Sometimes it blows my mind that I quit smoking.
Today I held the cigarette of a coworker while he was with a customer. It wasn't lit or anything, but it felt very natural in my hand. I think about the act of smoking, and of course it came right back to the social thing. Smoking was always a social thing.
Weird. Somehow I quit cold turkey after like 10 years without any desire. Except when I am drunk.

Day Off.Day OFF! I also have Friday and Sunday off.
Woke up at 10:30! Wow that is a great feelin- waking up late..
Chatting now with my brother whose Golden Retriever is in the middle of having puppies. He is doing the reporting while his wife is helping with the delivery. I was hoping that she would pop out a random dachshund for me, but I somehow don't see that happenin.
Snap Pea Crisps are so delicious, but something tells me that they are extremely bad for you.
My big plans for the day? carmelizing onions, roasting some garlic and making a big crazy pasta salad with it all. we will see how that works out... i have a feeling I may be getting a bit silly.
Watched Sweeney Todd last night. Wow gore. I knew it was (tim burton and all) but man.. Burning flesh is disturbing. I was also amused to see that three characters from the Harry Potter movies were in this movie. Bellatrix LeStrange, Peter Pettigrew and Severus Snape. I don't know their real names.
Anyway, I should be off to some cookin for my woman. She is soooo spoiled.

hey i didn't know she was dating tim burton! good to know! what is johnny depp's excuse then? hehe
and the strange thing is that the blood that is involved in sweeny todd almost seems more jarring because, musical and all, you don't expect it to be as bloody... the first throat slashing experience you almost think... well they aren't going to be too graphic... and then... well they are...

Helena Bonham Carter is a Tim Burton standard because he is her fuck du jour. She has a reputation for being a bit of a husband stealer.... i think Tim Burton is her 2nd or 3rd man who was married when they met and started to date right at about the time he decided to get divorce. Coincidence? Perhaps.
As an actress, i like her, though... with Johnny Depp, aka Mr Pretty, i cannot imagine anything but fun! I thought she was brilliant in a small Canadian film called Margret's Museum -- tres creepy.
The only thing that is stopping me from seeing Sweeney Todd is the blood... i can't take it!! My friend, Mark, says it isn't bad, but he likes slasher films and mob movies. How am i supposed to trust HIS judgement?

helena bonham carter played both mrs. lovett in sweeney todd as well as bellatrix lestrange in harry potter. And as i look her up in Imdb, I realize that she, like johnny depp, are often in Tim Burton's movies (corpse bride, charlie and chocolate factory, Big Fish, Planet of the apes... etc... Shes my hero..
Oh and Timothy Spall is beadle/pettigrew. he creeps me out.

protestsi am so very excited for the lovely weather, even if i know that it will be all overwith in a few days. weird ass buffalo ups and downs in weather has been craaazyyy...
I've been taking note of the fact that there are all these demonstrations and protests against the beijing olympics. good for them! It really is amazing to think that all so far both london and paris have had protests against them, and have tried to extinguish the torch. countries pulling together! i wonder what will happen when they make their way to san francisco? that will be interesting to see.... I do intend on boycotting watching the olympics myself, which is very sad for me since i love me some olympics.
im at work and its a crappy crappy day. losing money left and right. grrr... and off i go to find me some lunch.

but by boycotting the olympics who are you punishing, the chinese government or the athletes who've worked so hard for so many years? or do they not care if people watch?
do you know if there are any athletes who refused to participate in the olympics once they found out it was going to be hosted by china?

sleeping with fishesi feel so out of the loop after being away for so long.
We got our internet kit yesterday and we are just waiting for a) me to go buy a wireless router and b) the service to be turned on. Currently I am online at work, and for once, i'm not crazy busy out of my eyeholes. Which is good because I have no desire to do ANYTHING today.
Happy birthday (e:jim)!
i just realized i have been missing for several days and yet i have nothing really to say. How very lame!

welcome back. And in all fairness, many of us are here constantly and have nothing to say but say it frequently (see post about terrible Stallon movie below).

catchupbeen without internet for a few days. The internet gods have weilded the angry hand of encryption onto our free web access.
At work now. Lunch break. Just ordered some internet so god knows when we are going to get it at home. Also going to probably need to buy a wireless modem at some point or string cable across my apartment like christmas lights. maaann this is cutting into my puppy money.
Friday we watched 'anatomy' and i have to say its a good thing we didn't have internet because i would have had to yell at (e:jim) for that one... it was sooo baddddd! actually it probably would have been much better if it was dubbed in english. Because the voice overs were done by people who didn't even seem interested in acting at all. it was horrible. Subtitles would have been more acceptable.
Saturday's battle at buffalo was the greatest ever... my teacher even slid across the floor on his head. the greatest move ever.
Sunday we went to the park behind the albright knox. which was pretty cool and i can't wait to have a puppy dog that i can bring there...
and now monday. back to work.

oh tiny, if you have ever been to one of my family events, you would know that if there was a genetic disposition to being addicted to smoking, it would run in my family!
Hmmm... maybe you don't possess the addiction genes!
:::link:::
I've found it's a lot easier to not smoke now that you cant smoke in bars.
Congrats on the just saying no to lung cancer!
Congrats on quitting and not falling for temptation.
