I can't believe it I lost two more long time friends to the sunny state of Florida. Guess I can't blame them for moving...the job situation around here is pretty shit. With my credentials they'll only allow me to flip burgers at applebees for 10 dollars an hour. I can see it now..."well yes you have three degrees and 15 years working in restaurants but you don't have any management at applebees so we can't offer you a management job. but we'll let you work in our kitchen on the broiler and you can be promoted after awhile." it's actually not that bad but if I were to go to an area with a more touristy business I would get snatched up before my resume hit the GMs desk
So I guess that's what I have to look foward to once I graduate. movin around, checkin out the country. i've always wanted to buy a Norton and move around the country as a drifter. God damn student loans gettin in my way again. They are absolutely behind every decision I make.
Oh well, I'm gonna watch the Simpsons and go to bed. One more week of school then I'll have the whole weekend off to...to...ah... what do I do when I don't have homework weighing me down. Oh that's right I'll go to the gym and give Chris a call, oh wait he's in Boston so I'll call Jim, oh wait he just moved today, so I guess that means I'll give Joe a call; too bad about that falling out we kinda had...wonder if he has the kid this weekend???
hmmm... I got to get another suit. I'll give ol' Jed a call see if he's still at Jos Banks. I'm thinking light grey, maybe window pain. keep it tight so I don't have to have it retailerred after the summer.
I guess that's it, I'm on the laptop so I can't change the music and the desktop is off. No bother firing it up for a new user sound...I'll make it up on the nexxt one.
Reminder:::: DEEP DISH coming to the Guverment in TO on May, 21. They are my favorite music programmers right now so it should be a good show.
Love ya, MrDT

I was just thinking about a comment (e:leetee) left for me the other day:
always been my personal experience that the guy with the cash and the attitude gets the girl, but it's the sweet, gentle men that get to keep them.
Yah, I got that too and let me tell you it gets abused and thrown away like a kleenex. but I'm not here to bitch about that. although my new user sound is advice for all people who have low expectations in me.
I normally don't watch to much TV but I thought Letterman to be extremely funny tonight. Tom Cruise was on and Jaime Oliver (the Naked Chef) made an apperance with some thai-noodle dish.. looked okay. It's fun watching a chef get in front of an audience and kick out some crazy dish in ten minutes. The dude had the kitchen crank on (loaded with caffeine) and was just rocking back and forth like most of us do. What a good spirit Cruise was...I think that whole Ophra/Katie Holmes thing is getting blown out of control for him but what a good sport he is about it. Between the three of them I just kept cracking up. Especially when Dave started kicking back the cooking alcohol then passed it around.
Then I flipped over to SNL on COmedy Central and it was good to see a solid band on for once.
I just want to congratulate two music old timers who are still coming up with awesome music.
No it's not the aging Rolling Stones it's actually
It's:
1. The Red Hot Chili Peppers with a new album soon
2. U2, who was the band I saw on SNL. They were doing Vertigo and let me tell you, my dear readers, that I was impressed once again. Their new material is just as good as the early stuff. I can't believe it myself after Pop and that other one but it's really good to listen to.
Just out of curiousity, how do others feel about the band U2??? Do they Suck??? What the hell do I know??? I just wonder sometimes... The lead singer Bono was nominated for a grammy, a gloden globe, an oscar and the nobel prize all inside a years span. That's quite an accomplishment.
I don't know, I love um, MrDT

Ok now that I have that out of the way. man I can hardly hear myself in my head. I'm nearly finished on my research project for my transportation and logistics class. It's gonna be over 30 pages long by the time I'm through. if you were wondering, it is a business proposal for a thingy I've been thinking about doing for a while. if my sales projections are accurate, I should be a millionaire by the 3rd quarter and a multi-millionaire by the 2nd quarter of the second year.
So nah nah nah nah. Sucka's. That'll teach you sorry asses to laugh at me. Not only will I have the body, the brains and, whatelse, well I'll also have the money. And everybody knows: 1st you get the money; then you get the power; then, then you get the women.
My mind is fucking mush right now. my stuff is spread out pretty good to finish up so I don't have to cram my way to the end of the semester. I'm so glad I had the discipline to stay in the house yesterday and Saturady. I guess that makes me a loser, but I'm rich bioch. Not only that but I never miss deadlines. I think it's pretty pathetic to miss a grad school deadline because you were out hangin with friends all weekend.
I quote Anthony Bourdain, "I spent two years on the Food Netwrok and if that didn't turn my brain to mush, nothin will."
Peace out for tonight peeps, Love Mr Millionaire, MrDT

