Remind me to never buy another song off itunes. I have an endless loop of "you must authorize this computer to play this song" and "you have auhorized on more than 5 computers".
I bought the fucking song, let me listen to it whenever and however I want.

Ridiculous Credit Card offerI got this unsolicited card in the mail and am totally confused. Do I have an account or don't I? Bizarre...
tinypliny - 10/10/07 01:25
That is just scary. Cut it up, discard it and never use or activate it.

You shouldn't have an account. If you do it's illegal. The practice of sending someone a credit card and saying if you don't want it you have to cancel it was made illegal a few years ago. It's probably just a gimmick to get you to call and then they'll have a foot in the door.
There was a spiel on credit card companies on NPR three months ago. It made me want to cut up all my credit cards and never use them again, but I don't carry a balance so they don't make much off of me. Evil, evil companies.

working on a table (html that is) siteCategory: web design
So I'm updating a site that was built entirely in tables a long time ago in my web design career and as much as I embrace css layout, it was nice to type in valign=top and see my content snap up to the top. Shoot me.

Tables are so gimped. CSS is capable of anything you need, Carolinian you just have to wield the forse. Remember this horrible table crap.

Need some cool mac apps and Sunday Sk8 sIf anyone can suggest cool freeware apps for my new macbook pro, please suggest. On another note, I stopped by the Sunday Skateshop on Saturday. It was nice to see a unique shop bustling w/business. JP the owner was there, busting his butt putting grip-tape on the boards and having a great time...I wonder what the owner of Zumies or Phatman were doing...

i don't have the link here, but there's a whole site of open source mac freeware that's pretty decent. it's called "opensourcemac.com" or something logical like that. There's tons of stuff out there though. just google it. Apple has a download page that usually lists decent stuff too.

I live right near there. It is hilarious. Every day there is a herd of kids with Sunday stickers on the skateboards they bought at Sunday. They are wearing their Sunday shirts and skating in front of Sunday. It is like viral advertising.

I'm glad that he got his own business going. It has been around for a while now, so maybe it is here to stay.

I hate QWERTYY'all know that QWERTY is a way to slow down typists so they don't jam typewriters, and DVORAK is an optimized keyboard layout that makes you type, like, 1000 times faster if you just take the time to learn it, which no one does, because we type on like 20 keyboards a day, half of which are on machines we don't own, so we can't change them to DVORAK, so we would become insanely schizophrenic having to switch mental modes over and over, and I think this is symptomatic of every problem that plagues humankind to this day.
jenks - 09/28/07 21:37
wow... I never thought it was such a big problem. I can type pretty damn fast on QWERTY keyboards... hmm...

Haha, I was exaggerating a little about the 20 keyboards, it's probably more like 4 or so...but I think typing is the most common form of communication today and it's kinda crazy that at the root of it is a crippled layout.

Sorry about that. I was using the wrong keyboard. Nice avatar.

What is more wrong: that you have to type on twenty different keyboards a day, or that you have ten keyboards of your own?

dude I am so fucking with you!
apple just changed the price of their "itunes plus" (i.e. DRM free) songs to .99 cents, though. I.e. the price of normal songs. (they used to be 1.29). But apparently it's not ALL the songs... I don't really understand this move. but my point is, the "plus" songs aren't restricted, so it seems we may be moving in the right direction...
I agree that makes me insane, not to mention what a pain it is to transfer the music to a non apple device.
