Welcome to (e:strip), Liz!
Like imk said...you'll get a feel for it. The best way I've ever been able to discribe it is a "generally Liberal (except for the Larsons) virtual Buffalo full of lots of fun people". It's online...it's offline...it's everywhere. Lots of people...lots of fun...you'll get the hang of it.
