriveled thumb into a lovely spring green.
we went and got a tomato and pepper plant for our balcony. Oh hell yeah we are going to have a fruity balcony!
Maxx ate my damn pepper plant. Bastard. So there was still a leaf left, the stalk mostly bare and charlie brown christmas-like.
but our houseplants are dying like crazy... what the hell is wrong with them? we t hink they are pot bound so we head out to home depot for some bigger pots. god i love home depot, but then i am a big lesbian aren't i?
'bigger pots' turned into flowers, a railing box, and some bigger pots.
because, well you know.. the lesbian thing...
and of course we find out that our medium light box was actually getting too much light because we were putting them outside to be nice! We were actually burning our plants like orchids in the sahara! silly us.
now our balcony is beautiful and our shrivelled and burnt up houseplants are inside, rehabilitating. we have our pepper plant (the remnants) and a flower pot up on the table out of maxx's reach. Or so we think. Because of course while taking the dog out last night we look up to see Maxx happily gnoshing on the flowers. Sitting on the table. NOOO!!! we yell, but of course he ignores us till I storm up the steps and chase him around the house. The little bastard chewed the only leaf on my pepper plant. And of course the flower leaves.
So moral of the story, short of a shotgun/arsonic/concrete shoe swim, any ideas on getting this damn cat to stop eating my damn plants??
oh and on a side note, Maxx is happily boxing the shit out of Ralphie right now. I THINK they are playing.... I see no claws after all...

Well, I have two cats... Kitten is much older and much more independent and wants nothing to do with any puppylove. She'll swat with claws if she's really upset. But China Cat, that fat black blob in the pictures, loves her puppy very much and will initiate play, play-fighting and cuddling. China gets stressed when Nisha's not around. It's an interesting dynamic that is definitely dependent upon their unique personalities. Maxx is still very much a puppy - give them all time and space to play and interact. Good luck with that! :-)

libertad: i've tried hot sauce and maxx LOVED it. And tomato plants are actually poisonous to cats. I noted that maxx actually appeared to nibble on the corner of a tomato plant and then he hasnt touched it since. its as if he knows.
heidi: OH MY GOD that is exactly what i need! I've been hoping that one day maxx, sid and ralphie will snuggle and i can bask in their love. But i can't get ralphie to stop trying to bite at their fur!

You could try bitter apple spray on the leaves. I don't know that this will work because a lot of times the animals don't care. You could also switch to a cactus farm. The most important thing is to make sure the type of plan you have is not poisonous to them.

The Good, The Bad, The UglyI got promoted to Assistant Manager. Really it means nothing, no raise, or extra duties. It just gives me a title. A leadership role, so that others might follow my lead. Sure sure.
I Also finangled Sunday off, so I can go to pride. HOORAH!
Then I note its supposed to thunderstorm. BOOO!
I have an outside sales meeting at 9 am this morning in orchard park. Technically it is my day off, but ah... whatcha gonna do? I mean, 8 lines and accessories will give me a damn good paycheck next week.
I'm rather nervous as I have never been involved with outside sales, but I need to chillax. Seriously, I think i'm going to blast music the entire way there.
Okay gootta go get ready... SEE YA'LL SAT NIGHT!!

really i don't mind the title - its just putting a name to what i've already been doing. Just means i can be more bossy!
And the meeting went great, but of course now she is calling me every three minutes with more questions... *sigh*

notesSad and dissapointed. I have to work on Sunday the 8th. Pride. Boo.
Which of course means that (e:lauren) will be out there, with Ralphie. Getting accosted by people who can't leave him alone. Without me. With gays around. Seriously, I don't like it. I mean Ralphie is a total chick magnet! And (e:lauren) is pretty damn hot her self. I'm so very dissapointed.
The neighbors are moving out. The neighbors that actually spoke to us occasionally. Last night they were moving out by throwing things off their balcony. One thing was apparently glass and it shattered. Now we are stuck with just the damn foreign guys who stand around in circles speaking loudly until we walk by when they shut up and stare at us. And i don't care if that sounded crotchety.
Battle at Buffalo rocked last night - except for the weird energy. It didn't seem very upbeat and happy. One fellow called another out (meaning they were challenged to a battle) and it was a serious one. It ended in some strong words and an invitation to step outside. Sometimes breakin ain't easy. This happened twice last night. Two separate occasions. I don't know what the hell was up.
Afterwards, we went out with Shane and Heather to iHop for some breakfast. I haven't had breakfast at 1 am in forever. Especially when not incredibly drunk! good times!
Now I'm off to work all day... Then Heather has somehow got me into a candle party... yes.. a candle party... serious?

I meant to say this on your last post but forgot or was it (e:lauren) about the dog. Here is what you do where ever you got your dog from go get a shirt and a hat from there ok at least a shirt and work out a deal tell them that you are they only people with that kind of dog in your "rich" "afflunt" "highly traveled area". This if worked right will do a lot of good. First of all anyone who looks at the dog will now know where you got it and where they can get one. The shirt would be given away "hey free advertising". Maybe if the people can be convinced you could get other free stuff out it to. I'm sure something could be worked out that would work out great for both parties. On a side note yeah (e:lauren) is cute and she will have a cute dog with her, I'm guessing she will get more attention then anyone could ever want, sorry you have to work. On a serious note you may want to get in touch with (e:Paul) I thought he said he wanted to go to Pride in Toronto, not the same I know but it would be something to consider.

there is life outside your appartmentCategory: ralphie
amazing to think of what i did before the puppy. Like computer work. Pay bills. watch tv. watch MOVIES.
yesterday we took mr ralphie on a long ass walk. saw (e:drew) along the way which confused the crap out of me... why? because random jogging person said 'hi felly, hi lauren'... this is unusual you see because now random people that we meet say 'hi ralphie'.
yes it has happened that quick. Ralphie is a celebrity. We have so many people stopping us to say hello to him that we have regulars! From across the street... "HEY ITS RALPHIE!!" oh sweet jesus no leave my dog alone...
We have people pulling over to stop and gawk at my dog... the best was when 3 large guido type fellows pulled over in their suv to yell at us...
"Aye he's really cute! I bet I'd be pretty cute if i had a dog like that!"
Now stop and read that last line again but this time, think of Rocky saying it. yeah... its like that...
so anyway, on to the world outside of Ralphie.
its my day off and i'm driving to East Aurora for an 830 am meeting. bitches.

It was always the same with my parent's dog, Ralphie... people stopping us all the time. Mostly, to ask what kind of dog he is and why he doesn't have a leash. He's a coca-poo and, well, he has never been on a leash. The benefits of living in the 'burbs, i guess?
I found Ava and Nolan got a lot of attention on the streets, too.... since i only walked them a couple times a week, i didn't mind it, but i can see how scary/annoying/time consuming it would be every day, twice a day.
But see, if you hadn't gotten such a cute dog, you wouldn't have this problem.....

a little bit of the crazy hand twirls... like what she does in here i can sorta do. sooorta
Wow. And errr... that sort of looks pretty intense. I am not sure I will be able to make it through 30 seconds of that! Have you stepped up to all those crazy hand-twirls-on-the-ground??
