weekend
Last night went out to eat Indain Food and had great converstations with my sis's roomate. I have been to the indain place on elmwood a few times but always forget the name it was verry good. AFter eating a lot of tasty food a fell out on wrestling. I also missed Bill Maher, that is an interesting politcal/comedy show. I also missed family business. Hopefully tonight I will tape one and watch the other.

Tonight The Sabres play there first playoff game. Should be a great game, I'm not going I'll watch on TV. I am going to the Bandits game at 2pm on sunday the bandits had better win. It should be a great game also.

I Saw Scary Movie 4 today. It was funny and goofy and sord of what I expected. The one disapointment was that it was PG-13 instead of R. There where a couple scenes where boobs could have been shown. I just spelled saw like the movie Saw that is funny I will keep the capital.

4/20
Category: 420
For those of you who like weed I hope you had a great 420. For those who don't I hope it was still a good day. I have heard a term or two for today but can't remember the exact term. I don't know if there are any Celebrations in Buffalo. I thought that they used to have a lot of people light up on the Rainbow Bridge but I don't know if they still do that or if that is just on the canadian side of the bridge. There was an interesting article in the Buffalo News today about how Joel Thinks people should talk about legalising drugs. I completely agree with him on something for once. Not sure if they have other smoking events in other cities but I'm sure they must. My view is anyone who wants to do drugs will weather it is legal or not. But if you legalize them you can tax it and sell it in stores and regulate it. Then put a certain percentage of the tax into rehab centers for people who want to quit. If drugs arn't sold on the street then that takes the gang element and the killings over turf and drug deals gone bad. That will also let the cops focus on more crimes. Will some people still steal for drugs of, course but those same people would do that if it was illegal. I didn't mean to get politcal I just think that as long as what you do dosn't hurt anyone else you should be allowed to do it.

Can you imagine walking into 7-11 and asking for a pack of doobs?? heh. I think alcohol and tobacco are FAR more destructive to our society than weed, and they are the legal ones. (In fact I think pot should be legal and tobacco should be illegal, but that's just me, sick of seeing people dying from smoking.) But really... Etoh causes liver failure (and societal ills), tobacco causes cancer... what does pot do? Not much. Crack, heroin, etc- ok that can stay illegal. I learned recently that a lot of Cook County's trauma center's budget is from a percentage of highway fees- e.g. if you are drunk and in an accident, something like 20% of the penalties go to the hospital. Sounds like a good plan to me! (and one last rambly thought- at ECMC we are not allowed to comment on if a trauma patient was drunk- b/c if they were the hospital doesn't get paid. So we have to ignore it. Very shady if you ask me.)

Hey thanks. I understand that some people and for legalizing and some are strongly opposed but I think it is a topic that government should sit down and discuss. I know some places it is legal for medical purposes but I hope it can make it farther then that. In any event I hope everyone who does it and enjoys it had a great day today.

Shit... everybody knows my opinion on legalization.

Happy holidays!

I agree with (e:metalpeter) on that. Well said.

If marijuana was made legal (and taxed) it could benefit the economy. I'm all for the amsterdam method, where it's a controlled, legal substance (much like alcohol, but a bit stricter control).

survey says
Category: sex

The above link or website how ever you want to call it is about sexual satisfaction by country. It dosn't go into a lot of detail but it is interesting. On a side note I think that all surveys should say how many people they interviewed in each catorgory or at least the article should say it. The reason I say that is because could you imagine if the US stats where used by people from (e:strip) we would be the lowest country on the entire earth for being satisfied with sex.

On another note there is story on there web site about a snoiw storm in one of the dakotas glad I don't live there that would suck. I should shut up or we may get a snow storm and people on the maid of the mist at that time will hunt be down for ruining there good time. I must go on that this year some time. I would also like to take pictures. Who knows with some luck maybe I'll meet some crazzy falls chick :-) .
metalpeter - 04/20/06 17:59
That is a good point if your not getting any how can you rate how satisfied you are truely.
theecarey - 04/20/06 01:30
I didnt check the survey.. but you have a good point on the estrip.. need to be getting some to figure if we are satisfied or not.. ha

Sulu Backs Gays
Category: religion

I found this article on usatodays web site. I find it interesting. All I will say about it is that i think it is good that Takei sticks up for what he belives I think it is funny that they use his charcter name in the article tittle I assume since it is better known. I think gay rights are important. But the question I have is if these are religous based schools, why would they change there religous based policies aganst homosexuality. I don't think they can change the people beliefs. They may however be able to convience them that even though they don't belive it is right that they shouldn't condem gays or hold it aganst them. Hopefully as this stroy progresses it will be in the news some more.

Star Trek's Mr. Sulu backs gay activists

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Mr. Sulu beamed down to lend support to student gay activists who tried to visit a private Christian university.
George Takei, who played the helmsman in three Star Trek TV seasons and six movies, made a surprise appearance Monday after a busload of Soulforce Equality Riders tried to talk about faith and gay rights with students at North Central University in downtown Minneapolis.
The 33 activists are traveling by bus to 19 U.S. colleges with religion-based policies opposed to homosexuality. They were locked out of school buildings when they arrived at North Central, which is owned and operated by the Assemblies of God.
After sitting in front of the doors for most of the afternoon, the Soulforce riders and supporters rallied at a park across the street when Takei, who came out as a homosexual last year, stopped by.
The 68-year-old actor said the activists' "equality trek" shares themes with those of the starship Enterprise.
"They have shown courage and character in showing that most people of faith are not extreme reactionaries who oppose equal rights," he said.
Tour organizer Jacob Reitan, 24, said the colleges they are visiting "equate homosexuality with sickness and sin. It's time to have a conversation instead of defaming our humanity."
Nate Ruch, executive director of university relations at North Central, said last week that the riders declined an offer to have a third party mediate a discussion.
Takei was in town to speak at a gay pride event at the University of Minnesota.

Censorship
Category: tv
First of all I understand that there are certain things you can't show on tv. For example I was fliping one night and there was this show Called Mile High it was on BBC America and there was these two guys and a naked chick in a steam room and they stard or coverd her nipples as an example that I understand. But what I don't like is when content or subject matter is edited out. Appartently that is what "Cartoon Wars" the two South Park Episodes where about. The issue was showing Muhamid as a cartoon chacarter. The Basic story line was that Family guy was going to have Him shown. In the end it turns out that Family Guy episode is aired and that they will show Mumhamid. There is a speach in there by Kyle about how you have to be able to make fun of everything and if you can't thank you shouldn't make fun of anything. As South Park is about to show Mumhamid the Screen goes black and there is a Message that Comedy Central wouldn't let them show it and it is explained right in the episode. I think it is great that they make jokes about how people are out hidding there head in the sand and how people are affrid riots will break out and everyone is going to die. Then they bash there own network for being the same way. I think Comedy Central should be ashemed. It is ok to Bash the Scincetologists but not the Muslums cause there might be a riot or they may get hate mail. I think it is bad enough that the we have less and less freedom in this country every day. But to compound that by not showing certain subject matter on TV shows is horrid. I think it is good for TV shows to have issues of race, politics and all kinds of issues. Yes it is only a TV show. But when people talk about that show with each other then those isssues are mentioned. Don't get me wrong I don't think a show should be all issues. A good Example of that was Ellen. It was a funny show. They Teased her coming out of the Closet on the show for a good long time and that was funny. But once she came out then that became the entire jist of the show and it lost how funny it was. On another note I had a good easter and watched most of the sabres game, great game. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Glad it was a good holiday. I had to work at the Adelphia Zone at the arena yesterday and having them win like they did tops off a nice weekend.
