Queen City Roller Girls
Category: sports
The Queen City Roller Girls game at Rainbow Rink was packed. We went to go see (e:rachel) and (e:dragonlady) play. We seriously had to park like a block away and walk down some railroad tracks (as with any good trip to the tonawandas) to get to the place we were going. North Tonawanda smelled exactly how I remembered it - a faint smell of burning rubber.

Rainbow rink - 101 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda, NY was exactly how I remembered it. It was downright freakish to hear Mr. Roboto playing when we got there. I think it may have been the last song I heard there the last time I left, sometime in the 80s. It was nice to be able to drink beer this time around.

Gave a buck for fleshette. I would have given more but I had forgotten my wallet and that was my remaining change.

Even though she played for the "other team" - I think my favorite was crashinova - she reminded me of (e:robin) for some reason.

(e:lilho) was really stressed that the teams didn't have proper fashion consultation.

Hey, I played on Saturday night! I was on the Devil Dollies, C.N. Red #13. Thanks for coming out and see us play. We appreciate your support, and I hope you had a good time!

I like the pictures thanks for sharing them. The pictures do tell a good story.

I don't know the stats from our admissions but Barb the rink owner's wife was explaining that they had 500 chairs so if all those were full, that was 500 people; plus she could count about 100-150 people sitting on the walls and barriers, and there were some people on the floor. But I didn't have time to see if all the chairs were full, so I can't say for sure how many people we got in that place.

I don't want to scare people away with the crowds, but we really need to consistently sell out the venue in order to be taken seriously. I think we're doing well for our first season, but we have yet to attract any major sponsors, and we're going to need some serious cash to fund a travel team this summer.

What did you think of the show?? Was it fun??

We didn't have proper fashion consultation? They're sports uniforms-- believe me, we tried everything, it's all we could really get. And we did have a bit of fashion consultation-- #007 on the Knockouts is a model and actually joined the league because she met me and one of my coworkers at the airport because she flies to New York so often.

i went to rainbow rink to get skates when I was stralight express for haloween and i felt the same way. It was exactly the same as when I last was there circa 1994.
jenks - 04/29/07 23:00
goddammit I missed it again!!
And you guys were all there so it would have been extra fun?!
And hottie david was supposed to be there too.
ugh.
mrmike - 04/29/07 20:51
Meant to head out last night, but I had the youngins and couldn't talk em into it. We got as far as Dairy Queen and headed back. I remembered the crowd from February and figured that we'd have no hope with a late arrival. Looks like they attracted another big crowd

Rudolph and Son's Garden Center
Category: gardening
Sidenote: I wish I had a powerful mac capable of runnning Safari and IE along side both version of firefox. It is really a necessity in the business I am in. Right now I am really angry because something has changed and firefox is not uploading images for me on my linux install? I have no idea what the deal is seeing as I did not change the site code this week and that I can upload the images from Safari. I am seriously considering a new computer career that involves less complicated testing on diverse systems.

Well here they are - this weekend we went shopping for the garden and did lots of house work. Then we went to the Queen City Roller Girls Game. I also piled lost of garbage up for the dump, my first stop tomorrow morning before work, fun!

It was so foggy downtown on our way to the Rudolph and Son's nursery way down on Clinton Street.

Just before it is this giant white house. Does anyone know what it is?

They had lots of pretty blue and purple flowers. I tried taking pics of the same flowers with and without flash.

They removed more of the paint on the old club heat on Delaware. What is it going to become?

Ate another pitts burger from Jimmy Macs.

That first flower shot is pretty good and that burger looks tasty also. In terms of that huge house I have walked by it a couple times on my way to work when the bus I catch didn't go all the way out to work. I don't know what the place is but it look huge. If that is the place I'm thinking of if you keep going down that way there is a cementary out there to. I remember thinking that with the closed gate you would think if it was a place and not a home that there would be a sign. I wish I was more help.

Ramen and Lobster
Category: food
There is nothing as good as ramen noodles and lobster. I think it the culinary equivalent of drinking kristal in a trailer.

paul - 04/28/07 22:33
James, they are frozen pees. And honestly they are organic rice noodles and not true ramen. I am a cheater.

I miss you to southernyankee. We mention you everyday at somepoint.
james - 04/28/07 18:38
Are those freeze dried cup o noodle pees or forzen pees added to give the dish more class?
southernyankee - 04/28/07 18:26
Paul, You make me laugh!!!
Miss ya...

My last Visit to Compusa
Category: shopping
It is kind of sad that this is my last visit to compusa in Buffalo. Things are at 50% off which seems like a great deal but its still not competitive with internet prices in most cases.

::DOWNLOAD SOUND::

I was so excited with the prospect of buying stuff cheaply and reslling it on ebay, but wap.ebay.com went down as I began looking up prices.

We are currently undergoing server maintenance. Please try again in a few minutes.

Never has ebay gone down on my, why now while I am in the midde of shopping.

10 minutes later: I have decided to just give up and go home. It think there was potential but I am not in the mood anymore.

Byebye compusa - we had good times.

60 hour work week
Category: jobs
So I am just finishing a 60 hour work week in which I completed lots of really cool stuff. Unfortunately, I am not paid hourly anymore.

I really just want to go dancing but all my friends fell asleep already. I contemplated just going back to work as I know (e:enknot) is still there and I guess programming beats surfing for electronic gadgets I don't need to buy.

The other option is to work on estrip, or maybe even just watch television. I wonder what it would be like if I lived in a city whose nightlife was compatible with what I want to do. For sure, it is not go drink beer and hang out at the pink.

Artvoice Awards
I am in a pre-artvoice award depressed funk. I hate going to the Best Of Buffalo awards thing every year. I mean the food is great , it was great because it led to Artvoice hosting us and it is really fun, but it sucks to always lose. Part of me doesn't even want to go. (e:mike) told me that Susan Lucci lost 19 times before winning so there still is hope.

Tuber Madness
What is this tuberous monstrosity. They old had one giant one with that slit in it at the store. It weighed like 10 lbs.

(e:terry) got a haircut

I ate octopus at Kosta's again. I really like it.

metalpeter - 04/28/07 18:41
Granted I know Buffalo isn't Toronto or New York but I would think that there has to be someplace that has the type of night life you want. I do know that there are people in Buffalo who drive up Toronto to go "clubing" I know it takes some planing but it can be done .

In terms of the Artvoice awards I know the odds are not in favor of you or (e:strip) winning but I think you should still go. What if you where to win and you warn't there? The other thing is maybe there is someway to spread the word of (e:strip) there.
paul - 04/28/07 11:01
If I could have a total week long vacation with no ones intervention I would probably program the whole time in a new language for fun. I guess that is what makes me a super dork.
leetee - 04/28/07 10:05
(e:strip) will win this year!! Damnit!! Like (e:Museumchick), i can feel it...

(e:Terry) looks cute with the new 'do. Not only can (e:lilho) handle a giant tuber, but she can deal with a nogin? :O)
carolinian - 04/27/07 23:35
I guess different programmers feeling differently about programming. After a long hard day at work programming, the last thing I feel like doing is going home and programming; it seems like it would be really depressing to do all that work by yourself and then come home to doing more solitary computer work. Of course, if you like the stuff you're working on (which I often don't), then it probably is a lot more motivating and fun.
mike - 04/27/07 23:12
isn't it just an honor to be nominated?