Okay I've alloted 2.3 minutes for a quick (e:strip) post. I know I haven't been around much but your gonna have to get used to that this summer. I'm not likely to spend much time in front of the computer because I prefer to be outside, bicycling, walking around the Falls or hiking in the Gorge. I also swim a lot and have friends over on the back deck to eat, drink wine and chill out. Let me say:
You're all invited over, even you wierd ones!
Actually I prefer wierd because it will give us plenty of character and things to talk about.
Okay 0.3 minuites left. Got to go... enjoy the tune I threw up there. Its indicative of the albums I'm playing while I work on this mega project. I'm not sure who it is but it's off of Armin Van Buuren's live Album at Ibiza's Universal Religion superclub.
I think after the next two weeks ud grad students should get together and make a good use out of (e:ladycroft) 's hooka.
Love it, Mrdt

Friday's Recovery MealCategory: foodie2
Okay just a quick post cause I got a ton of work to do this weekend.
I went to thew store today and treated myself for a fabulous 1# USDA CAB porterhouse steak:
I bought it at Tops and normally I don't go to TOps but Wegmans has really been pissing me off. I shop there atleast twice a week and I have so many problems. Last week they were out of Papetti egg whites so I waited in line for a rain check. Well, when I completely ran out of eggs and egg whites I went to Wegmans but forgot the rain check. They fucking completely refused to save me a dollar on two. How's that for customer oriented customer service.??? I could go on and on but anyway here's the staek with some of the fat cap trimmed off on my natural gas grill:
This was my recovery meal ( 2 hours after my post workout shake):
That's the steak, a baked potato with one tbl. os fat free sour cream and an enormous head of lightly steamed broccoli. Thank God it's the offseason. Oh yeah and I can't forget my quart of water:
Burppp!!!
Eating alone on a Friday night I flip on the TV. Good thing I don't get depressed by it anymore like this guy:
Gotta eat more, gotta be more:
My arms are getting deisel...This is like picture 10 and my arms are tired from the workout plus the fact that I was flexing them for 20 minutes to get a good picture. Looked better in person, I'm real happy that I'm starting to get vascular.
I love my personal development, MrDT

Damn, helluva nice looking meal.
Damn, helluva nice looking meal.
I've never been a big Red Hot Chili Peppers fan. I first saw them in NYC in the 1980s when Hillel Slovak was the guitarist and I wasn't much impressed by them as a band mostly because of Anthony Keidis. I think Flea is a great (if a bit busy) bass player and over the years they had some interesting guitar players. John Frusciante is wasted in the band imho as is Flea. I think they are both way better musicians than the band's material allows them to be.
As to U2, the only stuff I like by them, and I really like it, are Achtung Baby, Zooropa and Pop. These three albums are disliked by most U2 fans because they don't "sound like U2" or at least that is what I've been told.
Ironically enough, that is precisely why I like the albums - they don't sound like U2.
But then again, i'm a musician that can tie shoes. So what do I know. I'm just weird.
I think U2 is a great band. I think it is great that they use there celeberty to push causes that are important to them. I think that there are a lot of good causes that we never hear about that celerberties can bring to the public. That being said not when they are at a show. On there off time. One reason is that everyone in the band probably has differant views and if you do it as a band it makes it look like the band is all in agrement. Secondly it makes the show less fun. Granted it is differant when the band is a band known for political lyrics. There is another exception and that is when a band says to take an active part in improving the world but leaves it up to its fans to decide what that is.
I think U2's one of the best of all time. They have serious staying power because they're willing to adapt and evolve, like all great bands.
They've laid a few eggs, but always find a way to crank out another record of heartfelt, honest music. Whether you like them or not, U2 lands in a category with bands like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, the Who, REM, etc... a small elite club of amazing artists.
That said, I too do not care to have politics espoused to me by musicians. (Sting, Bono, that dude from Counting Crows... whomever).
I've spent a lot of time with musicians in my time playing with various bands. I can tell you that there is absolutely no link between musical ability and wisdom. Most musicacians can barely tie their own shoes, so lord knows why anyone would care about their political views. that makes as much sense as seeking tax advice from your favorite NFL quarterback.
i've always liked U2, though I did wonder for a while if they're sort of past their prime, and i don't listen to them that often anymore. and sometimes i get sick of bono's political crap. but i went to the concert this year and it was awesome. They're good performers. period.
"Men should be like Kleenex, soft, strong and disposable."
I don't know exactly who said this quote first. If anyone knows for sure let me know.
