Well we made it. 5,000,000 views since Dec 24th, 2004. The kind of thing we should have done a press release about but i am too busy nowadays.
Thanks everyone for your contribution to this by writing the nearly 4,000,000 word you have written in your journals.

I think it works in konqueror 3.5Category: estrip
The non-mobile version of the site should work normal in Linux Konqueror now. I switched it to use the old upload system for konqueror.
There is still no sound in Konqueror but other than that it is normal.

Wow I wish i had a good idea. The only thing that I can think of is have an (e:strip) reunion. What I mean is a party for everyone on (e:strip) or anyone who used to post and stoped or left the site or did like one journal and never posted again or who posts but never goes to parties (like me in the past). The reason I say this is I don't remember who but I know there are some people who post but don't read that often and just the opposite is true also.
The thing I wonder is how many of the views come from people who never joined the site or are outside visitors. I assume that each time I click on a journal that isn't mine it counts as a view but what happens if I click on the button to read comments is that counted as another view? It would be interesting to know number wise and percent wise how many views are from people who arn't part of the site. I'm guessing that might take a lot of work so I'm not suggesting to really do that.

Quick fix for Explorer CommentsCategory: bug fix
I fixed the IE error that would not let you open up a new comment. It appears that IE reports an image as having a href property. That is lame. I was using it like if the thing you clicked doesn't have an href use its parents href. But because the image was falsely reporting having an href property it was opening the image instead of the comment box. All the other browsers handled it properly. Instead of asking if it had an href property I asked if it did not have an src property.

Commercial Free Public SpaceCategory: advertising
Chris,
We do not advertise on estrip. It is one of our main objectives to maintain a commercial free public space as we have done for four years. Your site has advertisements on it in the form of google ads.
From a web design/programming perspective, your site is not unique enough to warrant talking about it. It is basically yet another vBulletin with google ads clone.
Sorry,
Paul Visco

what is that in response to?
what is that in response to?
maybe (e:zobar) would have some pull? I don't know anything about making a press release, but I could write them if you want.
Artvoice perhaps?
5,000,000 views for 4,000,000 words. Wow. Someone has looked at this site more than once for every single word on here. That's a lot.
Congrats paul. You must be really proud of what you have created. This is such an amazing site that seems to get better and better and I haven't even been on for that long to see all of it's changes. You said something about a press release. Who are you interested in covering the story?
